Monday Free-For-All

Thanks for your patience on the blog.  It went down in Hindenburg-fashion and thankfully has been restored.  I’m sorry I missed the picnic. Saturday was the only day I had to work on my porch and my wife Amy was pretty determined to get it finished this weekend. I’m traveling again this week and will be working again next weekend.  I missed y’all badly.

Morning folks! Sorry I had to miss the gathering but my family had to come first in my priorities!

morning gang! I hated I had to miss Saturday as well, but family does come first. The kids had a great time at the graduation party Saturday afternoon/night. My mom’s street will never be the same color after the paint fight they had.

Happy Birthday to MrsH and my Future SIL!

    everyone have a great day!

Aftwrnoon everyone and welcome back to the cyber world Marshall. One less thing for you to worry about for the moment.

We missed all of you who could not attend Saturday. I understand family comes first as the reason I was not there in 2011. We missed Marshall also, but we know sometimes when you have a free weekend off it isn’t always off either.

Hi everybody! I am so glad the Hindenburg was restored!

Flying through! I did enjoy Saturday. I went by Clucky’s house and spent almost two hours. We had a great visit. Coop, she gave me a confederate rose that she rooted from the one she got from you. :)

Oh, and Clucky, I stepped in to see Mama and Daddy last night. There was a poster on the table that my nephew put together. It was of the Titanic. I giggled.

Today would have been our friend Jo’s birthday. I pray she is at a much better party than any she could attend here. :)

    • cardinallady says:

No wonder Jo has been on my mind. Thanks for the reminder. And God, thanks for the memories of such a dear friend.

I still get Jo’s image on Facebook that comes up from time-to-time.

      Happy Birthday, MrsH!

  9. OldBopper says:

Wow, Jo. Thanks MrsH for the memory! We went to view/purchase wedding photographs this afternoon. They’ll be ready in about three weeks.

BTW, for those who haven’t seen them. Pictures of the Pic-A-Nic are posted on Facebook.

I’ve really missed the blog, though I don’t post much.

We lost a member of my extended family on Sunday. Cub’s best friends’ dad who was also considered Cub’s second father, Hubby’s best friend and my hero! Please just keep my family (and his) in your prayers. This is going to take some time to get over.

He was doing what he loved, riding his bike on the trace. Hubby would have been with him if he had received G’s text.

    Thanks for your time,
    pnc.

Prayers for you and your extended family PNC.

Boss Man, we understand why you weren’t able to be with us Saturday. But hey, Elvis still has fanclubs going strong and he’s there in spirit only.

We just got back from eating sushi and other things at the Chinese place in front of Wal-Mart in Pearl. The quiet man who makes the sushi and never smiles or says much, saw me coming tonight and his smile spread wide and he was picking out sushi and putting it on my plate and then came around and dipped me up a container of soy sauce. Wow, I don’t know what happened to him but it’s all good.

We went to the fundraiser at Pearl Park yesterday and I was delighted to see such a huge crowd in attendance. I understand about $30,000.00 was raised and will go to Mike’s widow and daughter.

Checking in. All the working next door and then the kids bringing load after load of Mom’s stuff to our house last night has worn me out. I’m hurting a lot in my neck, and seeing and going through so much of Mom’s things has my heart turned inside out. Two years and change since she passed away, but feels like it was yesterday. I know many of you think I need to “suck it up and move on.” Welcome to the pit that is depression. There, I said it. Now I’m rolling over and going back to my cave.

Love y’all-so sorry I wasn’t there Saturday, but there was just no way. So happy to have CLady come for a visit. Somehow she got lost in this booming metropolis. As OB can testify, that took some serious effort. LOL!

    • parrotmom says:

LOL about CLady getting lost in your Metropolis. I would probably do the same. I may give it a try one day Clucky.

I don’t think time afterwards makes it any better to go through such personal items. That is why I still have a few boxes here that I have barely touched since my Dad’s death in 1999. I need to do better with some of PD’s stuff. Just waiting on some motivation.

Hello Everyone! Missed all of you. I sure wish things were better so hubby and I can meet all of you face to face.
