Oh, wow!!! Thanks for that revelation Marshall, I was really thinking Thursday. Morning everyone hope you all have a Blessed day.
I got up expecting it to be storming outside. I could see lightning flashing behind the window shade. When I opened the front door, I was looking at stars… and lots of them. Seems like the storm is well south of us, I-10 or over the Gulf. The light show was awesome from here, though. Couldn’t even hear any thunder. AND, as a bonus, while watching the lightning, we saw our first and only Perseid meteor streak down over the thunderhead. Pretty cool for 5 a.m.
I’m now cooling down from 35 minutes on the rowing machine. I’ve no idea how it calculates distance, but the machine tells me I rowed 5.1 miles.
Happy hump day!
I was on the computer last night when everything went dark. We heard a transformer pop about 11:00 p.m. There was nothing else to do but go to bed and wait for the lights to come back on so BE could turn the air conditioner back on.
I have to be in Brandon at noon today. Need coffee……
Got my coffee and headed to the office. Got a call last night from the lady at the bank that handles season tickets for George County games. They’ve got 2 reserved seats available. Hot Dog!! I’m headed to town as soon as the bank opens :)
Mornin!
I’m with Marshall…not only has this WEEK flown by, but this YEAR! It’s the middle of August already!
I hope everyone has a fun, productive, and awesome day!
morning gang!
Yes this week and year has flown by. Hard to believe Sunday we take M upto DSU to start college. Then it is head on to finish up C’s wedding.
Morning friends! I have nothing on my plate today. That’s nice for a change.
I think we going to the mountains Monday to celebrate or anniversary on the 21st.
Hey folks.
Got stung by a big orange wasp on my right eye-lid yesterday. Hurt like hell. Ice and benadryl and the couch and I was done for the day.
Headed back to work in Louisiana in a little while so y’all be good to one another. I’ll check on y’all in a day or two.
That had to hurt!!
Ouch! Those flying hellions can sting repeatedly. Good thing she only decided to pop you one time on the eye. Ouch!
Morning! Slept late and then went for a ride. Headed out of town this afternoon to position myself in Olive Branch for work in the morning. Then I’m headed back home.
I have to go to Tupelo later today. Blah. But wait! I can listen to Marshall on the way home. :-)
Owweeeee! Blues, hope it is not swelled up today. Your coworkers may think BullyDuck slapped you a good one. Safe travels to you and OB. OB don’t work to hard.
The year is flying by of course seems at times seems like forever. It’s been 19 weeks and 134 days since PD went home. I thank the Lord daily that he is no longer suffering. He is the lucky one:)
((PM))
Looks like it is raining somewhere west of me maybe northwest. I still haven’t figured out for sure which way Clinton is from my window view.
Safe travels home or to your destinations.
everyone have a good evening
no rain here, but did ride through a part of Jackson that did get rain.
Went to the store and came home it was about 8:30 pm. I was walking around the back of my car and looked up and saw something move under the persimmon tree. About that time the Mama deer looked up and we just stared at each other. She had a youngster with her. The baby couldn’t have been two foot tall. I wished there would have been more light to have seen them clearer. It was an awesome few moments. I knew the deer come to the tree this time of year. I am just normally blessed to see them.
PM, I’ve missed seeing the deer on the RR tracks on my way to/from work. But that’s about all I’ve missed.
Last week (Friday), I went to Vicksburg to pick up chicken for the concession stand. Oops, raw, plain tenders-not the usual breaded, cooked tenders we usually serve at the game. Maybe we’ll jump on the healthy bandwagon (see what I did there-“band”wagon) and bake or grill them instead. Someone better start cooking tomorrow for our first home game in a couple of weeks!
On the way through on I-20, I saw the sign for the antique shop in Old Town Clinton. Leake Collection (maybe?) and had to stop and check it out. Wow, they had some neat stuff, but 1. Only one piece of McCoy pottery in the whole place and 2. Most everything was way overpriced. There was one thing I have kicked myself for not buying: a small cream pitcher that says “Cream Pitcher of Mississippi.” I had the outline of
MS with Walthall county highlighted. It came from my hometown, and I really wish I had gotten it for sentimental reasons. Maybe it will still be there if I get a chance to return in a month or two. I also went to the bookstore across the street, and found a book on McCoy Pottery, which I did get. I’ve decided to try to learn all I can about it and try to start collecting then reselling. I’ve got a LOT of antiques here from that windfall last Thanksgiving that I need to learn about and photograph and start selling as well. The lady at the antique shop and the girl at the bookstore both flipped out when they found out I knew how to tat. Apparently I need to teach a class-it’s definitely a dying art.
Yet I can’t figure out how to knit to save my life. Sigh.
The young jockey I asked y’all to pray for that fell off the horse during the races at the Neshoba county fair died earlier this week. So sad for his family; he was only 21, and his brother is Chicklette’s age. She has been keeping in touch with him since Blaine got hurt. They were very close.
Also, (I’m just a bottle of Joy here), my former ECCC band director, Tom Carson, was turned down by MD Anderson. Considering today a year ago he was given at the most 6 months to live, they said he needs to stick with Baptist. Drs Ley and Shumaker are his docs. He started another kind of chemo today, trying to knock out those pesky 3 places that just won’t go away. Please keep him in your prayers, y’all. He’s an awesome guy-of the (dare I say) Marshall Ramsey variety.
I’ve not been able to go to sleep before 530-600am the past two nights. It’s now 218am. My eyes are heavy, so I’m gonna snuggle up with my critters (including Mr Fab) and try to get my clock straightened out.
Love y’all.
