Good morning to everyone. I agree Marshall they did do a wonderful job.

  2. Mrs. H says:

Good morning. We went to Mr. H’s mom’s yesterday after church. When Em asked the eldest if she was coming, she said that they were waiting on the Dish installer, but since Maw-Maw had never seen her house, why didn’t we come over there? So we did. And discovered the in-laws were there. We visited for a few minutes and then they headed home (just a block away). It is a very small place and 10 people overwhelms it!!

  3. OldBopper says:

Happy Monday everybody! Another beautiful but hot day out there. I checked the weather in St. Louis since we will be going to a ball game there later this week and found they are sharing our heat, or maybe we are sharing theirs. I feel for those on the east coast with heat and no electricity.

I am willing to recommend Blues’ ice cream to everybody. He doesn’t make as many flavors as Blue Bell, but the one he does make is plenty good. He only offered me a taste, but sitting under a big ole shade tree eating Blues’ hand cranked ice cream would be a great way to spend an afternoon.

  4. msblondie says:

morning gang! hope everyone has a great day!

  5. cardinallady says:

Morning! Flying through. Gotta finish a story and write another one before I go to a supervisors meeting, plus meet with the fire coordinator. All within this HOUR.

My day got off to a good start though. I let my chickens out, fertilized my tomatoes, watered my front hedge (with dishwater). I’m not letting any water go down the drain that I can. I’m using it to water the things around the house that need it. I spent time washing dishes. Now if I can get the floors swept and the furniture washed. It’s beyond dusting. It’s gonna take some Murphy’s oil soap and a bucket.

Blues … ice cream, home made …. I’ve been craving it. I guess I’ll suggest it for our small fourth of July gathering at mom’s. It’s going to be strange. All the kids are scattered somewhere. My little sister Kirsten’s baby and 10 year old will be the only kids.

Alright, the clock is ticking. Gotta fly!

thought for the day: Look for life’s rainbows. They are always around.

  6. Airwolf says:

Morning! I’ve got to get outside and cut some of this dry grass! Gonna be dusty!

Very happy that Banjo is better!

    Stay cool!

  7. dhcoop says:

    Mornin!

Got a busy two days before I take off for the holiday.

So glad to hear Banjo is better!

    Later, folks!

  8. Legal Eagle says:

Hey, y’all. I somehow managed to miss Sunday’s FFA altogether. I see Feeble Eagle is back! Aaaaaaawwwwwwwkkkkkkkkk!!!! OB, I’m sorry to break it to you, dear, but you will never be as old as I am. And while I don’t personally have a cane, I know enough people who do that I can borrow one with no problem at all.

I’m playing bridge at noon and then I’ve been invited to fill in with the Monday night group, so I have to make sure I get home from the first so I can leave for the second on time. In the meantime, I’m calling my folks trying to line up an even number for Thursday’s game and my phone just beeped that it needs recharging. Darn these cell phones. I’m going to have to watch the Bachelorette on Comcast demand or abc.com because the home visits to the families of the last 4 bachelors is tonight.

Blues, I need to get your phone number and e-mail address so I can arrange to get to one of those barbecues. My e-mail is myname@comcast.net. Seems like I remember something about you not being on Facebook anymore.

  9. blues4you says:

    Good morning.

I need to do what AW’s doing today. I hate to because the grass will just turn brown when I do it. We’ve been watering our small lawn, but the rest of the neighborhood hasn’t been able to.(they’re only here on weekeends)

Leftovers are gonna be good today. I was really proud how the rosemary/lemon chicken turned out.(humble brag)

    Sent you my digits Legal.

    • cardinallady says:

Rosemary lemon chicken? Bluuuuuuueeeesssss did I tell you yet that I love you? I must have that recipe! of course it won’t have your sweet touch but maybe I can make it edible.

      • blues4you says:

I think the key is to have fresh rosemary. My neighbor has a bush that is prolific. I break off 3 or 4 sprigs.

