We don’t have sirens in our neck of the woods, but I don’t think we needed them last night. The front is still approaching us. Between 6 and noon the winds are to shift from SSW to N. Currently we seem to be in a clear spot on the radar with stuff all around. I’m sure that will change.

Morning! Made it through the storm just fine. At 12:45 am I got a call from the Meadows that Daddy was unresponsive and ambulance was transporting him to NMMC in Tupelo. He had a mini stroke and is now in the hospital. By the time I picked Mom up and got there, ct had been done. He is his old self at the present.

  3. blues4you says:

    Good morning folks.

I’m very sorry to hear that about your Dad, AW. I hope the effects are mild and that he improves soon.

Thoughts and prayers for Orville and CornPop today as well.

  4. parrotmom says:

Morning everyone, yes the sirens woke me, but wasn’t sleeping to well either. I turned on the tv that had the off air antenna to see what was happening. The big orange screen scared Itty Bitty so she wanted out in the pouring rain. the rain just stopped quickly and the said Clinton was in the clear. Turned tv off, kittie girl was happy so we tried for sleep again.

AW prayers for your Dad, your mom, and you. I know how scarry these times are.
Praying for Orville and CP. Clucky girl sorry your exam brought on more exams, but may they get to the source of everything so you can have some peace and restful sleep.

Love to all and glad no one was affected by the storms other than the loss of sleep.

  5. Molly says:

Mornin. If there were sirens around me, I didn’t hear a thing. I was out. Nothing could have woken me up. Didn’t even know it had rained until I got up this morning.

Hope your dad continues to improve, AW.

  6. dhcoop says:

    Mornin!

The storms completely missed me. Looks like it blew through rather quickly.

AW, sorry about your Dad. Glad he’s better now.

Continuing prayers for all who are in need.

morning gang! I didn’t hear the sirens nor the weather alarm go off last night. I get up this morning and see we were in the path. I must have been really tired. But no damage I have seen around the house.

AW – so sorry about your Dad. Prayers for you all.

Gotta take M to absentee vote since I dont want her to drive 6 hours round trip just to vote on that day. Then off to the my nieces high school for homecoming.. she in the parade and needs Auntie’s convertible.

    All have great day!

  8. Clucky says:

Wow! 12 beautiful hours of uninterrupted sleep-and we had tornado warnings too.

AW, hope your dad is doing well. Any chance of a carotid blockage? When Mom had her first TIA, an ultrasound showed an extensive blockage. She had a bypass (carotid endarderectomy) and she improved so much. That was 12 years ago. Just throwing that out there.
Y’all have a good day. CP/O still need our prayers.

  9. Legal Eagle says:

I never did hear a siren, but we had torrential rains for a couple of hours. I usually love the sound of rain hitting this tin roof, but for some reason I couldn’t sleep last night.

We have our monthly luncheon to leave for in a few minutes and then I have my Thursday bridge game afterwards, so I’m going AFK for most of the afternoon.

  10. CornPop says:

    Quick update…

Orville had a pretty good night once the itching stopped. Turns out one of the possible side-effects of this chemo drug, among many others, is itching and, boy, did he. He was itching from his scalp to the bottom of his toes, but a healthy dose of Benadryl helped so he was able to rest through the night. Hanging the second 24-hour bag of this one shortly then, once it’s completed, he’ll have the next round of a different chemo drug for three days. Today is Day -7 and he’s moving towards Day 0…his new birthday will be next Thursday when he reaches the point of his bone marrow transplant. One day at a time! Thank you for keeping the prayer chains going.

My prayers are ascending for AW’s dad’s improvement, for Clucky’s doctors’ figuring out how to help her best and for everyone!

  11. Molly says:

CornPop, I know this is not a pleasant experience, but there is light at the end of the tunnel. A friend of mine had a bone marrow transplant 4 years ago. It was rough going for a while, but she’s doing great now. Her new birthday and her old birthday are about a week apart and her husband gives her a birthday cake on both days every year. By the way, her donor was from a donor list, and is male. She now has male DNA. I thought that was cool.

  12. parrotmom says:

Evening to you all, hope you made it home safely afterwork.

  13. cardinallady says:

Evening! I think it’s time to go home. My eyes have quit focusing. I have some volunteer work things to get done tonight, plus some dishes to wash and I NEED to get outside and enjoy this beautiful autumn air!

I’m so grateful Orville slept better CP. And I’m glad Clucky got to sleep. AW, brother, how long will your dad be in Tupelo? I’ll come visit if I know about when you will be there. I’ve got my insurance paid up for another month today so I can drive. :)

My brain is tired. I went to bed about as early as normal, but my dogs were in the house. I don’t sleep good when they are inside because I’m afraid I won’t wake up if they need to go to the out house. So tonight they will be OUT and I will SLEEP! After I crochet a bit.

You people just don’t know how much I love you. I AM SO grateful for you and for Marshall. ((((((((((((hugs and kisses))))))))))))

  14. Clucky says:

Love you too, Card. In fact, I saw our cardinals moving in, and took a pic-and thought of you :)

I don’t feel worthy of the prayers, y’all. I have good days & bad days, but nothing like what CP/O are going through right now.

MsB, hope you hear some good news soon!

  15. Clucky says:

PM, maybe next weekend while we are at Raymond, we can meet up for lunch.

  16. parrotmom says:

Yes, Clucky maybe we can. CLady prayers for you that you get some rest too!

  17. Mrs. H says:

Ooo, today just about ate my lunch, so I wasn’t in any mood to cook dinner. I picked up pizza and sat and looked at wedding pictures that came in the mail yesterday. :)

I am just about human again. I posted one of my favorites on FB.

  18. Msblondie says:

Evening… Had homecoming parade tonight at my high school… Niece used my car .. My sister drove it.. While I drove the truck my nephew was on. I will post so pic tomorrow. It was a big parade for the little community of Star…62 floats, cars, and walking groups.

Thanks for the well wishes on the job hunt.. I do hope I hear something soon.

  19. Legal Eagle says:

OK, y’all, I’ve been asking for a smart phone especially since my phone has been hanging up on people and sending me a message that says, “Sim card registration failed.” Then it won’t let me call out for a while. So I finally got to the AT&T store this afternoon and came out with an I phone 4 S. The AT&T man was good about telling me how to use it, but I had to take it to a 12-year-old friend after I got stuck on a page and couldn’t find my way back to the app page. The AT&T man set up Words With Friends and Word Trick so I can play on Facebook and it shows my real name is playing. The 12-year-old had to show me how to move the letters. I made a move in a few games just to practice, but I was afraid I was going to use all my internet time making my moves. I can even test message using voice now instead of having to type my message.

P.S. I just had a 3 pork chop dinner from Waffle House with scattered, smothered and covered hashbrowns and balsamic vinegarette dressing on my salad. For the first time in my life, I didn’t bring a doggie box home except for the bones for the dog. I was going to get a couple of pieces of their chocolate pie to bring home, but somebody had just bought the last they had. So we stopped by the new CVS and got a bag of Jelly Belly’s.
