Yes Sir, I will be voting today. May everyone have a great day no matter what comes our way. My prayers go out to all that are in need of employement, healing, and just for the every day crud that pops in our life just to make it exciting—NOT!
    Love and hugs to all.

  2. Mrs. H says:

I’m voting this morning on the way to work. Em wants me to go with her this afternoon to show her the ropes. I can’t believe she’s old enough to vote!

  3. OldBopper says:

Good morning! Smiles and hugs to all! (prayers too) It’s finally here…..Election Day! I imagine we will have to wait a while to find out the results in the Presidential race.

Since I voted last week, I’m taking advantage of the free day to head toward the northern end of the Natchez Trace. I’ll be leaving here on Bleuz in a couple of hours headed toward Starkville on Hwy 25. At Starkville I’ll head west to Mathison and get on the trace. I’ve already ridden the part south of that. I see where rain may creep in on me tomorrow. If so, I’ll just lay up for a while before heading out.

I’ve been lurking with great interest. As one who has been involved in politics as a candidate, I get upset whenever I hear rumors about candidates regardless of their affiliation and speak out in their defense. I know what it is like because it has happened to me. I felt it would be better if I stayed away a while because I don’t want to offend my friends over political rumors. However, I have fussed a bit on Facebook.

Will check in from time to time as I make my way up the Trace.

Morning! Busy day today. Mom has a doctors appointment, then she needs to vote. I’ll vote this afternoon!

    OB be safe!

  5. Molly says:

Mornin. Was in a long line to vote at 7 this morning. Moved quickly though and I was done by 7:30 or so.

  6. Mrs. H says:

    Good to see you, OB.
I was #24 at my polling place in Howell. I’m amazed. We are W A Y out in the boonies.

  7. dhcoop says:

    Mornin!

    Good to see you, OB!

I’ll be voting this evening WAY out in podunk.

  8. cardinallady says:

Morning! Sorry I did not flit through yesterday. I didn’t even get a chance to lurk! Toward the end of the day I looked at Marshall’s voting cartoon and showed it to my editor. We both loved it.

I haven’t been to vote yet. Thought I’d wait until we got the paper to bed and head out so I could see how the voter turnout is to post it on our web site.
Now I’ve got to go get my dried clover flower tea out of the microwave and get my column written.

    I WILL be back.

Oh, circling back, a prayer for the day.

“Dear Lord there are so many prayers for this day. We are grateful first during this month of thanksgiving to live in America. This is a minority country in the world with the majority of blessings and we know that. Those blessings come from You and are evident from the Pacific to the Atlantic ocean.

As our nation goes to vote today, we are ever mindful that YOU chart the course of human events and YOU have it all held in Your hands We pray that men would vote what is right for the good of this country … and we know that whatever the outcome, You are still God and You are still on the throne regardless of men. You know what it will take to bring this nation and this world to it’s knees. I pray that above all the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ will flow from this nation in a flood so that thousands of souls can stand with us before Your holy throne when time is rolled up like a scroll and you reign forever. We love you! In Jesus’ name, Amen.”

P.S. “Please encourage dwtb10’s heart today. Love she and her husband. Let them know that You will provide supernaturally above and beyond what they could ever ask. Amen again.”

    • parrotmom says:

      Very well said CLady. Amen!!!

    • msblondie says:

      AMEN!

    • GrammarGirl says:

Well said, CL. Some of my favorite verses for when I need a reminder that God is God and I am not, and He’s got this:
      Job 38:22-30 (The Message)
22-30 “Have you ever traveled to where snow is made,
seen the vault where hail is stockpiled,
The arsenals of hail and snow that I keep in readiness
for times of trouble and battle and war?
Can you find your way to where lightning is launched,
or to the place from which the wind blows?
Who do you suppose carves canyons
for the downpours of rain, and charts
      the route of thunderstorms
That bring water to unvisited fields,
deserts no one ever lays eyes on,
      Drenching the useless wastelands
so they’re carpeted with wildflowers and grass?
And who do you think is the father of rain and dew,
the mother of ice and frost?
You don’t for a minute imagine
these marvels of weather just happen, do you?

