    Safe travels, Marshall.

  2. Mrs. H says:

This week has seemed very long. I’m so glad today is Friday. I think Em&EL have a shopping trip planned for us today. A week from Monday, they go to camp in Ft. Walton. Then 4 days after they get back, Em leaves to be part of the M4 Crew at Mark’s camps for 2 weeks. They need shorts and a one piece bathing suit, which is not really easy to find.

    Mornin!

Happy Friday! Have a safe trip, Marshall. Glad the weather is going to be nice.

  4. Mrs. H says:

This is the status posted by a friend of mine last night: That moment when you come out of the bathroom without your glasses on and glimpse your spare leg that has fallen over in the closet, exposing the foot and you think there’s a murderer in your house with well-manicured feet… (Don’t you hate it when that happens?)
She lost a leg at the age of 2 due to burns she received in a horrendous fire in the family garage. She has scars that would keep most women in a burka. And yet she has the most positive outlook of anyone I know. She tops MR in my hero book, and that really is high praise!

  5. Airwolf says:

    Morning! Be safe MR.

Sipping coffee, packing and headed north in a while.

  6. Mrs. H says:

I think I’m going to take some coffee and knitting to the front porch. Later, friends……

Mawnin’. Long day yesterday. FIL didn’t want to spend the night on the coast so we made a loooong day trip. Left here at 5:30 am and got home shortly after 9 pm. It was worth every minute. We had a good trip to the coast, ate seafood, saw the results of Katirina, visited with some of Dad’s friends, got his retired ID card updated, bought stuff at the commissary and talked and talked and talked.

For you motorcyclers: I read about a head light bulb, Sylvania H4ST. It’s a halogen bulb that bikers rave about. Tried to buy one locally at three different stores but unsuccessful. Finally ordered one on line. It came in yesterday and I installed it last night after getting home. Took the bike out for test ride in the dark and was very pleased at the result of using the new bulb. An excellent improvement over the standard bulb. The cost: About $22 including shipping.

Good morning and safr travels Marshall. Hope everyone is havong a good Friday.

I’m posting a little later than usual with my question. Is the place for getting car tags downtown still on the corner of this street and that street? Can’t remember the names of them.. I usully go to Raymond but may want to head to Fondren for lunch and thought about stopping at that office. I also want to check the deed on my house is right to survivorship. The original in 1992 was but we refinanced in 2002 and I don’t have proof to this wording.

  9. msblondie says:

morning gang! happy friday to all.

MR – M will heading to Meridian here in abit.. she is working a soccer tourny over there tomorrow, but has to be there this afternoon for meetings.

  10. Mrs. H says:

Hey! Dr. T just called and informed me that beginning July 1 churches can file an affidavit of exemption from sales tax on their utilities. Power, water, natural gas. I hadn’t heard about it and I’m betting most of your churches haven’t either.
    Give them this link: http://www.dor.ms.gov/docs/sales_ChurchUtilities_1.pdf
Embedded in it is a link to the actual affidavit they can download, get notarized and take to their utility providers.

Consider this a public service announcement. You may now resume your regularly scheduled chat.

MOrning everbody. Flying through. Got a board meeting at 10. Have been up most of the night nursing my one surviving pup through parvo. Got he to the point of drinking water by herself this morning. That is a giant step forward. Have been praying for her.

  12. Clucky says:

    It’s been a week.

I’ll be glad when T gets home from work and gets his mood shifted from work to home. It’s not been a good one for him. I’m reminded of the stress I’m no longer under day to day, and I’m thankful I no longer have to deal with it. I know if you can’t do what you like, then like what you do, but it was impossible to have any job satisfaction when you’re getting stomped down every where you turn.

Today is the kickoff of the State Games of Mississippi in Meridian. I would live to go harass MR, but Meridian is a decent size town and it’s too hot to be riding around just looking…

Watched Ironman back to back on Fx last night. Slept like a kitten :D
    Dallas was awesome, btw!

    ttfn!

  13. parrotmom says:

Clucky I agree I enjoyed Dallas. I read some comments from the critics and I think they were way off target. I know several people that like the reality tv shows and the AGT, AI, etc. but it was good to see something different and was very entertaining.

