Good morning. Feels like I was just here yesterday! Hope everyone has safe travels into work and that the bad storms stay away. Yesterday was one year ago when the tornado went through Clinton and hit part of our neighborhood.

    Mornin!

I’m a wee bit sore from the work this weekend, but it was worth it.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Good morning! Picking up “Rider” from the vet this morning. He could have come home on Saturday, but with two hyperactive grandsons in the house, I decided to wait until today.

Oldest daughter’s car conked out north of Canton yesterday so we took her my car and had her car towed to our mechanic. That way she and the grands have transportation.

Hope this finds everybody doing good. With the wedding over, PQ and I crashed last night. Anxious to get life back to normal now.

Morning! Wet and stormy up here. Keep an eye on the sky and stay safe!

Morning! I like Marshall’s comment at the top. My “launch” is more like a catapult. Rainy here. But it has been a good rain. Good for the garden. I just hope my hens haven’t scratched up all of my onions I planted last week.

I have also sowed some wildflower seeds in my front beds. Hope this rain brings them right on up. I’ve watered them, but nothing beats ozone laden rain.

    Hey folks.

Just checking in. Having some good days off. Hoping to hear something soon about work. Everybody take care.

It’s still a drippy day. At least I got home before the 5:00 o’clock traffic started.

El got her braces off today, so she is a very happy camper.

Someone noticed a bubble on one of Em’s tires at church last night. I went by Lucedale Tire and paid for a new one this morning, then told Em to go by and they’d put it on after school. I was with El in Pascagoula, so I couldn’t handle it myself. All is good now. Have I mentioned how much I like living in a small town?

Our state Bible Drill is tomorrow at Temple Baptist in H’burg. Thursday is a shower for the eldest at her work (the bank). Hopefully, I’ll be packed by then because I leave for Peru on Friday morning.

Hi MrsH, so glad for the update from you. Glad it all went well.

I just was startled to find Tinker Bell had been in the house all day. I looked and looked for her this morning but with the door open I thought she ran on out and went to the neighbors. Even though I lock the parrot up I left home about 6:00 this evening and was gone for 30 minutes with the parrot outside the cage. I am glad that this kittie girl isn’t as aggressive as the other kittie girl or I would not have a live parrot right now. I can’t figure where she could have been. Note to self be more careful next time. The Parrot may not be that lucky next time around.

  13. dhcoop says:

    Evenin!

PM, you were lucky. She was probably just asleep somewhere. Glad she didn’t take the parrot out!

I’m exhausted. Didn’t get home from work till 9. But all is well!

Evening. Been working on name tags for our 50th HS reunion this weekend. I promised to do that and the music.

I’m putting the senior picture from the year book on the name tag for the class member and married spouse or significant other so we at least know who belongs to whom. I always do the music and will make a few six cd sets of oldies for door prizes.

Got oldest daughter’s car repaired today and had the tires rotated and balanced. Looking for a time to drive it up to Southaven to exchange automobiles.

Blues, glad you are getting a little bit of home time. Your career reminds me of the Navy. Once deployed, ships stay a sea for months before coming home. The worst are aircraft carriers and submarines. They stay out for very long deployments.

  15. Msblondie says:

Pm. Wow. You got real lucky. Glad parrot is ok.

Well think my girls will kill by end of year… 2 graduations and a wedding. M will graduate in may, C looking for october wedding then will graduate in December. It is going to be wild around here.

Well off to bed gotta fly to Dallas tomorrow for trip to that office.. Will be back tomorrow nite.

Well, the rain didn’t start in earnest here til around 630. Sorry I’ve been off the grid, but the lack of sleep coupled with being out all day Saturday flat wore me out. My allergies have been rough this year, and I’m trying to get a sinus infection-at least it will be the first one this year. I’m typically on number 2 or 3 by this time of year.
Poppy’s Murano started missing last week, and has gone from bad to worse. I pray with less than 55K miles on it (In spite of being 6 years old), any repairs will be covered by warranty. I’ll get on the horn with the Nissan dealership in the morning. I got my tax refund yesterday (WHEW!) but was planning to use that to “bridge the gap” until I get paid again. Now that I am on long-term disability, I will only get paid once a month. That is going to HURT, but it’s non-taxable, so hopefully it will pan out to my usual pay. Still 5 more weeks til my next appointment; I have my fingers crossed 3 times over that I’ll get to start therapy. Staying home this long is really bringing me down, and being unable to do what really needs doing is driving all of us nuts.
If the work is covered under warranty, I’ll take it to Meridian one day after lunch and have them take me to the mall so I can see The Hunger Games during matinee. Looking forward to The Avengers, which comes out May 4. Y’all know I love me some Iron Man! (Chicklette’s boyfriend calls Mr Fab ‘Tony Stark’, who is the man in the IronMan suit and Robert Downey Jr.’s character.) Chicklette’s room is finally coming together. All it needs now is baseboards and closet doors! The boys have been kind enough to get all of Mom’s clothes, etc out of the closets and have moved all of it to the back of her house. We need to get it all out so they can put in their refrigerator, stove, washer and dryer. We looked at storage units this weekend, but I just cannot see paying so much for such a small place. I’ve got the boys following my supervision to clean out room in our garage for now. Hopefully ai can have a mega yard sale May 4 & 5 to get rid of all the clothes me and the kids have outgrown, along with Mama’s clothes. What doesn’t sell will be donated. There is a church that is located in Lakeshore MS that is asking for mattresses, beds, clothes, and everything else up to and including the kitchen sink. They will pick up, so that is probably who I will call. I need to get my laptop replaced since Ms Genius here broke the screen on my laptop. Everyone I have talked to says to ditch it, but ai’ve wondered about finding another “body for it” and moving all the innards to it. I’m pretty sure that ain’t gonna happen, but a girl can dream, right? Until then, I’ll hook it up to a moniter and move everything to my external hard drive. If anyone has a used and functional laptop for sell, please let me know!
It feels nice outside right now. The rain has stopped for the moment, and the smell of our jasmine reaches all the way to the front of the house. No pollen! Woohoo!
BTW, our trip to state Bible drils was Saturday at FBC, Clinton. Chicklette didn’t score very well, but for six of our kids, this was their first year in the youth division. That 2 seconds they shave off in time per call really threw her for a loop. She will be ready next year! We went to the outfitter store in Highland Village and found Tom’s on sale!! Chicklette got a pair of burlap flats, and we both got a pair of matching (gasp!) brown houndstooth wedges. I hope they feel as good on my feet walking in the for hours as they did when I tried them on. They felt nice :)
Coop, speaking of gardening, I still have plants to pot, seeds to start, etc. I’m looking for a strawberry jar. I know-good luck with that!
Did I tell y’all we were given a gray Persian last week? He has found his voice, and he and my kitty of the same age are buddies. They were spooning yesterday when I awakened. So cute. Bless his heart, he looks like he got smacked in the face with a cast iron skillet! LOL!
    Love y’all-mean it.
