This cartoon was drawn early Friday morning. Since I’m part-time, I don’t have all day to ponder what my idea will be and on Friday’s I have to draw two cartoons before noon before I head to the radio station for my second job. I tell you this to give you some context. There are several issues surrounding the Aurora shooting that very definitely need to be discussed. But when I woke up on Friday morning at 4:30, people were already casting blame and attaching their political agendas — before we even had any facts from the case. And for the record, I think both the President and Mitt Romney have handled this with grace.
Let’s get past the mourning, the funerals and the heartbreak. Let’s get a few more facts on what the hell was the shooter thinking. And then we can duke it out.
