Mornin’, y’all! I missed checking in yesterday. My day was all mixed up. I had to pick up Chicklette at school before 930, so no parade or ball game last night. She’s really not feeling too hot, and has been running a low grade temp. BFF is also our FNP, and checked her out and started her on antibiotics that will cover about anything-I think it’s sinus. The rest helped, and she’s loading up on the bus this morning headed to West Lauderdale for contest.
I enjoyed EC’s pep rally Thursday evening. I was delighted to sit next to my former band director, and we talked about the many changes to the band and campus in the 25 years since I was there. He’s still taking chemo and hanging in there! PET scan is in the next couple of weeks to see where the “alien” is at right now. He had just returned from a week away with family to Florida and had a great time. He’s such an inspiration.
Ok, time to get a shower and hit the road. Praying our rain holds off until 6 or so for contest and EC’s Homecoming.
Y’all have a good day!
We’ve been on Infinity demand this morning catching up on a few new shows. We watched Last Resort, Two and a Half Men and Vegas. Big Bang Theory wasn’t on demand yet and this year it’s on opposite Last Resort on Thursday night. It looks like the networks are bound and determined to put a lot of their new shows on on Sunday nights. I already miss my DVR.
My high school class is having a get together two weeks from today and at that time we are going to work on plans for our 70th birthday party next year since many members of my class will have their 70th birthdays next year.
Afternoon. Made to Rolling Fork and back. The GPS on the iPhone said turn right on 4th street—–I did, I asked directions they kept sending me back to 1st Baptist and the Methodist church. Finally stopped an older man walking and he said oh you going to R==== funeral? Yes sir. You turn LEFT on 4th st. Thank you very much. Now how can the GPS have it wrong?
It was a nice service. I told my friend after the grave side that the one thing I have learned. Me talking about my beloved makes people uncomfortable, but as long as you are comfortable that was ok. Others are afraid and don’t understand this, but it is part of our healing. I also told her at the visitation we would have to find a bird sitter but maybe we could plan a road trip–who knows. Maybe it will never happen.
Wooo Hoooooo!!!! GC Pride! All 1’s for the band and a 1 for the percussion!! I’ve never seen anyone as surprised as Em by the percussion score. El came off the field saying the entire clarinet line was 5 yards off at one point, but they didn’t panic, just took VERY large steps to get to the next set. Way to go, girls! Keep your cool and if you all do the same thing, no one may be the wiser. I didn’t notice and I’ve seen the show 4 times!
After the competition, before the scores were announced, The University of Mobile Ram Corps performed. I had never seen or heard of them, but WOW! They are sort of a show choir version of a marching band. Think Glee, but with brass and percussion rather than vocals. Well, no vocals this afternoon. I found a link to one of their performances that starts with a bit of vocal, but it’s the instrumental that will knock your socks off. They did several songs today, one of which was the theme to “The Incredibles.” A girl from our church is a member this year. She plays flugal horn with a violin special performance.

MrsH, sounds Awesome! Congrats to your girls! M was mad as a wet hen at her 7th grade flutes for not keeping their flutes “up” (horizontal) while playing, but I told her I have photographic proof that they all did a great job. She felt some better this afternoon, and hoping by Monday, she will be feeling back to her usually perky, fun self. She is a Pill when she is ill! We also received all 1’s today at contest :))) We actually have 2 weeks until state prelims, which will be at EMCC this year instead of Meridian. It should be interesting, to say the least. To be one of the nation’s highest ranked JUCO football teams, we have bigger & nicer facilities at our high school. I’m shocked they moved it from Meridian HS. Now THAT is a stadium, with plenty of room for everyone.
We napped for a while after we got home. Now Mr Fab has gone sho nuff to bed, and despite the rain, I do believe the full moon will keep me up tonight. It’s all good-I have plenty of stuff I can do while they sleep.
Goodnight, y’all. Sleep tight!
Is the moon finally showing itself after all of this rain? In that case, goodnight moon!
Good soggy Sunday morning, but we still have so much to be thankful for. Hope you all have terrific day with friends, family, and anyone else that may come along.
Mornin! Definitely soggy Sunday. It rained ALL day and ALL night and it’s still raining. At least it’s not storming. Just a slow, steady rain. Good sleeping weather. :)
Amen, Sista Coop. I was awake at 715. Moved to the couch with HGTV barely t a whisper and snoozed another another 2.5 hrs when Mr Fab woke me up. He was freaking out because I wasn’t answering his “Where are you?” text and couldn’t find me.
It’s MAYBE 1100SF. I’m not that hard to find. Granted, the natural blanket of cats & dogs may have camouflaged me just a little :)
Leagle, I didn’t see the moon, but I could feel it. It is obviously fully-I need a mani/pedi, a haircut and waxing of me legs and someone just called me a bi… nevermind. I’ve never had a mani/pedi, I just need to shave my legs, and, well, that’s just what I am. :D
I am tickled to say I have discovered someone else that is a “lunatic” like me-and it’s a guy. Amazing.
At our Monday card game, we call each other bi… quite often.
Clucky I have never had a mani/pedi either and no plans to try waxing. I’ll deal with a razor. Laughing at Mr Fab not being able to find you. Sounds like the fur babies were protecting you.
Afternoon, seems I can’t make through a Saturday or Sunday anymore without a nap. What’s up with that I don’t think old age? I had thought due to a big lunch, it sure isn’t from working too much :)
Just made it home from church a short while ago and with the clouds moving by so fast I was able to catch a glimpse of the full moon tonight. It was beautiful as always. Hope everyone has a good night.
Evening, drove in from church in a downpour! Sept was my month to open and close the. church. I got soaked getting to my vehicle. Now to dry out and find some supper.
