Morning. Strange around here. I’ve turned off the TV & staying away from Face Book for Lent. Even the dogs think it’s too quiet…They wonder what’s going on.

I didn’t get online last night but I’ve posted a link to Dancing Rabbit Inn, formerly Hilton Garden Inn. I’m right next door! :)

Morning. Ash Wednesday….Church at Noon today. No ice cream in the freezer.

It is very quiet here today. Yesterday I ordered 20 4-inch tall galvanized buckets for reception table decoration (holds silk flower arrangements) and within an hour got the e-mail that they had been shipped! They don’t mess around.

Yesterday, I also discovered e-burlap . com. I can get a 100-yard roll of 30-inch wide 10 oz. burlap to make table runners. The entire roll is $138. I can stitch the edges to prevent unraveling and make 15 8-foot long runners and STILL have 180 feet left for catering tables, birdseed bags (or dried black-eyed peas!) and miscellaneous other decorations. ONE pre-made table runner is around $30. I’m coming out way ahead.

That is your wedding prep update of the day.
    As you were.

When Kiddo gets married …. I’m calling you.

      • Mrs. H says:

I’ll give you all the advise you can stand. For my girl, though, only if she asks. It’s her wedding, not mine.

        • Molly says:

I wish that had been MY mother’s attitude. She ordered my cake without asking me and I had no idea what it looked like until day of the wedding. She seemed to think it was her wedding, and did not take my wishes into consideration. She never even asked what I wanted, just jumped in and did it.

Mornin. Actually have had a quiet morning at the office so far. Those mornings usually evolve into crazy afternoons, so I’m preparing myself.
Hope everyone has a fantastic day!

It appears several hundred people are milling around in the Capitol rotunda. They are social worker students brought to the Capitol to lobby their legislators. They are standing around talking to each other and haven’t moved from the rotunda area. When they go home they will profess to have been to the Capitol to lobby legislators.

Afternoon. Gray day here in Pontotoc, but a GREAT day. Has been kind of busy. Getting a career center section together and out the door.

My editor gave everybody their brain tease for the week Monday afternoon. “Camptown Ladies sing this song, Doo-Dah, Doo-Dah,” and I shouldn’t be the only person on this blog with that going through my head. [Ducking all the shoes.]

M just texted me… the THS High School Choirs ( 10 – 12) made ALL SUPERIORS today at contest. They will move on to State Contest next. This is so awesome for them. All the Seniors are excited, this is something they really wanted for their directors.

  10. parrotmom says:

Congrats to THS MsB that is awesome.

MrsH you are so creative. Can’t wait to see pictures. What color scheme?

    Good afternoon to all.

    • Mrs. H says:

The maid’s dresses are a seagreen color (you can see them online at Target in their bridesmaid dress section). The men are in gray tuxedos with maroon vests. The color in the decorating will come from quilts (one made by Mr. H’s great-grandmother – a wedding ring pattern, no less – and a cathedral window quilt made by my grandmother).

      • OldBopper says:

Sounds like things are really coming together on the wedding MrsH. I think instead of blowing bubbles, throwing birdseed or rice, the guests ought to be given cow bells to ring as the couple leaves the church. JK.

Afternoon, I’ve been busy since about 8 going with Mom to take care of some legal documents. I’ve got her at the beauty shop getting her hair done now. We’ll take a breather and have some lunch when she’s finished then on to visit Daddy for a bit.

It’s drizzling rain and windy but in the 60’s.

    Later………

I couldn’t get into town yesterday because of parade traffic. Hwy 1 headed south out of New Roads was one-way. While getting gas in Erwinville, I asked a cop how long it would be before traffic returned to normal. He replied that it would be about an hour 1/2. I told him, “dang, I guess I’ll have to go over here to Camile’s and eat oysters until then”. He thought that was an outstanding idea and would follow me over if not for work.

    Evenin!

  14. parrotmom says:

Evening to everyone. PD tried to make it to the couch this morning. In doing so he fell. I just realized his wrist on the right is swollen double the size. Then he told me he did fall on that arm. Dang it. At least he has an appointment in the morning and they can xray the wrist. He isn’t in any pain, but how would he know?

  15. Barb says:

msblondie, is that Tylertown High School?

  16. Legal Eagle says:

All the doo dah night, all the doo dah day; bet my money on the bobtail mare; somebody bet on the bay! Thanks for the memory, Cardinallady!

I had some pretty good cards today, but nothing to write home about. None of the old people pi#%^&$ me off, so that was a plus.

Tonight is my favorite night on TV now that Survivor is back for a new season. Criminal Mind is one of my favorites and then I usually watch Revenge, but tonight watched the special 20/20 showing the Oscar nominees back when they started. Having the Bachelor and Survivor both on the air for about a month is just lovely. but I have a strong feeling that the bachelor is going to pick that heiffer Courtney, who went skinny dipping with him.
