Good morning Marshall, Safe travels and enjoy your trip.

Good morning everyone else. Good luck Clucky dealing with the gubnit isn’t easy when talking about disability. They would assume you loose everything first.
MrsH is on countdown as is the parents of grads from high school now. Prayers God will get you through it all and have a memory of what all happened in that flash of a moment.

I think I lost yesterday in the shuffle! We had several tasks to accomplish and, believe it or not, we knocked the majority of them out before 8:30 a.m.!!! Something that I thought would take all day was MUCH quicker than I anticipated. :)

Word of advise: NEVER plan a social event in a facility listed with the Department of History and Archives. There are so many rules that it really takes away the enjoyment of the beauty of the place. However, I am not being Momzilla of the Bride. I’m just saying yes… I understand… don’t worry…. If I hear that man say “according to History and Archives” one more time…….

    • Old Bopper says:

Wish I had known. The Director of the Department is a long time personal friend. Could have allayed some of their fears.

Good morning from Tupelo. It’s beautiful outside. CSpire customers get a chance to check the outside weather often. No signal in my room but outside, standing under my window, I have three bars.

Staying at the Wingate on what I think is Hwy 78. I have learned that this is the best deal in Tupelo. Very nice, well kept rooms. Snacks and canned drinks in the early evening and a full breakfast in the morning. Quite reasonable too.

Noticed a sign in Japanese at breakfast near a crockpot full of rice surrounded by various rice spices and toppings. Glad to know we don’t expect them to read Redneck.

MrsH, bet that wedding will be as beautiful as the bride. What a sweet young lady she is!

Y’all have a good day. I’ll probably be headed toward Brandon about noonish.

Got the girl to school-today’s the last day! When she finishes her exam, to the clinic we go. 4 days at the pool and it looks like she already has staph at the base of her knee. She is not a happy camper. Tonight is graduation, and a bunch of the underclassmen (and at least one graduate) are planning to go bowling. I think she’s gonna have to sit this one out.

  5. msblondie says:

morning gang! hope all have a good day.

  6. dhcoop says:

    Mornin!

Sounds like everyone is up and running today. Had an email this morning from Baby Girl and my two grands have got her hopping with last day stuff as well.

Poor Chicklette! Maybe it’s not staph and she’ll get to go bowling.

Hope everyone has a great day!

I’m drinking coffee and shuffling last minute changes in the bridge lineup for today. Sigh! We have to be dressed and at the Community Center in about an hour for the monthly Pearl senior luncheon and then I will stay for the bridge game immediately following.

    • blues4you says:

heh heh….”shuffling changes/bridge game”…I see what you did there.

      • Legal Eagle says:

Good one, Blues! I didn’t even realize what I was saying. Of course, if you had heard what I said to BE at Brandon Day last week and then realized as soon as I said it, what I had said, you would get a big kick out of that too.

  8. blues4you says:

    Hey y’all.

I feel ya’ ,clucks. I really do.

Well, I’m off to the mower. People gon’ miss me around the ‘hood if I ever go to work.

I’ve asked for prayers for Orville in the past as he continues to fight his battle with cancer and they are still much needed. He’s had a lot of issues lately that had him in hospital for 9 days (fever with infection being found in his spinal fluid), but getting extensive treatment for it & starting to do better.

I am now asking for prayers for my 80-year-old dad, too. Mom took him to the ER this past Saturday with severe stomach pains & he’s still in the hospital today. He was diagnosed with pancreatitis brought on by gall stones. During the xrays & scans they saw the hiatal hernia that’s given him fits for many years now. It’s the largest one they’ve seen (his stomach has twisted up inside the hernia) & want to repair it laproscopically when his gallbladder is removed (laproscopically, too). This will be a very dangerous surgery & it will take a specialized surgeon on their staff to perform the surgery. He’s out of town until this coming Tuesday & surgery will be Wedneday. Dad remains in pain without food or water, but with IV fluids running & giving him meds for the pain. Tried to give him clear liquids last night because he was feeling better, but it brought on another attack of stomach pains so had to take away anything by mouth. :’-(

PLEASE PRAY that the Dear Lord takes care of my dad & my husband, that He guides the doctors in their treatment, that He helps them heal & makes them both ‘right as rain’! Thank you!

    • Airwolf says:

Prayers for Orville and your Dad.

    • Legal Eagle says:

I certainly have been for you and Orville and will for your dad too. I have a hiatal hernia myself and I know how anything concerning the digestive system can cause havoc. When I found out I had mine, I was having chest pains and pain running down my left arm and when I got to the emergency room, they put a nitroglycerin tablet under my tongue, thinking I was having a heart attack.

  12. parrotmom says:

CornPop so sorry to have this double dose. Will be praying. I have a neice that had to go almost 3 months without nothing by mouth because of her pancreatitis it can be very painful. May God be with your Dad and Orville to help bring them through their issues.

  13. dhcoop says:

I’m sorry to hear about your Dad, CP. I hope they can get him fixed up next week! Continuing prayers for Orville, too.

  14. Airwolf says:

I forgot to check in. Been running to and fro, accomplishing very little.

We had our monthly seniors luncheon in Pearl today and Linda Allen from Channel 12 was our speaker. She has the most wonderful and distinctive voice. She got lost trying to find the community center and ended up in Brandon and had to come back to us, so we got to go through the buffet while we were waiting. We had chicken salad, pasta salad, green salad and watermelon, cantalope and honeydew melon for lunch. I got good cards today and that’s always fun. A friend is picking us up at 6:25 a.m. to go to the Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast, and I’m holding my breath that I get up in time. I have to.

  16. Old Bopper says:

Corn Pop, prayers ascending. Hope they both get good news soon.

Home from Tupelo. Stopped by motorcycle shops in Tupelo and Starkville on the way. Nothing of interest at either. There’s a store located out in the middle of nowhere in Arkansas that has double or triple the inventory of both of those stores combined.

Think I’ll take Boule out after supper.

  17. Mrs. H says:

Dear Father, You know every need. You created us and know us down to the number of hairs on our heads. You know exactly what these children of Yours need. We ask that You guide their doctors and caregivers as they take care of them. It is the desire of our hearts that they be made right as rain. We know that with You, all things are possible. Thank You, Father, for letting us come to You with every need we have.
In the precious name of Your one and only Son,
    Amen.

  18. Legal Eagle says:

I just found out that we lost a great musician today with the death of Donna Summer.