Wash and pat dry whole chicken
slice a lemon in half and squezze the juice all over the chicken
rub chicken w/thyme and lots of paprika, salt pepper and garlic powder
stuff chicken with the lemon halves/rosemary and a couple of green onions
place on smoker @ 250 degrees for 2 hours
take off smoker and wrap in tinfoil to let rest

slice to your preference and enjoy with a side dish of summer squash and corn on the cobb

  10. Airwolf says:

Grass is cut and I’m hottttt.. Xxxx

  11. Barb says:

OB and Blues, thanks for the welcome back on the last 2 FFAs. It is so good to be back!!

  12. msblondie says:

it is hot outside and inside… my office a/c is screwed up.. the maintence guy is working on it but no luck yet… and this is not good since the servers are in my office.

  13. Mrs. H says:

A 15 year old was killed here in town this morning in a work related accident at his family-owned business. Prayers for his family.

  14. msblondie says:

everyone have a good evening.. it is time to get out of here.

  15. parrotmom says:

    Blues your cooking sounded awesome.

  16. cardinallady says:

I’m done and I don’t have to write that last story!!! No room in the paper. *giggle* I can just wait until Thursday. Am going home to clean house. ta ta!

  17. parrotmom says:

iphone help. I was editing PD from being my ICE number as deleted the contact and the last and only picture of him before his surgery and everything with south last November? The picture is not in my photos. Does anyone know how I can recover that picture?

    • Airwolf says:

If you synced the phone lately, itmight be saved!

      • parrotmom says:

The picture was taken as a contact picture and for some reason it doesn’t put it with the other photos, why? I will check with the Apple store this week.

        • OldBopper says:

There is a device that looks like a memory stick where you can insert your phone card and then put the device to a usb port and download. The device is only $10. We bought one to download pics from our old phones. It does not download phone numbers, emails, texts and such….only pictures.

Can’t guarantee the price at the Apple store. Got ours at CSpire.

  18. DWB810 says:

Hello everyone. Hope you all are surviving this heat. It was only 102 today but we had a threat of showers and the temperature dropped to 86. No showers but I will take that drop in temps.
I hope Banjo is home and enjoying the love of his family.

  19. parrotmom says:

I updated my phone and synced it a couple of days ago with my computer. I don’t do the pictures because it wants to try and save the ones on my computer. I must be doing something wrong. ya think?

  20. Legal Eagle says:

10:36 p.m. I’m finally home from my day at the card tables. BE has supper cooked, but I’m so full of cheese and dessert and junk that I can’t eat anything else tonight. He made spaghetti sauce and it will be even better tomorrow. I don’t have anything planned to do now until Thursday.

Blues, thank you for the chicken recipe. I’ve added it to our MRBA collection and it really sounds good. We have a Ron Popeill rotisserie and have found McCormick’s chicken rotisserie rub that is excellent, but I bet this would be good on the rotisserie too.

  21. Clucky says:

Checking in. Spent the last 2 hours cross-legged on the floor hunched over grooming the pup MsRamona helped us get a couple of years ago. My back is spasming so bad now that I’m shaking all over. About to take muscle relaxers and crash, I hope. I slept last night, thank goodness.
    Welcome back Barb!
MrsH, I heard about the accident today but didn’t even think that it could be in your area. Was thinking Wiggins (Stone Co) instead of Lucedale. So tragic and said. Glad both my boys are in food service. Thing 1 is enjoying his job as shift mgr at BK in Philly. However, last night he worked 10-6, then had to turn around and work 3-11 tonight. It wears him out, but he’s not complaining! He’s got his classes on MWF this fall, and will work the night shift those nights so he can sleep, do band and ball games on the other days. He is percussion captain this year even tho he sat last year out. He grew a lot in that year. I’m very proud of him! Thing 2 is at Subway, half a block from here, so he walks to work. He’s getting plenty of hours too.
I’d write more but I can’t sit upright anymore. Goodnight y’all. Sleep well..and Marshall? Scratch that Banjo behind the ears for us..as if you aren’t ecstatic to have him home :) He certainly is the Son of Courageous!

  22. Mrs. H says:

    Tuesday 6:18 am
I hope MR took a picture of the moon on his run this morning. It was bright orange for the first part of our walk. Then it went to bed!

