I hope you have an enjoyable time. I have enjoyed your drawings from their in the past hopefully you will have a chance to do a few this year.

Today, August 1st, the days seem to be rolling by faster than a bolt of lightening. Everyone enjoy, love, hugs, and prayers.

I hope CardinalLady is enjoying herself this week on the coast.

  2. OldBopper says:

Good morning! Boss, I enjoy your cartoons of the fair more than I enjoy that hot dusty or muddy place in Neshoba County.

Hope this finds Leagle doing better.

Morning. Wish me luck, I’m about to tackle Cub’s room. He hasn’t “lived” here for 9 years so he & Hubby have used his room for storage of extra stuff. I’ve tried to sneak some things into the storage building…one frame for a radio control airplane…they didn’t miss it for a few months. Ha! But they know when I’ve moved things around (to change bed & such). This will be fun!

    Mornin!

I feel for the folks dealing with the heat today at the Fair!

  5. msblondie says:

morning gang! all have a great day!

  6. Airwolf says:

    Morning! Hot up here too!

  7. Clucky says:

    /raises hand
    *here!*

Grace here, (me), broke my pinky toe yesterday afternoon. I’m not even going to try to explain. Our latest plan is to just wrap me in bubble wrap from head to toe. However, we need to figure out how to cool the suit before I’ll even try it.

Stumbles through door panting…d@#% it’s hot out there!

Congratulations on your anniversary Boss and MrsBoss. Hope you have many more.

I pulled up in front of a newspaperbox at the convenience store early this morning and what do I see? A picture of our drilling rig on the front page of The Marksville Weekly News. Oil companies just LOOOOVE it when their business interests make headlines(not). I bought 3 copies, threw’em on the desks of a drilling consultant and his field superintendant, and waited for the reactions. I wish I had a snapshot of the looks on their faces. After scanning and e-mailing to the main office, they’re sitting, waiting for their phones to EXPLODE. I can’t stop chuckling. I hope they don’t shoot the messenger. This is going to be a fun day.

  9. dhcoop says:

Clucky, I swear, girl! You may need more like a suit of armor!

I’ve got me some tuna salad for lunch!

  10. parrotmom says:

Interesting Blues! Glad you found something to chuckle at in this heat. I love reading your descriptive opening post. It makes me smile :)

Clucky I only have a couple but it is flexible freezer cube packs, just perfect for wrapping around something. The main problem they are more for the size if few drinks (bottles or cans). I guess one could go across the breast/ chest area and the other on the lower back under the regular bubble wrap :). You could try lake an all in one footy pajamas stuffed with styrofoam peanuts? Just a couple thoughts for you, LOL! Sorry you have been so accident prone.

LegalE hasn’t checked in I hope her eye has improved ?

  11. parrotmom says:

I hope PNC hasn’t buried herself in that room she was going to tackle. It may be days before someone finds her.

  12. pncpnthr says:

LOL, PM! Took a break for lunch and got a call from Cub telling me to get out of his room! I thought he had talked to Coop, but no, he had read the blog! Guess I better watch what I say from now on! Really, he’s OK with it. Hubby’s the one that doesn’t want anything to change. It’s all good…

  13. Legal Eagle says:

I’m finally up and attached to a cup of coffee. I stayed up way too late last night. My eye feels a lot better than it did Monday and a little better than yesterday. The eye doctor wanted me to call him in a day or two and I’m thinking this should be interesting. Yep, pick up the phone, call a doctor and have him come to the phone and talk to you. I can’t see it happening, but I will try it.

Clucky, wrap some adhesive tape around that toe and the one next to it. After I got mine wrapped, the pains quit immediately.

  14. parrotmom says:

Interesting to anyone that watches the moon today the 1st and the last day the 31st are full moon dates. It looked prett full to me last night.

  15. parrotmom says:

Thanks for that lesson, I didn’t know what a blue moon was.

    Evening everyone.

  16. OldBopper says:

Happy Thursday! The Boss is probably still at the Fair with limited internet access. That’s my guess anyway. Hope all y’all have a great day.

