I was at church last night, so I’ll hear the spin today and probably watch a replay at some point. I’ll be pretty busy today (hoping I won’t have to come in to finish anything Friday because the oven-repairman is supposed to be here tomorrow and Mr. H has 35th class reunion this weekend.)

  2. parrotmom says:

Good morning, no I did not watch the debate. I love your cartoon though. Happy Friday Eve.
Clucky I missed the smell of fresh brewed coffee this morning :( I have a stafff meeting at 10:00 will definitely wish it were around then.

  3. OldBopper says:

Morning! Special prayers for Corn Pop and Orville.

  4. pncpnthr says:

Morning. Hubby is home so I got the perfect cup of coffee this morning! There’s more, I’ll share! I want to find a really good coffee cake recipe.

No, I didn’t watch the debate. I really should keep up with politics. Hubby does & stays mad all the time. I may be over-simplifying things but I just don’t want to live that way. I prefer blissful ignorance…I wish OB would pop in & give his opinion. He is one that can help me understand all that’s going on.

  5. parrotmom says:

Pnc speak and you should receive an answer. OB commented A little before your post. I do feel the same way though. I need to stay abreast, but it is like watching football you want to watch the game and not listen to everyone’s opinion about what is or not said. I want no spin.

  6. Molly says:

I did watch the debate … and loved it.

  7. msblondie says:

    morning gang!

didn’t watch the debate. but i do stay abreast of what is going on. will read later highlights.. and probably catch pieces on podcast.

  8. cardinallady says:

Afternoon! Flitting in. I spent the first of my morning talking to this couple from Topeka, Kansas who were doing some family research. I LOOOOVVEE history and I do enjoy helping folks find their history if I can. I got their email address so if I do run aross any of their stuff I can email them.

I watched pieces and parts of it. I think Romney got in some good points.
To me the most interesting thing I heard outside the realm of the debates was a comment that came up on Fox news yesterday, and I remember Obama saying this four years ago.
He said if he can’t fix the economic problems in three years he should be a one term president. Hmmmmmmmm.

  9. Airwolf says:

Afternoon! Debate showed an unprepared President Obama! He got Mittslapped!

  10. Clucky says:

Talk about a self-fulfilling prophecy. The social media outlets are filled today with commentary regarding the debate-and all say the same as Marshall’s toon.

I actually don’t drink coffee. I looooove the smell, but rarely can I deal with the taste.

CP, prayers for you and Orville and the rest of your family. Love ya, sister.

Yesterday, I picked up my girl early as we both had cleaning appts at the dentist. From there to Carthage, then back home. We took all back roads through the metropolis of Sebastopol. My girl is still in an ill mood (to put it lightly.) Growth spurt, hormones, school, etc., I suppose. She slept from Carthage all the way home (no drop top either-boo) and as soon as we got home, I flaked out too.

PM, it’s a shame that people will bully their coworkers. We may be living on less, and my physical health ain’t what it used to be, but it’s priceless to NOT have to go in to work and deal with a bully-my boss, to be precise. I still have nightmares-and if I followed through with my feelings…well, nevermind. I’m better being away from her. Period. Don’t want to talk about it. But PM, it does need to be dealt with-and immediately. Do NOT start hating your job because of one person. You were there first, you come in on weekends to work-probably because that person isn’t there to give you grief and you are probably more productive without them there. See your HR dept-this needs to be addressed. We love you dear!

    • parrotmom says:

Thanks Clucky a few months ago I talked with her because I did let it affect me and my work. I have felt better ever since. I did talk to my manager yesterday to keep it from getting to that point again. The one thing I told him is we are all adults and I know that we should not be having this type teen drama. He smiled and agreed. I don’t know what her problem is maybe hormonal (she is about 5-6 yrs younger than me). I know my problems — some times just too sensitive.

  11. parrotmom says:

    M&ms for lunch today.

  12. pncpnthr says:

Howdy. Cub is on his way to visit his best friend and see the new addition to their family. He’ll be taking Meg back with him tomorrow. I know this girl (Meg) is ready to see him & be back at her home for a few days.

