Good morning, hope you have your web feet on. Happy Friday it is wear RED day signifying heart disease in women.

Last night Itty Bitty would stay away from me when I let her in. She had a hurt left hind quarter. This morning she was better and full of love and hugs with me. So glad she is ok. I just hate having to put them out when it is raining but I don’t think the combo of Parrot and kittie girls are a good match in the same room even with adult supervision. The poor parrot would be traumatized.

Everyone be safe on these wet roads.

You have to think Old Bopper’s alarm went off in his basement this morning. Goodness it is raining.

  5. Airwolf says:

Morning! Rain is on the way. I hope OB is not flooded.

We attended three wakes last evening. I’m a pallbearer at my friends funeral in Alabama at 11:00, gotta get a move on.

morning gang! All this gloomy rainy weather just wants me to stay in and snuggle up. Having had rain over the pass 2 weeks why is people still can’t drive in it. This is what causes all the accidents. if you just turn your lights and wipers on and go. people could see you and you can see.
    ok off soap box…
everyone stay dry and have a good day.

Mawnin’ y’all. Yep the alarm went off about 6:30 this morning. I glad I was already awake. The pump vacuum is working great so life is easy right now.

My cardinals are sitting on the carport roof looking at me. Sorry guys, I don’t fill up feeders in the rain.

We have plans to attend the Episcopal Diocesan Council in Vicksburg this weekend. Had planned to stay over on Friday and Saturday nights. PQ may be the only attendee from our household.

We are talking about putting the basement sofa on blocks and using aluminum foil on the table legs and just let the water come on in. The floor is concrete so it really won’t hurt anything. We may get about 1/4 inch in the low places and just a glazing on the rest of the floor. We can always vacuum it up and air it out. Been there, done that.

Hope all of you have a great soggy day. Smiles and hugs to all!

Mornin. It is definitely a wet, soggy kind of day. My poor pups REALLY needed to go outside, but refused to go in the rain. Of course, as short as their legs are and as deep as the water was getting in the yard, I can see how they would have difficulties. I put a “potty” pad down, but they just sniff it, and maybe take a nap on it, and then go potty on the carpet. Don’t know how to get them to understand what it’s for.
I brought my lunch with me today cause I don’t want to get out in this mess if it’s still raining at noon.

Good morning! Thank goodness I didn’t sign up to go a single solitary place today.

A house I had in north Jackson a long time ago had an underground leak that soaked into the basement every time we got a slow, soaking rain.

  10. Old Bopper says:

We’ve had over an inch of rain since 6:30 this morning. That’s according to the weather service at Jackson International Airport. Except for a spot about 6 inches by 1 inch, the basement is bone dry. The vacuum does an excellent job.

  11. cardinallady says:

Good morning! It’s not raining up here …. yet … at almost 11 a.m. But it sure looks like it is on the way. We had our fair share Wednesday night. Blew in some kind of storm.

OB your favorite cardinal is here. I promise I won’t ask for bird seed. :)

I was very busy yesterday and didn’t peek in a word, sorry.

Today I’m cleanig my desk. I think I just need to throw a hand grenade in here and hope for the best.

Marshall has been truly tickling my funny bone lately! GREAT job with all his cartoons!

  12. cardinallady says:

okay, hand me the blog killer crown somebody. Only make it small, I just oiled my feathers for the rain.

  13. dhcoop says:

    Dang, it’s nasty out!

  14. msblondie says:

everyone have a good evening.. i am wrapping things up here.

think i might need a boat to get home in.

  15. Barb says:

    Afternoon everyone!!
OB, did they ever pass the law about lights being on when you are using the windshield wipers? If they did, I saw a bunch of lawbreakers while running errands earlier!!

    • OldBopper says:

Barb, that bill has been introduced every year since 1980. It did get a committee hearing a couple of years ago, but that’s as much as has happened with it. I don’t know why it never passes.

Actually, the motor vehicle manufacturers ought to do it with their wiring harness. I know some car rental companies that have their cars set like motorcycles. When the key is turned on, the lights come on. That’s not a real bad idea since most people think their daytime running lights include their tail lights too.

Tough drive this evening. LOTS of water on the road. I hope it’s better tomorrow for the drive to KO, but I’m not real hopeful.

  17. Old Bopper says:

9:15 pm. The wet vac/pump is turned off. It ran continuously since 6:30 this morning.

    Good machine.