I have my tag, I also checked the wording on the house and it remains as the initial paper work stated. I couldn’t be more excited over that and taxes, but would rather just cry—strange emotions.

    Roosters for lunch—yum, yum!!

  14. Legal Eagle says:

Whew!!! I managed not to commit myself to being anywhere today and didn’t get a call yesterday or this morning saying I was needed at the noon bridge game today in Brandon. I just finished reading another C.J. Box book entitled “Blue Heaven,” which was a stand alone book, not about Joe Pickering, and set in Idaho. I have loved every one of his books so far. I was at the library yesterday, swapping in the read for the new adventures to be read, and found the newest one by Dorothea Benton Frank called “Porch Lights.” She is from Sullivan’s Island, South Carolina, and her books and set there and around the low country. I’m on page 104 and love it as I have her other books.

  15. dhcoop says:

    Downpour in downtown Jtown!!

  16. parrotmom says:

    Same in Clinton, rain, rain.

  17. Legal Eagle says:

We got a huge downpour in Pearl with lots of thunder.

  18. Airwolf says:

Home, 6.5 hours. Butt is numb!

  19. msblondie says:

everyone have a great weekend! it is time to wrap it up

  20. Mrs. H says:

Went camp shorts shopping with the girls. Em found a 1 piece bathing suit that looks like something Audrey Hepburn would wear. I love it that they don’t complain about bathing suit rules.

  21. dhcoop says:

    Evenin!

Agenda tomorrow…picking blueberries, house cleaning… Big Sis is coming HOME!!! Next weekend our foreign wanderer will arrive back on US soil!! It will be SO good to see her! Can’t wait to hear her stories!

I have in my possession a single ripe tomato harvested from our garden in CS. They are coming in well, but I just brought one with me. I’m planning on enjoying a tomato sandwich tomorrow for lunch. I can’t say it will be my FIRST homegrown tomato sandwich of the year, but it will be the first from one of MY plants. :) I hope to report exceptional flavor, etc…we’ll see.

I hope everyone is enjoying their evening!

  22. parrotmom says:

    Evening!!!
Coop, I hope it is as wonderful as you expect it to be. To have not worked today I am worn out. I guess the running a few places, being anxious about having my taxes done. I don’t usually e-file but decided too. I have some video stuff to do so should be busy at home this weekend.

  23. Legal Eagle says:

Groan……just got back from across the border…from getting lottery tickets….to a pre-birthday seafood buffet dinner at Ameristar with caesar salad, boiled shrimp, oysters on the half shell, crab legs, grilled oysters, beef ribs, pork ribs, big plump juicy sweet strawberries dipped in the chocolate fountain, flan, warm chocolate chip cookie, and some sweet tart kinda thing with coconut in it that may be the best thing I’ve ever eaten.

  24. Mrs. H says:

how about we say Saturday starts here?

I’m baking a chocolate cake today. The recipe on the back of the Swan’s Down cake flour box is the best I’ve ever had. Not to be confused with the one on their web site, which is NOT the same.

  25. OldBopper says:

Happy Saturday! Slept in big time today. Fixing to shower and mount up for a ride this morning. Gotta go to a wedding this evening.

Coop, I would like a real Mississippi homegrown tomato. Still haven’t had one with any taste.

AW hope your storm damage is minimal.

BTW, guess you all heard. The papers in Birmingham, Huntsville, Mobile and Pascagoula are all in layoff/cutback mode. Don’t know if they belong to the same group that has the New Orleans paper.

I really expect Gannett to come up with a Central Mississippi paper by combining Jackson and Hattiesburg, ala USA Today. But being the kind of folks they are, they may just take their marbles and run.

    Later Dudes!

  26. dhcoop says:

    Happy Saturday Mornin!

Woke up during the night and couldn’t go back to sleep. Finally did, then overslept. About to go pick blueberries till the heat runs me in.

    Later folks!

  27. blues4you says:

    Good saturday morning.

I’ll be rigging-down later today. I doubt if I’ll be through in time to head home. 10 yrs ago it wouldn’t be an issue, but I’m gettin’ old. A six hour drive across I-20 on a saturday night? No thanks. I’ll pass on that. Try to get a good night’s sleep and hit it in the morning.

Hope everyone has a good weekend.