  13. Clucky says:

Y’all tickle me with custody of his youngun. I know my pups and cats are more like my kids every day. I’ve rediscovered the red dot (laser pointer) and have been LOL at my silly Coco chasing it all over the place. Every so often, when the uppity Persian starts chasing her, I’ll turn that dot right around and Coco will slap him. I really do need to get out more.
Hey PM, maybe you could find a bottle of what my MIL called “ice water pills” to put on your coworkers desk. B**** that I am, I’d put a bottle of Midol in her hand and tell her to “step outside and get some fresh air, see if that might make you feel better too.” Since having all my plumbing removed, I have very little tolerance for PMS, especially when it seems to be permanent. Ah-hem.

Ball game at Pisgah tomorrow night. Kids are leaving at 3-good grief, it’s not on the Coast!! They are wearing jeans and performing only one set of their show. I can only guess that Piagah has no band or a very small one. Dang, if you’re going anyway, do it up! Then again, if they have wooden visitor stands that are few and in poor condition, that is a good idea to protect the new uniforms.

Thinking about CP… My friend & former band director gets his PET scan results today. I have a bad gut feeling about it; I pray it’s just my gut (literally) and he’s keeping this stupid cancer beaten down. I hate cancer. And I mean it in a stand on a mountaintop angrily screaming I HATE CANCER! I’m tired of watching so many people have to battle this stupid disease.

    • parrotmom says:

Thanks got the suggestion she just recently had that surgery done. Maybe she is mad because I’m older and still have my parts. Lol!! I did think about offering a chill pill or few.

      • Legal Eagle says:

Put a box of Tampax and a box of Depends on her desk with a note saying, “Whatever your problem may be, there is a fix for it.”

    • parrotmom says:

      Prayers he gets good news

  14. Clucky says:

    Thanks, PM. ((hugs))

  15. parrotmom says:

    evening everyone!!

  16. Clucky says:

Howdy-listening to band practice from the comfort of my own deck. Sounding good! Waiting for Mr C’s PET scan results. I texted him just now and said caringbridge should post in the next minute.

    http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/thomaswcarson

Check in later…maybe. Miss Thang was having herself a hissy fit before band practice. Hoping Mr. D marches it right out of her.

  17. Clucky says:

TEARS OF JOY RUNNING DOWN MY FACE, Y’ALL!!

  18. dhcoop says:

    Evenin!

Clucky, I hope that means good news about your friend!!

I’m trying to get settled back in to my new nest at the main office. Not easy after having 2 years at the other location, but I have a new position, new responsibilities, and I have to put my big girl panties on and deal with it. Trying to remember the Boss’s words of wisdom about “change”. I’m going to do my best to embrace it.

Planning on going to the Fall Flower Fest this weekend with my Baby Girl. If anyone wants to join us, let me know! Then, Monday, going to Hburg for a meeting and overnight there, then meeting and event Tuesday.

Then NEXT weekend, we have the Color Run in Memphis! Me, my Baby Girl, Peanut, Bug, lil sis, Cub, A, cousin E and I don’t know who all else is going to join us. REALLY looking forward to it!!

  19. Clucky says:

Yes it is great news! He was given 3 months to live in August of 2011 when he was diagnosed with advanced esophageal cancer. 14 months including 6 weeks of radiation, 11 months of butt-kicking chemo, an extremely major surgery and 3 PET scans later, of the 3 remaining tumors, 2 are completely gone, and the third has decreased significantly in size. This is so awesome for him and his family. Prayers are being answered!

  20. Molly says:

Mornin. It is Friday, isn’t it? I hope.
I was supposed to get off early today, but co-worker just went home sick. Guess I’m stuck here all day. I had things I really needed to do this afternoon, too.

  21. msblondie says:

morning gang! wedding decorating and resheral today.

  22. parrotmom says:

Happy Friday!!!! MsB take dome breaks today and tomorrow, try to rest, and if you get frustrated remember to take slow deep breaths. The wedding will be perfect. It will be a glorious day.

I don’t care about flowers so probably not going to the CS flower show. I am planning to go to Brookhaven tomorrow afternoon for their Christian music concert that starts at 6:30. If thinks go well I will be meeting up with Tank. Is anyone else going to the Brookhaven Festival?

