Mornin!
I sure wish the weather would make up it’s mind. We are all going to end up sick if it keeps this up.
Hope everyone has a great day!
Morning! It is wet, soggy and dark up here! Crazy weather.
Morning everyone, about 9:00 am. MrsH I enjoyed your rainbow pics you posted. I think strange to see a rainbow so early in the morning, but God is awesome with the beauty of the universe.
Hope you all stay healthy with our weather changes like we have here in. The Land Mass :)
CLady I was upset with myself thinking I missed your birthday then realized it was this coming Saturday.
I’m still waiting for that snickerdoodle bread recipe, Molly, when you get a chance to post it.
We’re leaving Friday morning to drive down to see my youngest child half way down the west coast of Florida and taking the dog. If I don’t go running and screaming into the surf, tearing at my hair as I run, I will be back.
We’re having our Pearl bridge players Christmas party tomorrow and everyone is taking finger food type things. I’m still trying to figure out what to take. I bet that snickerdoodle bread would be good. Calling Molly….
I hope you have a great time and relax!
Have a great time!!
Ok, ok…here’s the recipe:
Snickerdoodle Bread
1 cup butter or margarine (softened)
2 cups sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons cinnamon
3 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 1/2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
3/4 cup sour cream
1 (8 ounce) package Hershey’s cinnamon baking chips
3 Tablespoons sugar
3 teaspoons cinnamon
Directions:
Cream butter, sugar, salt and cinnamon until fluffy.
Add eggs and mix well.
Add vanilla and sour cream and mix.
Mix flour and baking powder in a separate bowl. Add to wet ingredients and mix until well combined.
Add cinnamon chips and stir into batter.
Spoon batter into loaf pans until about 2/3 full. (Makes about 6 mini loaves, or 3 regular loaves.)
Mix 3 tablespoons of sugar and 3 teaspoons of cinnamon in a bowl and sprinkle over the batter in the loaf pans.
Bake at 350 degrees for 35-38 minutes.
(Molly’s note: I found that the cinnamon/sugar mixture made WAY too much for my loaves. I put the excess in a container to use with the next batch.)
Sounds good Molly. Where did you get the cinnamon baking chips?
Looks like another perfect weekend in store. BTW, in case you don’t know, you can go on the USPS site and complete a request for them to hold your mail while you are gone. The first day is when they begin and the last day is when they deliver. It works well, I’ve used it several times.
OB, I found them in the special holiday baking display at the Flowood Walmart. They are a seasonal item, so you better get them while you can.
Howdy from the gray skies of Harrison county. About to do some errands. Trying to take care of home business while 200 miles away is a pain.
LegalE I hope you have a safe and funfilled trip to Florida.
Clucky handling home business when not at home is a definite pain. I did it for six weeks while in Houston the first time and 2 weeks the second time around. My only advantage was no one was home like children or spouse. I did call the vets office to check on my dog to see if he were missing me :)
I just listened to Rod Stewart’s newest album “Merry Christmas, Baby.” It is wonderful. There is a duet with Ella Fitzgerald (well, Chris Botti is on trumpet, so I guess it’s a trio) that is worth the price of the album.
afternoon. lunch was red beans and rice left over from last night.
molly: that sounds awesome.. willhave to copy when get home tonight.
LE: have a safe trip.
Legal, just pack that bathing suit and enjoy the surf while you are there. Florida is a beautiful state no matter where you land as long as you are near the ocean. :)
Yeah, yeah, I know I’m LAAATTTEE flying through. I have been scanning old pictures and fixing dear Santa letters. Not working tomorrow. :) It’s my vacation day for the week. I think I like this.
Anyway I sure do hope Clucky tells the ocean in Ocean Springs hi for me. That is a pretty little town. Incidentally, how is Poppy doing today.
Hey, we just had this bizarre thing happen here. Lady came out of the library and reported her car stolen. The police, as they were going to the scene said it seemed like a repo job. Got there and shortly into the investigation found out that it WAS a repo job, but they got the wrong car. Wrong color. wrong tag number. The lady was JUUSST a LITTTTLE bit upset. I would be too. She had to wait a total of an hour for them to get her car back to her from the time she reported it until they said ooops and returned it.
I’d be TICKED off, big time!
Evenin!
Molly, I’m definitely going to share that one with the family. We may even add it to the cooking we are doing this weekend, although I think we already have plenty of stuff on the list.
Really busy at work, but it’s all good. People are trying to cram as much as they can in before the holidays. I still need to see about what vacation days I need to schedule. I know I have some left and don’t want to lose them.
Hope everyone is having a good evening!
Thank you for the recipe Molly. It sounds great and I will have to try it real soon.
I found out my vet doesn’t have room to board pets and the one between here and Brandon killed my friend’s dog. I need to find a place for Hoodlum to stay because she has quit using her litterpan and we have started letting her stay outside most of the time. Braveheart can stay here with plenty of food and water and litter. So now I’m going to have to check around in the morning for a place for Hoodlum.
We’re having our Pearl bridge group Christmas party at noon tomorrow and then playing at 1:00.
Poppy’s doing well! He’s having some shortness of breath when he walks a fair bit (WalMart, Home Depot), but other than that, very well. Thanks for asking!
PM, you are a tough nut :) I wish I could just make a trip and give all of you a big hug!
CLady, I would love to go to Ocean Springs. We’re on the other side-Pass Christian. At least every time we’ve been out, I’ve made a “wrong turn ” (cough cough) so I get to at least glimpse the water.
I’m homesick. My girl missed school again today due to illness. Mr Fab is sounding pretty rough too. I’m not sleepin at night. Chicklette called me frantically earlier today-she thought my Persian was dying. No honey, that’s a hairball! I miss my critters. So much at home to do. The tree hasn’t been put up yet, and i have one gift so far.
The clutch is acting up in my car, and Thing 1 is using the truck because the transmission is acting up in his Jimmy. The boy doesn’t even know how to check the fluid. I told him to plan a day learning “manly” stuff. (No offense to the ladies.) my daddy made sure I knew all I could about caring for a car before I got my license. I wish I had done the same thing with my boys. I’m sans vehicle down here, so of course I get to chauffeur Poppy in the Murano. Oooh, throw me in the briar patch!
Evening!! Been busy at chuch then rushed home to spend time with the parrot and realized he didn’t eat his supper, so had to make some fresh and he was happy.
Thurs. 6:23 a.m.
Good morning, all.
Dinner with the deacons and wives tonight and just the church staff tomorrow night. Then off to Starkville for a wedding on Saturday (after Em takes the ACT). We’ll miss the dress rehearsal for the Christmas musical, but be there for the real thing. I need a break.
6:30 am Good Thursday morning. It feels like FRIDAY :( See you good folks later.