  17. Mrs. H says:

It’s Tech Thursday at my office today. Now I’m part of it.

  18. msblondie says:

morning gang! hope all have a great day!

  19. parrotmom says:

    Happy Thursday!!!

  20. Mrs. H says:

My brain is swimming. I had to take a break from techie stuff!! But I’m learing :)

  21. Airwolf says:

    Hot, hot!

We have a little do for our son(Signalman) tonight, he’s 41 today!

  22. blues4you says:

    /falls through door
    //passes out from heat stroke……….

  23. msblondie says:

hubby just texted me. has had a crack from the heat in his windshield. we were hoping a summer without having to replace one. and he has had his windows down at work.

    everyone have a good evening.

  24. Legal Eagle says:

The second moon that occurs in the same month is a blue moon. After the one on the 31st, we won’t have another one until 2015.

I thought I was going to be one short for our bridge game today, but someone called me this morning and said they could play after all. Then when we got there, I had one more show up than I needed. I was going to just sit out, but someone said they had something they needed to go do anyway. And only one called me this morning to see if they had signed up to play. That CRS plays hell with our group.

  25. DWB810 says:

Hello everyone! Just checking in. No news or anouncements. My thoughts and prayers are with all in need. Safe travels for CL.

  26. parrotmom says:

Evening to you all, Sorry Blues I hope you are better.

Been super busy at work and behind as usual. Then I get home to a super hot, hot house. Yep no air conditioning. 90 degrees inside and 89 outside. I checked the unit out back I could hear the compressor but the fan barely moves and then it clicks off. Hopefully, not the compressor and maybe just the fan motor or something else. Will see when and if they can make it tomorrow. The unit is only 6 yrs old and of course was paid for in 2010. I am running the small unit that cools two bedrooms and a bathroom. The parrot has one room and I will take the other for tonight. Very thankful the house has two units. Still trying to figure out what to do with the Parrot tomorrow with the heat in the big part of the house.
Hey DWB there is a Standard Life Reunion this Saturday a shame you can’t make it, wait I may not make it either now pending on if I get to work tomorrow or need to be home.

  27. Mrs. H says:

Em is signed up for 2 college courses at the high school this year. She has to go next week and get an ID from MGCCC. They offer dual credit college algebra & trig and English Comp I & II.

Sunday School this coming month is a whodunit! Who is stealing your contentment? I’ve got a private eye office set up on the stage with a white board like Kate Becket uses on Castle. I’ll wear a trench coat and a deerstalker hat (Sherlock Holmes). It’s gonna be great!!

  28. OldBopper says:

PM sorry about the AC problem. Hope it’s a small one.

That’s great news on EM! I think it’s wonderful that students can do that these days. Our youngest, who just got married, went to the W for a summer session after the 11th grade and never came back to high school She got a scholarship and went right to college from the 11th grade. It’s funny because she never graduated high school but has a college degree.

Got my new stereo turntable today. Looking forward to hooking it up. It will play through the computer or the receiver. It also has a program to help with recording vinyl records onto the computer and have the ability to do some sound editing. With the new receivers, you can not use an old turntable because the new receivers don’t have the preamp required for a phono plug in. This one is by Sony and I ordered from Vann’s in Montana. Took two days to get here. $20 less than Best Buy and no sales tax.

Last week I was doing some research on stereo receivers for a lady friend of ours. Interestingly, Best Buy had the same price as Vanns. That’s good for the local economy. I told her to get her stuff at Best Buy because she could see and feel it before she buys it.

  29. parrotmom says:

MrsH that’s awesome for Em. OB I didn’t know that they allowed grades and graduation to be skipped that was great a fantastic achievement for your daughter. I’ll have to check with you once you do a vinyl or two to see how well you like it. I have been looking just reading reviews are 50-50 on some of them and will make you leary. I did look at one Sony had out. Can’t wait to get your report. I guess it being 11:30 pm I best go find a cool play to try and get some sleep.
