Well, fiddlesticks. I JUST posted to Tuesday’s FFA! It’s 4:11 am, and I have not slept all night. Y’all can read my post on yesterday’s FFA if you give a rip.

Another couple of prayer requests-flipflops is in the hospital, admitted Tuesday night. Not sure which one she is in, but having tests done. Also, I’m sure you (we) old timers remember Jen aka choclablover-she and her husband are on the path to adoption, so remember them. They’ve jad a lot of loss and heartbreak over the years, and the lucky child(ren) that have them as parents will be richly blessed!
    Still love y’all…still mean it.

PS-OB, the “Chances Are” I was referring to has also been recorded by (I think) Bob Seger and Martina McBride. If you can find it on youtube (and you should be able to-look up “Hope Floats”) and you can take a listen. I love that movie and the song.

I give a rip and I give a flying fig too! I read it and learned about bear claws and stuff.

And Johnny Mathis is the ultimate. I was in Dallas one time and he was entertaining at the Fairmont. A friend and I were there for dinner and saw a huge bouquet of roses delivered to the front desk and just happened to overhear that they were for Johnny Mathis. We super sluethed it behind the bellhop who delivered them to his room, waited for him to leave, went and knocked on the door, door was opened by a blond who said he wasn’t there (yeah, right), and closed the door. That’s the closest I ever came to busting up in an entertainer’s room. You may go back to your regularly scheduled programing now. But if you’re listening to Johnny Mathis on youtube, give Me and Mrs. Jones a whirl.

Just in case I haven’t mentioned it, Thing 1 is head over heels for a gorgeous curly-haired redhead. They finish each other’s sentences, and her outgoing personality has brought him out of his quiet, worrisome shell. They are both just glowing when they are together. It’s been 7 months so far…and I have a sneaking suspicion I may have met my future daughter-in-law :) Blues, she’s a Leake county girl with a heart of gold. i hope she’s The One.
    :)

    Good mornin’, folks.

Good morning everyone!!!! Hope you all have a great day. By the way the castle is in Raymond not Rankin.

Mawnin’ y’all. Have the first eye cataract surgery scheduled. Have checked out all the insurance stuff that goes along with it. Just have the drug costs to confirm and will do that today. The drops to be used afterward are pretty doggone expensive, but I think they are on the Tricare formulary. Once the left eye is done, I’m having the right eye done. Been toying with the idea of getting the toric lens implant done as well. Right now I’m leaning against that even though it would take me out of regular glasses and people report no problems. I have a personal fear of something going wrong in the future and losing sight.

Headed to the Capitol shortly. Wishing everybody a good day.

    Mornin!

OB, after our Dad had his cataract surgery, he doesn’t need his glasses!

    Have a great day!

By the way no change in PD as of last night. I want get to see him until 10 this morning but dare say any today. He is still in restraints, still on ventilator, he does not focus on anyone when they bring him out of sedation and does not follow command. They immediately put him back under sedation. I don’t have a clue where this road will lead and it is in God’s hands. I a blest that I had the last 3 months with him and the past 2 weeks with him at home and that he accomplished his goal which was to walk again, although that may have been a cause for this now.

morning gang! hope all have a good day.

Mornin. Rained at my house earlier, but looks like it might clear up now. However, I feel a weather-induced headache coming on. Starting to feel a vice tightening on my temples.
Clucky, the castle in Raymond is pretty cool. It’s a mile or so from “downtown” Raymond. Before the original owner died, they decorated it for Christmas and charged people to drive through and see. I don’t know if they do that now. However, it can be rented for weddings, parties, whatever.

We have a shower for the eldest Sunday afternoon at church. Three of her college buddies are coming to stay at our house Saturday night. It’ll be like a D’Now weekend but with all small group leaders instead of youth!

Morning! I actually like this one better than Chances Are:

And this one is a classic and another I personally like better than Chances Are:

Here’s one strictly for fun, not for a wedding: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VQs2HZ8HGWk

I listened to this one recently and made a remark at the bridge table about how beautiful it is. One of the snotty old ladies peered down her nose at me and exclaimed that it has been played at every wedding she had attended for years. Well, la de dah, it still can’t be beat: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c9ZMDPf9hZw

  13. Legal Eagle says:

Well, my last comment is awaiting moderation, so it may be a while.

  14. Legal Eagle says:

I posted 3 songs and that’s probably the reason. This is the ultimate, but one of the snotty old women at the bridge table told me it had been played for every wedding she had attended for years. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c9ZMDPf9hZw

Afternoon! I’ve been a total slug today. I took Baby Darling to a late breakfast. Since then I’ve been sitting in the sun watching the birds and squirrels play.

Daddy had a good day yesterday and he looked good.

    • parrotmom says:

I so wished my Dad was here to comfort me a lunch or breakfast with him would be so enjoyable. Just to have that few minutes.

So glad your Dad is having good days.

  16. dhcoop says:

Whew! I just had to turn my fan under my desk on. It’s warm!

  17. GrammarGirl says:

I know, Coop, and I LOVE it. I have sandals on today!!! Happy camper.

  18. dwb810 says:

Oh, you are so right. Window open, listening to college students as they play on the soccer practice field.

  19. parrotmom says:

It does look nice out. Left PD at 11:00 went to waiting area u
Plugged in phone, put war plugs in, started music, covered up with blankie, and woke up 2o minutes before next visitation at 2:00. Strange my hip hurts at home but doesn’t bother me in this recliner when laying on that side. I wonder what songs I slept through?

  20. parrotmom says:

I walked outside and it feels so nice. I did not know that there was still cell phones with pull out antennas around? I wished their was a couple of extra benches?

  21. dhcoop says:

My Baby Girl just passed the Series 7 Brokerage License exam! She is very excited! It’s a very tough test. From what I read about it, the pass rate for first tries is 67%. I’m so proud!

  22. msblondie says:

everyone have a good evening. about time to head out.

  23. OldBopper says:

Afternoon. The House Public Health Committee passed yet another anti abortion bill even though the 3 females on the committee voted against it. The bill to require your headlights to be on when you are using your wipers came before the Senate Judiciary B committee this afternoon. The bill cleared the Senate Transportation Committee. The Jud B committee killed it. No reason other than they said they had killed it before.

  24. dhcoop says:

    Evenin!

OB that is absolutely ridiculous! Then again, I can’t say I’m surprised.

    Sushi for supper. Yum!
