Saturday Free-For-All

I APOLOGIZE about how late this is. I got up at 5:30, ran nine miles (and nearly sweat to death) and then came home, took a shower and fell back to sleep. I just woke up. Guess I needed it.

    That’s ok, Boss.

Sigh….waiting on haliburton to finish their procedures…..that’ll be another couple of hours….then i’ll have 3-4hours of outside work by myself. I let my workmate go home early. His son as 1st birthday today. He had about a 4 hour drive home.

MrsBlues and I have been married for 28 years today.

Congratulations to Mr. & Mrs. Blues! Happy Anniversary.

Was in your neighborhood about an hour ago. There were about ten bikers there and then about a hundred bikers drove in. They were on a charity run from Got Gear. I left to get ahead of the crowd.

        Thanks, OB, Legal, and coop.

Bullyduck and her sister headed up-river to Flag Island with the all the other River Ducks. They’ll be there all day unless it rains.

I should be home tomorrow around noonish.

1:00 p.m. Happy Anniversary, Blues and Bully Duck, and many happy more!!!

BE went to Bolton this morning to work on our land and I’ve been finishing “Porch Lights” by Dorothea Benton Frank. I dare you to read this book and not shed a tear and a lot of gusty laughs. I’ve been snivelling and snotting all morning and I would happily say that you must read this book.

    Afternoon!

    Happy Anniversary Blues & BullyDuck!

Got more blueberries picked this morning, then ate that mater sammich for lunch. It was YUMMY! OB, they’ve been having some really good MS homegrowns at McDades the past few days. You should be able to find some somewhere.

I finally got around to cleaning the last fire’s ashes out of my fireplace. It didn’t get much use this past winter. It is now swept clean with a nice candle arrangement sitting on top of the grate. Floors are mopped and the family wedding pictures that were used in the eldest’s wedding are hanging on the wall in their new frames. We’ll have to go to town later to get some ribs to smoke tomorrow. Em paid El back for a $10 loan with a roll of quarters. El was not really pleased but I told her I could change it when we go to town.

Hey folks! I’ve been mowing my lawn/hay field! Boy is it hot!!

The mother of my youngest grandchild called and had 3 of my grandchildren at the skating rink right behind me, so I went over there and watched the 12-year-old boy (who was at last year’s MRBA picnic) and 9-year-old girl skate and watched the 2-year-old boy get into stuff. He’s the son of one of my twins and looks just like his daddy and acts just like his identical uncle. She doesn’t need twins with this one. He’s two rolled into one.

Legal, just where is that skating rink you are always talking about? Is it on HWY 80?

Just returned from a Greek wedding. Left them all dancing in circles and having a good time. It was a nice wedding and I’m glad we went.

12:15 a.m. OB, Funtime Skating is still alive and well. If you are travelling west on Highway 80 from your house, cross Airport Road. The next light will be at Pearl High School. In the next block you will see the fire station and then Mac’s gas. Turn left between Mac’s gas and the car lot on the corner, right before you get to Sonic. There will be woods on your left after you turn. I live on the 3rd steeet to the right, just past the dumpster. Go straight to the 4th turn and turn right into the Funtime Skating Rink parking lot.

My eldest and her husband attended a wedding with his parents today. She told me she’d try not to be too critical!
