Wow! (I think I said that already about the mattress topper) It deserves to be said again! Great night’s sleep. The girls sat on my bed for an hour telling me their Christmas parade adventures which now thankfully, they can smile with the telling, rather than immediately after when the texts simply said “Horrible” and “I can’t even think about it right now!” I sat in my new chair and we had girl time.

Now, I must remove the final briar splinter resulting from last weekend’s yard work that I discovered in my finger while in ATL. All the needles I had with me were tapestry needles. Oh, I just forgot that I have a sewing kit in my purse. Alas…..

I was back at the doctor Friday, thinking for sure that I had a kidney or bladder infection. But, no, he asked if I had ever heard of lumbago and said I had it. Yeah, me!

  4. parrotmom says:

Glad you found your way back to us LegalE I was beginning to get the numbers together to call out the search party.

  5. Airwolf says:

Morning! I’m headed out to work on some outside Christmas Decorations. Weather is beautiful. I’ll bet it won’t be this warm when I take them down.

I hope your Monday is great!

Mornin’! Sitting at the hospital waiting for Poppy to go to the cath lab. He’s doing great-I’m nervous as a sore-tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs!

    • Mrs. H says:

I’m so glad you are able to be there for him. Just your presence is probably doing wonders for him, knowing that he’s not alone.

      • Clucky says:

Thanks, but I don’t know who’s getting the most out of my stay…I’ve felt better and slept better since I’ve been here. I don’t know if it’s the gulf air or just being away from the stress of home. If I could move down here tomorrow, I’d just tell Mr. Fab to send me a suitcase :)

    • parrotmom says:

I chuckled on your nervous description. So glad you can be there to support Poppy and Mr fab.

  7. Clucky says:

And yes, the gulf is PERFECT today :)

  8. parrotmom says:

Junk food for lunch today. Who recalls the candy counter at Sears and Roebucks on State Street. I could just walk around and stare at all the awesomeness and probably have a sugar rush from the smell.

  9. parrotmom says:

Blues—Tank told me to tell you high back.

  10. cardinallady says:

Flying through! I’ve got to go get some lunch before I faint. CardinalSon and I enjoyed the morning because he didn’t have to get to class until 10 so we had oatmeal together before he left.

  11. Clucky says:

I haven’t eaten today, and this piece of gum just ain’t cuttin’ it. Still waiting for him to go to the cath lab.

We’re looking out at the sunshine wishing we were sitting on the beach. If he feels up to it, and it’s not raining, we might stop and get some sand between our toes when he’s discharged.

PQ and I went to Dr. Barnes Eyemart early this morning and were second in line. PQ got a great deal on two pairs of glasses. She has a single prescription. I talked to them about progressive lens and they gave me a quote of $168 for two pairs. Then they asked to see my current lenses. My current lens are Varilux (Brand). They quickly told me they couldn’t offer Varilux but could offer me something similar for $268 for ONE pair of glasses. You’ve got to know that I normally pay about $400 for a pair. Anyway, after a few minutes of conversation, they decided they really shouldn’t try to do my glasses. That was after I asked if I could return them for a full refund if they don’t work like my current glasses. They admitted that both types of progressive lens they offer would limit my peripheral vision where Varilux doesn’t. I sincerely appreciated their frankness.

I once had an optical shop give me lenses other than Varilux even though my doctor prescribed the specific brand and they charged me for Varilux. The doctor caught the problem when I complained about not being able to see clearly. The optical firm quickly replaced my lenses at no additional cost. So, I’m off to find another source for lenses.

I can honestly recommend Dr. Barnes Eye Mart if you have standard lenses. They have a huge selection of frames, excellent prices and really do get your glasses ready in about an hour.

Well, change of plans. Poppy is being discharged!! We’ll be back Friday morning for his cath. He’s doing great!

And I get a few days to spend with Poppy :) I’ll miss our Christmas parade tomorrow night-the first one I’ve missed in 11 years (at least).

  14. parrotmom says:

Evening everyone. Entergy changed out my meter from a dial type to one they can read by a device. I guess after 20 years of having them not read my meter that shouldn’t happen again.

  15. dhcoop says:

    Evenin!

Clucky, glad you are enjoying your time at the Gulf, even though it’s not for the best of reasons. Enjoy your time with Poppy and I’m so glad he’s doing well enough to go home!

Big Sis is enjoying an evening with Mom & Dad, and I hear that lil sis, A, and Poppy joined them. I’m a little jealous! I’m here in Gtown dealing with the aftermath of Hurricane Big Sis! j/k I’m just so happy she’s HOME!!

NOT real happy that my throat is feeling scratchy. I think I need to do a warm salt water gargle before I go to bed tonight. I am determined not to come down with anything this week. Got too much to do!

Oh well…got to go put the monster (aka duvet) in the washer. It’ll probably eat me alive before I get it back on to the comforter. It’s like putting an 8 foot pile of jelly into a 7 foot envelope. NOT a fan of duvets, in case you can’t tell…

Y’all take care and have a great evening!

  16. Clucky says:

Coop, you kill me with your descriptions :) I’ve told Mr. Fab that putting the duvet cover on the comforter is shoving a 10 pound pig in a five pound sack :D

    • dhcoop says:

Really…WHO came up with the idea of a COVER for a COMFORTER??? REALLY?? WHY??? Get a new comforter…or a blanket for goodness sakes!!

Oh well…here I go…going to check the progress of the laundry. If y’all don’t hear from me, you’ll know what happened…

Headline…”A local blogger, commonly known as “Coop” was found bound and gagged today by a large piece of material that some people refer to as a duvet”.

Coop had previously experienced some issues with the “duvet”. It seems that Coop was not known for her laundry skills, and the duvet got the best of her.

      Story at 10…

  17. Old Bopper says:

My first encounter with a duvet was on my initial trip to Germany. The hotels don’t use bedspreads but do have a wonderful down filled comforter in a duvet. I’d never seen that before and decided I was supposed to crawl into the duvet under the comforter and use it like a sleeping bag. We were staying in a small German hotel and fortunately I had my own private room….an advantage of being an officer.