The boy that was killed has a connection to our church family. Even though the family lives in Mobile, the family business is in Lucedale. In another venture, the dad is the business partner of one of our members. Dr. T went up there to talk to the young man’s cousin, who was standing right there talking to him when it happened. I can’t imagine…

  23. parrotmom says:

Good Tuesday morning and last day to work till Thursday. I hope you all have the day off also. Clucky good to hear your boys are moving on and growing up a little more. I hope Banjo is still doing wonderful.

  24. OldBopper says:

Mawnin’ y’all. Have to cover a meeting today. Wasn’t planning on that, but it shouldn’t last but an hour or so. I get paid the same regardless of the hours I work so I take the good with the bad. No complaints about the set up.

  25. dhcoop says:

    Mornin! It’s Friday for me!

MrsH, I’m so sorry to hear about that young man. So tragic!

I sure hope Banjo is feeling better this morning.

  26. OldBopper says:

PM, the device is called Transcend. It is a USB card reader.

I feel for the family who lost the 15 year old son. The tragedy will be compounded when OSHA completes it’s investigation. Daddy’s business or not, the law was broken by allowing a 15 year old in a dangerous work area.

  27. msblondie says:

morning gang! hope all have a good day!

  28. blues4you says:

    Good morning.

Tragic news, indeed, from MrsH’s neck of the woods.

I’m glad to hear Thing 1&2 are working, Clucks. I was wondering what their work situation was just recently. Sorry about your back. Hope it’s not too painful.

I’m scheduled for work hopefully by the end of the week. I am told my name was brought up several times during the sales meeting with an old customer from Tyler, Tx. It’s nice to be remembered. Supposed to be drilling near Alexandria, La. Sounds very encouraging, although I hate to get my hopes up before I actually get on location and learn what the plan is.

Heading down to the farmer’s market on Old Fannin in a bit. Looking for a watermelon, cantelope, and hopefully some peaches.

    Y’all pass a good day.

  29. dhcoop says:

Getting ready to shut down for the holiday. May be rather scarce the next few days. I hope everyone has a great, happy and safe 4th of July weekend!

  30. OldBopper says:

Put Boule in the shop for new rear brakes and a new exhaust system. Probably won’t get to ride it for a week to ten days.

My wife has peeled me a whole bunch of figs. Those little buggers are some kind of good.

    It’s hot.

  31. msblondie says:

everyone have a good evening and a great 4th! It is going to feel weird off tomorrow, work Thursday, off Friday.

    Becareful in whatever you do!

  32. parrotmom says:

Evening to everyone. Marshall glad Banjo is home and showing some improvement. Still keeping you all in my prayers. Hope everyone enjoys the mid week break and Coop enjoy yourself while being off.

  33. cardinallady says:

Marshall must be posting Banjo’s progress on facebook, huh? I’m glad he is doing well. OH, evening! I”m at my mom and dad’s house. Mom and I are looking at our family history. I’m trying to link myself to the American Revolution.

  34. cardinallady says:

let’s see if this will let the little red bird show.

  35. Clucky says:

Blues, my sister lives in Alexandria.

  36. OldBopper says:

Happy Fourth of July!! Lots of stuff going on today.

  37. Mrs. H says:

    Happy 4th (7:33 am)

Being all American today: home remodeling and cutting grass. Em’s got to wash clothes to get ready for M4 Camp.

    Stay cool….. later.

  38. msblondie says:

    Happy 4th to all! (7:40am).

everyone have a happy and safe day!

  39. parrotmom says:

8:51 am Good morning and Happy 4th. Have fun, stay safe, and drink plenty of water if outside today. Enjoy your family while they are here life is too short not too!

  40. Airwolf says:

9:42, Morning friends Happy 4th. I’m grilling for the family later this evening! Hot dogs, burgers, tater salad and baked beans. All things I dreamed of when I was deploed to some armpit country!

We went down to ICC last night and watched some beautiful fireworks.

Be safe and enjoy our freedom!

  41. dhcoop says:

    Happy Independence Day!

Almost to Eburg. Stopping to see A and Poppy on the way up to KO.

Hope everyone is having a great day!
