Something horrible happened at GCHS yesterday. A student punched another student in the cafeteria. That sounds like something that can happen just about anywhere, doesn’t it. However, the student receiving the punch has cerebral palsy, is legally blind and is paralyzed on one side, all that BEFORE receiving the punch. His mother posted pictures on FB and linked them to WLOX’s FB page. Now there is much talk of vigilante retribution for bullying. It really scares me, because the offenders name is out there. El and Em were in the cafeteria when it happened. It wasn’t so much a case of bullying, as violent mindless reaction. Someone told the special needs kid to throw something, knowing he’d do it, as he does just about everything he’s told. What he threw hit the absolute WRONG target, who lashed out without looking or thinking. I am not defending the stupid brute’s reaction, however, I really would not like to see him killed by a bunch of riled up rednecks. Please pray for George County High School today.

    Mornin

MrsH, that’s just awful! And you are right, riled up rednecks can get really stupid.
Praying that it all comes out okay.

Yeah, we’ve all seen what riled up rednecks can do and Mississippi is still trying to overcome the reputation they have given us.

    Morning.

MrsH how horrible. Prayers for you down there.
Hubby just texted me.. Their payroll lady passed away last night in her sleep. They have all been under a lot of stress the past couple of months. This lady was so sweet.. He and I just both loved her….hubby is taking it hard. What is so strange is he and I were talking about her last night at supper.. Me asking how she was doing and all. Please pray for this family.

  6. Mrs. H says:

Oh, Ms.B, I am so sorry. And when the payroll lady is gone, everyone else has just a bit more stress.

There have been lots of questions about why someone didn’t stop what happened in the cafeteria. El says it happened so fast, that it was over before anyone knew what was happening. It wasn’t technically a “fight.” It was one punch! If that student had taken the time to turn around and evaluate what had happened, I think even someone with his reputation and record would have known better. But he didn’t. He let a spirit of retaliation and anger rule over him and now he’ll have consequences, legal and probably otherwise. I pray the rest of the county doesn’t let that same spirit take control of them.

MrsH that is so horrible, prayers for GCHS. People react before thinking way to much. We should always be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to anger.

AW I hope your dad is still doing well, prayers for him. CP and Orville, MsB and DWB as they look for employment, and the rest of us with our own issues going on.

  8. Airwolf says:

Morning! Don’t know much new. Waiting on doctor. They are now treating Daddy for an infection, origin unknown! One thing is certain, Everytime he goes in that hospital he has an infection. Had hoped to go back to the Meadows today looks iffy!

Prayers for CP and Orville! Also praying for all the others mentioned above!

Word of advice, worth what you pay for it: If you don’t know with absolute 100% certainty that a woman is pregnant, DO NOT make any comment to her about her appearance. It could be that she’s just fat, and you just made her feel 10 times worse about herself than she already did.

We had to go to Raymond this morning and on the way back we stopped by IHOP for a bite to eat. I ordered a patty melt and onion rings since they are one of the few places you can get both done right. The waitress came back and said they were out of rye bread, but could put it on wheat or something else. I absolutely refuse to knowingly eat a patty melt wanna be, so I ordered the chicken florentine crepes with hollandaise sauce and they were really good. I love crepes and wish we had a real crepe restaurant around here.

George County broke its perfect record with a win over Hancock last night. I think that makes us 1-7 for the season.
