I’ve heard that public speaking is one of most Americans’ biggest fears (right after seeing your mother-in-law naked.) I’ll take the experts word for it. I personally enjoy it. In fact, I like it as well as drawing cartoons. Why? It gives me a chance to hear laughter. To see how my cartoons work. To get feedback.
Tonight I’ll be speaking to the City of Madison’s Chamber Banquet. It will be a big crowd — I imagine it will be most of the ballroom at the hotel where it will be held. I can’t wait. And I’ll let you know how things turn out. But as of right now, I plan on doing a presentation full of hope. Of how things can get better. I think they need to hear it. Lord knows I do right now.
Now to put together a presentation, take a shower, shave and put on a suit. It’s almost show time.
Enjoy yourself. Hope it all goes well :)
Marshall, I was there for “Live at the Hilton”, and enjoyed it immensely. You kept us laughing (as always), and your positive outlook about this stressful life was very welcome. We all enjoy your work on paper, and to see and hear it live was a treat. Keep up the good work and the great attitude!
