8:18 a.m. Good morning! I’ve been up since 6:40 and I don’t know why. I guess because it’s Saturday and I don’t want to waste any of the weekend, or something.

I know MrsH’s family is having a special day today, the last morning one of their children has at home before leaving to start a home of her own. God bless all of you and the festivities of the wedding.

Pearl Day is going strong today and the mayor said yesterday that there are children’s activities and rides and things for families and it’s all free. So is the concert tonight, which will feature Sawyer Brown and two other bands. I saw our police chief, Ben Schuler, Thursday and he still had a haunted look in his eyes since the death of Mike Walter. I saw him again yesterday at the prayer breakfast and had to give him a hug and thank him for everything he and the other police officers do. We are so lucky in Pearl to have such a fine Christian mayor and police chief.

    Morning! It’s a beautiful day!

MrsH I know the wedding will be perfect!

OB I somehow missed the fact that you were so close! Call me next time and we’ll have you over!

Good morning I have been up a while and trying to keep busy, trying to squash feelings and thoughts so I can be prepared for being sweet as honey starting tomorrow for a couple of days. Loosing PD is not so much the battle of being alone but the realization that no family per se that will love you for you and unconditionally is no longer present. I am judged by persons that don’t know me and apparently never will after 28 plus years.

Everyone have a grand day. Thinking of MrsH’s family on their joyous occasion may God bless this happy union.

    Still wondering about Molly?

home again, home again, jiggity jig!

I found one of my dad’s picture album from Germany from 1953 or 54. Why are the two books not with each other. Still searching for the 2nd book.

  6. parrotmom says:

finally found it. My Dad served 1952-53. His dogtag has T51-T52. I so wished him and I would have gone through those books one more time with the type marker required to label what, who, where. One album cover has Souvenir from Germany. The other has a map and on one side has French Zone and the other has German Zone, both are leather I think. Of course the pictures are of him and his unit. I know OB and AW are no where near the age my dad would be, but would love someone to look at these with me and maybe tell me more about the location and the type weapons that are in some of them. The postcards are easy.

At the end of WWII Berlin proper was divided into four zones or sectors, French, British, Russian and US. After the Berlin wall was built it remained that way with Russia controlling everything to the east. The wall extended through Germany north to south until the wall fell in 1989. I would love to see the albums.

Rode down to Hattiesburg Cycles today to see if they had any Suzuki’s in stock. Absolutely no cruisers. They guy said he could probably get me one from another dealer. I’m thinking. Suzuki has a sale offering 0% for five years. That’s just real hard to beat. I have found two in the Jackson area and I think there may be one in the Vicksburg area. The deal ends on May 31. One of those in Jackson is a C50 which I have and the other is a M109. The 109 is out of my price range. If I don’t find anything, I’ll still be happy with Boule. I just figure this is a great time to make a deal.

Think I’m going to check in Baton Rouge, Birmingham, and Mobile.

AW we may just have to set a date and me and my parrot take a road trip. Dad said his platoon was on the border and that if war broke out they would have been the first hit. I guess this would have been the end of the Korean war? I am going to scan one of the pics and put on FB. Hopefully you will get to see it.

OB good luck on your cycle hunting.

Took me a while but the picture is finally on FB. It turned out to be an official picture. The typing on the back was very light and hard to read.

10:40 p.m. We just got back from Pearl Day and it was awesome! We got there at 5:30, in time to see South 20 and I caught a rubber bracelet with their name on it. T-shirts and rubber Braves balls were thrown out between bands and BE caught me a t-shirt and 2 rubber baseballs. Restless Heart performed next and then Sawyer Brown sang for over an hour. It’s hard to believe that on April 1st, they have been together 31 years. I remember seeing them at Rapids when we had season passes which included all of the concerts that were played there. Back then they all had hair, but even though some have less hair than they did then, they still rock!!!

Glad u had a good time LegalE.

The pic I posted tonight us showing under my wall photos. The picture listed 4 of the 5 men on the first row. I was able to google two out if the four. A Timbetman and the other was Handy. I found a partial obit on Hartness.

    Good Sunday morning! 7:18 am.

You would think I had somewhere to go today, but nothing is packed. I forgot to give the parrot his shower on Saturday plus I didn’t was out his cage bottom. Did I mention I am not looking forward to this. I should enjoy the compant, but needless to say some tensions may be a little high.
