Happy 4th of July eveyone! Have fun at the barbecues and family gettogethers today. I always think of barbecue, baked beans, potato salad, stuffed eggs and watermelon for the 4th. BE got a watermelon at Wal-Mart a few days ago that had to be a Smith County melon because nobody grows them any sweeter than they do. It’s the first really good tasting melon we’ve had this year. And Lupe loves watermelon too and will almost take a cantaloupe away from you. We dont have any picnic plans this year though.

After being gone Monday night, I had to watch The Bachelorette on Comcast demand a while ago. Now I’m as confused as Emily is. I usually have a clear winner in my mind before this point in the show, but not this time unless maybe it’s Jef, although Chris is almost too good to be true. Ari has never been one of my favorites.

Happy fourth all my dear friends! I’m like Blues, just chillin at mama’s house. Dad and I are watching the Twilight Zone while I type. Mom and I are going to work on the family history again in a minute.

We sat down last night and started hunting up things, she in the family book and me on dad’s lap top. Before we knew it, it was a quarter of two this morning! It was fun though.

Sis and two brothers are coming over after awhile. WE are going to grill burgers on the george forman grill so there is no outside cooking.

The three little kids will shoot a few fireworks Alright yall have fun, i’m going into my family history again. I’ll try not to get lost. My mama is doing something in the kitchen. I need to be nosy.

BE makes the best hamburgers in the world and he ALWAYS cooks his on the George Forman grill. They are much jucier and better than when cooked on the grill. I do, however, enjoy going to a barbecue outside and having anything cooked on a grill and the hamburgers we had for our MRBA picnic this year were really good.

Happy 4th to all! Heading up to Mom & Dad’s for ribs & wings, Dad style. Counting on being miserable…always eat too much!

  8. msblondie says:

well i fixed burgers, dogs, and sausage on the george today for lunch instead of firing up the big grill outside. Fixed some tater salad to go with it. it was good.. and left overs to have the rest the week.
After eating M, left for the coast. Mom and Dad are down there enjoying some time off.
Going to the braves game tonight and will see their firework show afterwards. They always do a good show.

everyone stay cool and have a great rest of the day.

Em decided that she had too much to do to go to the fireworks show in Lucedale tonight. El was bummed until she got an invite to spend the night. Em is dropping her off on her way to WalMart to pick up sunscreen and other essentials for 2 weeks in the heat at camp.

In the process of taking out a wall, we discovered that YES, IT WAS IN FACT a load bearing wall. When Mr. H took one of the studs out, he thought that it didn’t react the way it should have. We have now braced it overhead with a beam composed of 2 2×10’s. The room will have a discernible separation from the sleeping area and the sitting area, but that’s fine with me. I rather envisioned it that way.

Watermelon margaritas @ neighbor’s place. Oh man!

Sounds like everyone is having a wonderful time. I had an invite to PD’s brothers and had a wonderful lunch and a good hen session once my BIL went for a nap. Now gearing up for Dallas at 8:00 and Boston Pops at 9:00.

I hope with all this thunder I have been hearing that someone is getting some rain?
The time is 6:44 pm. Happy 4th to everyone. God Bless America!

  12. Airwolf says:

7:30 pm, MR just posted that he’s on his way to emergency vet with Banjo!

  13. Legal Eagle says:

9:40 p.m. Oh, No; poor Banjo is having a time, as if the whole Ramsey family. I’m so sorry to hear they are back at the vet’s office.

I remembered from a long time ago how many restaurants close for July 4th. We drove around looking to see what was open and settled for Sonny’s barbecue. All of the parking lots of what little was open were packed full. Sonny’s had a packed waiting room as well, but we didn’t wait too long. The waiters and waitresses looked like ants scurrying around. We had some ribs and since the only decent sides Sonny’s has are the baked sweet potato and corn on the cob, that’s what we had. There’s no other choice unless you like beans out of a can and commercial potato salad with no taste. We had to stop at Wal-Mart to get cat food and I sat in the car and almost finished C.J. Box’s Nowhere to Run. Now we are home and stuffed and I have a box of ribs I couldn’t eat there and brought home. That’s why I never order the all you can eat. because I can’t eat all I get on a regular order.

Had a good evening with friends. Hitting the hay early; going to the MBraves Thursday night.

  15. Mrs. H says:

If you remember JB, please be in prayer for his wife. On a recent visit back to MS, she was bitten by a brown recluse and is now in the hospital. I know he would appreciate your lifting her up.

  16. parrotmom says:

Good morning Happy 5th to you all. I hope everyone enjoyed the day off and had time with family and friends. Thanks MrsH for mentioning JB and his wife, many prayers to her.
