    Morning folks!

Marshall invest in some leaf guards. They save a lot of labor.

Rain is moving in, looks to be a wet weekend.

    Morning!!
NFL playoffs…YAY!!! Unfortunately that means football is almost over! My favorite sport and it has the shortest season! I’ll get home in time to see most of the Saints game. The first game today I don’t care to see…just hope Cincinnati manages to beat Houston. I do not like the Texans!! At least I will get to see my Giants’ and Broncos’ games tomorrow!!! Okay…enough football. If you can’t tell, I love my NFL!!!!
Everyone have a great day. I am going to work early today to see if I can catch up on some things in my department. Been behind since I had to be on the front register on Wednesday because they forgot to schedule someone. Reconstruction is a pain and ’tis the season of resets of my entire department!! Do you KNOW how many items are in a cosmetic department?!! Boy, I’m talkative today, aren’t I? Sorry!
    See ya’ll all later.

    Good morning.

My life’s about as exciting as yours Marshall. I could fill a page with well-bore data concerning stuck drill pipe. Another page on the procedures we’ve initiated to free said pipe. Another page on why these procedures have failed so far. And yet another page containing a very qualified opinion on just what is happening with mother nature 11843′ below the rig floor. THAT’S the page nobody reads. Sigh. Despite all that, I said a little prayer of thanks when I poured my coffee at work this morning. Ever notice the difference in the taste of coffe at work vs. coffee at home?

OB, your take on the candidates should be published where the whole world can see it, oh wait, it is. Good job.

Y’all have a safe day. Peace.

Mawnin’ y’all. Headed out in a bit to return a tie I bought last week because it has a spot on it and it hasn’t been worn yet. Then I need to get a couple of new dress shirts. The fuse I replaced on Boule went out again on my ride yesterday. Sooooo, got to take off some parts to get to the fuse box to put another fuse in. I hope it doesn’t happen again for a while.

I bet MrsH and her oldest are having loads of fun looking at and for wedding items. It’s a girl thing, thank goodness.

Morn/noonish. Happy Saturday :). Need to go to work shortly. Watching some old 30 minute westerns with PD for now. Blues sorry for the well problems hopefully will get going again soon.
Barb hope your teams do well today.

Marshall my gutters could use some leaf cleaning too. Feel free to take care of mine too.

  7. OldBopper says:

Returned the tie, bought some new dress shirts, and back home. Got to go find something for lunch. Beautiful day outside!

  8. parrotmom says:

Nice outside. Ran to Rooster’s for a cheeseburger and onion rings. Guess I had my read meat for the week. Stuffed now.

PD’s brother and a cousin came by for a visit. It couldn’t have been timed any better to have accidentally been here at the same time.

  9. parrotmom says:

What channel and time is the Saints game on?

  10. OldBopper says:

Pardon me while I step on my soap box:

Y’all, I bought two dress shirts this morning and tried one one this afternoon. I put a tie on to see if it would accommodate a full windsor knot. Well, it didn’t look right so I untied the tie and tried a half windsor. Still didn’t look right. So I tied another full windsor and tried to adjust the width at the top of the knot and it fit, but the knot was way too wide at the top.

So I took the shirt off and decided I better return it. I know what size I wear and have bought that brand for many years. Then I looked at the top button and saw that it was sewn onto a piece of elastic! Dang! Been through that before and we just cut the elastic out and sew the button directly on the shirt.

I really don’t mind manufacturers making clothes to fit fat people. We all need clothes to fit. But I do wish the manufacturers would try to stop modifying my sizes to fit fatter folks. I like my collars snug. Some people like to wear them an inch larger so they don’t fit tightly at the neck. If they want that look, let them buy a larger size. But I want my clothes to fit properly (at least how I deem proper). I want my belt and shoes to match colors. I want my ties to compliment my coat. I want to be able to wear the coat buttoned unless I am sitting. Oh how I hate to see pictures of men wearing their suit coats unbuttoned. Makes them look fat and/or sloppy in my humble opinion. If the coat doesn’t fit, get a larger size. Goodness knows they make larger sizes these days.

OK tirade over, stepping down. Thanks for listening, if you did.

I listened and I tend to agree. My husband is not a large person even though he is 6 ft 2 inches. The elastic on the button comes in handy for him due to his adam’s apple. A regular button makes it too tight around the neck and a larger shirt would make him look sloppy.

  11. Airwolf says:

Agree! My body is finally growing into my 18 inch neck. I always had to buy a larger shirt to get a neck fit!

  12. Mrs. H says:

Both my younger girls have shoes for the wedding. We’ve decided on nude colored shoes because as MOG (MotherOfGroom) says, “If everyone doesn’t already have some, they should.”

The eldest’s original plan for dresses was to pick a color scheme (think of a paint swatch card from Lowes: 3 or 4 colors in the same family) and let each of the 7 girls pick her own dress that worked well for her shape. (We have 2 under 5 ft, 1 almost 6 ft tall, and 2 that are rounder than the rest.) HOWEVER, some were hesitant to make the first move and the eldest discovered that Target has a nice selection of bridesmaid dresses for about $70! Who knew? So now, I think they’ve all 7 picked the same design, so the eldest is trying to decide whether to pick one color or let them have their choice. (Her sisters, having red hair, don’t do well with pink, like several of the blondes do.)

How’s that for wedding stuff, OB?

  13. OldBopper says:

MrsH, I think y’all are having a ball picking all the things out. I’m impressed that Target carries dresses your girls like. Lollie ordered hers from the same place Emily got her wedding dress and later found some very nice dresses at Belks and Dillards. She said Belks had the most choices and the best prices. I think you could find a dress at Belks for somewhere between $70 and $100.

Emily’s color scheme is blue and brown. For flowers she wants tulips and hydrangeas. Never heard of using those flowers for a wedding, but the flower lady says it can be done. The flower lady is arranging and providing the flowers as a wedding gift.

We have the engagement party next Saturday. That will really get things started. They have received one present already. Three months and a week until the wedding.
We don’t have weddings during Lent so Emily picked the Saturday after Easter.

Lollie and I did get married during Lent but had to get permission from the Bishop before a minister would perform the service. It was a special case, I was in the Navy and had a ten day leave. Got married on the 9th day of the 10 day leave and reported to U.S. Naval Hospital in Millington, Tenn. just minutes before midnight on the day after the leave expired.

PM, I understand about PD’s shirt situation. Maybe we ought to be given the choice of elastic or non-elastic.

  14. Barb says:

    Evening!
    Houston won…BOOOO!!!!