  23. Clucky says:

Is this like the movie “Groundhog Day”?

TGIFF! (Thank God It’s Football Friday!)

  24. parrotmom says:

Looking at lunch menu, think I will pass. Yuck!!! Beets, zucchini!

  25. Clucky says:

Eww. I’m munching on a bag of Funyuns. Envy my healthy eating habits!
    /sarcasm

How’s the wedding stuff going, MsB?

  26. CornPop says:

Well, here I am with a new update…Orville was discharged late yesterday and we are home for now! As it turns out, while they were getting all of his chemo drugs ready for the infusions one of them was expired – that whole batch in the drawer. Everything needs to be given in the particular order. It was a bizzare, unbelievable sequence of events that caused this to happen and it is what it is. The only place to get a good replacement batch is from a pharmaceutical company in Italy! We are now in circling, stand-by mode until it arrives at the hospital, which should be mid-week and there will a do-over next Thursday, unless his oncologist thinks he needs another round of the previous chemotherapy that he’s had because of the delay and it’s been so long since he’s been treated. We’ll know for sure on Monday. Devine intervention…a reason this happened…it’s a first for the hospital, all the staff from the head doctor of the department that’s now his primary doctor to the nurses are so apologetic, they are the only hospital in the state that does bone marrow transplants and they do this all the time…Thank you for all the prayers and keep ’em coming! ♥

  27. parrotmom says:

CP we will never know the reason for this to happen but have to believe God has his reasons.

  28. parrotmom says:

Almost time to go. MrsB good luck and best wishes to your daughter this weekend in her marriage. May all go well and enjoy yourself.

  29. cardinallady says:

Flitting through. Homecoming day here. Has been fun. I’m thinking about going to the game tonight but not sure I want to tackle it. I might … seeing as it IS homecoming. I sort of halfway promised my nephew I’d be there. I don’t know, though if I go home and lay down I may pass out.

My editor wanted me to come up on Sunday afternoon and pick out pictures for page 1 from what I take tomorrow. I refused. He backed down when he realized it was my mom’s family reunion and said he’d come tomorrow. I am soooooooo ready to take my days off!!!

Saying prayers for everyone. I do love all of you dear people. And right now I’m seeing double so I need to go rest my eyes.

  30. dhcoop says:

    Evenin!

CP, I was really angry for you when I heard what happened, then was reminded by co-worker that things happen for a reason. I guess we just have to be okay with that. I just hate y’all are having to go through this! Prayers continue!

Just talked to my Baby Girl. She is going to meet me in CS tomorrow for the Fall Flower Festival. Anyone else going? Y’all let me know.

Going to go put a bit of laundry in.

MsB, best of luck this weekend!! Can’t wait to see pictures!!

  31. Legal Eagle says:

Parrotmom, I read your comment about your B**** coworker and commented, but then realized you had posted it yesterday. Here’s what I said in case you don’t scroll back that far: Put a box of Tampax and a box of Depends on her desk with a note saying, “Whatever your problem may be, there is a fix for it.”

Perhaps I should quit playing Words With Friends and Word Trick long enough to check in more regularly.

I’m stuffed with shrimp quesadilla and accessories!

  32. parrotmom says:

Hope everyone’s games are going the way they want them too!

  33. cardinallady says:

We won! I’m glad I went. In the first five minutes of the game it was 20-0 their favor. We tied 29-29 in the fourth quarter then scored another touchdown. My throat is sore from hollering. This is only the second game I’ve gone to since 2009, when Jon was a senior. Now I’m going to go and get some popcorn and go home and settle down to some nice quiet television. LOL!!!

  34. Airwolf says:

    Itawamba AHS 41, Shannon 6

  35. Msblondie says:

Evening. Finally home from decorating and resheral and in bed. We have changed our family life center into a magical place for C. We have a few more touches tomorrow with lights tat my dad and bil are gonna do to get rid of the “gym” yellow look. She is happy with it all.

We just have to make it thru tomorrow.

  36. pncpnthr says:

Morning! Headed to A’s in a bit then we’re going to Starkville for me to get a haircut! I had put it off until Saturday so she could go & it’s a good thing Saturday is finally here!! Ready to shave my head!

    Everyone have a good day!