    • dwb810 says:

Thank you CL. I am at a very low point.

    • Old Bopper says:

      Amen!

  9. msblondie says:

I got for my finger printing and stuff this afternoon for the job I was offered. I am to start Monday. I am exited.

    Everyone have a great day!

  10. pncpnthr says:

I voted! Also, I just got a call for an interview-local!

  11. Clucky says:

Woohoo for Blondie & pnc!! Yay!!

MrsH, I can’t believe you have another voter! Wow!!

CLady, thank you for your beautiful prayer, and Amen! From your mouth to God’s ear!

AW, how is your dad? OB, Be safe & enjoy the ride!

The last several days have put me on my back. I MUST get up and move. Ugh. I woke up with a 14 year old daughter!! Wow!!

  12. Clucky says:

Hi PM and Molly :) didn’t mean to ignore y’all!

Those of you in the legal bidness, THIS is how lawyers get a bad rap: I’m filing a formal bar complaint re: our “estate” attorney. The ish is about to hit the fan, and it will be reported locally-her daddy is the MAYOR of Newton.

  13. parrotmom says:

Hey Clucky. Sorry you have been on your back, but tile work is not very much fun.

    Happy Birthday to Chicklette.

Lunch was pretty good considering it wasn’t what I thought I wanted.

  14. Old Bopper says:

Afternoon. It’s been a slow trip so far. Had trouble syncing my headset to my phone. Now it’s done. I can ride and talk at the same time. In Tupelo and heading north another 100 miles or so.

  15. CornPop says:

At Day 12 after transplant: Progress is being made! Found out this morning that Orville’s white blood cell counts went up from 2.4 yesterday (which was excellent) to 7.3 today! They will stop giving him the Neupogen (drug that stimulates the white cell production) tomorrow and his count will probably jump even higher tomorrow. Then it will drop a good bit over the next few days before it levels off at somewhere in the low normal range (normal is 3.9-8.8) before he’s released. He hasn’t run a fever since yesterday afternoon, thank goodness! Those 103 temperatures were horrible! His mouth is feeling better this morning, but his throat is very still raw & difficult to swallow. Throat should start healing up over the next day or two then he needs to push himself to eat as many calories as he can. He was able to drink a milkshake a little while ago – not been able to do that in days. They will begin changing his medications one by one from IV to pills for him to swallow. He’ll need to get out to walk some today & continue several times daily – he’s not felt like it for the past couple of days. Still experiencing some stomach issues, but that should improve soon, too. If everything keeps moving in this positive direction then he/we should be able to go home Sunday or Monday!!! He’ll then continue isolation at home until around the first part of February. Hallelujah!!!

Thank you all for the positive thoughts and prayers – they are being answered! ♥

BTW, we had our ballots mailed to us so we could VOTE from the hospital. :-)

  16. cardinallady says:

    Flitting through and out.
I went home at lunch and built a fire, warmed up my dinner, made some tea, made some cornbread sticks for supper tonight, fed the cats and dogs.

Going to vote and gather money and put gasoline in the truck. Go to an aldermen’s meeting then back here for the count out. See y’all over a pot of coffee later.

  17. parrotmom says:

Evening everyone. I voted after work took only about 10 minutes. One of the ladies working our poll said about 1100 at some point today.

  18. dhcoop says:

    Evenin!

Well, I had to drive to rural Podunk, Hinds County to do it, but I voted!

So glad to hear progress is being made, CP!! Hugs and love to you and Orville!

    Happy Birthday Chicklette!

  19. Old Bopper says:

That’s such good news on Orville. He has been and continues to be in my prayers. I hope his progress continues unabated.

    Happy Birthday to Miss Thang!

I’m in Florence, Alabama for the evening and watching the weather. I hope the rain stops before daybreak.

  20. cardinallady says:

Evening! Hope the weather breaks before morning for you too OB. Here listening to live stream election results. The map is getting interesting. I think it’s going to be a long night.

  21. dhcoop says:

OB, I have a question for you. If you are technically “homeless”, and by “homeless” I mean don’t really have a “permanent” home address, where are you supposed to register to vote? Can you use a work address? Just wondering…
