    Mornin!

It’s Friday!!! And this is going to be a GREAT weekend! All of us girls are having our cooking weekend at A’s in Eburg. We’ve even got one friend coming in from the UAE for the festivities! LOTS of goodies will be made (and consumed). Fun times!

    Sounds like fun, Coop!
Kiddo had a good birthday. She loved all her gifts — even hugged me and said thank you multiple times. I think I’m still in shock. A couple of her friends went out to eat with us and then hung out at the house till past my bedtime. But that’s ok, we all had fun.

I’ve spent an hour just listening to M vent and tell me all about her week. It’s nice getting hugs from my daughter. I’ve missed her desperately this week!

Morning! I had a good day off yesterday. Got some cleaning done. Visited with my neighbor next door. He brought me a bag of birthday goodies over sent by his mama.

Now, I have a question. Both of her sons, who are grown, enjoy playing the guitar, in fact this young man that came over yesterday showed me a picture of his ‘v’ shaped guitar. Now what is one thing that guitar players need? I always carry them Christmas goodies, but I’d like to give them something that revolved around their enjoyment.

Afternoon! Finally got my animated deer, spiral Christmas trees and lighted wreath out! Two of the deer have led lights and the other two have convention bulbs which give me fits every Christmas!

If you’re working, I hope the afternoon passes quickly!

LOL Eagle!! I got the last bag of cinnamon chips from our WalMart. I looked for more but didn’t find any.

Made Molly’s Snickerdoodle bread this morning. Waiting for it to cool so I can try it. Smells mighty good.

Loving this warmth. Think I’ll take Bleuz out this afternoon for a long leisurely ride.

  10. OldBopper says:

OK, got me a piece of the Snickerdoodle bread. Good stuff but I really don’t think the cinnamon chips are critical to the taste.

I have a similar recipe for a coffee cake:

    1 cup pecan pieces
3/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
    1/4 cup sugar
    1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Combine the first four ingredients into a small bowl stirring well and set aside.

1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
    1 cup sugar
    2 large eggs
    2 cups all purpose flour
    2 teaspoons baking powder
    1/2 teaspoon baking soda
    1/2 teaspoon salt
    1 cup sour cream
    1 teaspoon vanilla extract.

Beat butter at medium speed about two minutes or until creamy.
Gradually add 1 cup sugar, beating at medium speed 5-7 monutes.
Add eggs, one at a time beating after each addition.
Combine flour, baking powder, soda, and salt; add to butter mixture alternately with sour cream, beginning and ending with flour mixture.
Mix at low speed until blended after each addition. Stir in vanilla.

Pour half of batter in to a lightly greased 13x9x2 inch pan. sprinkle half of pecan mixture over batter. Repeat the procedure with the batter and pecan mixture.

Bake at 325 for 40-45 minutes. Cool in pan on wire rack. Yield: 12 servings

Poppy did okay with his cath. Having some chest pain-doc said its normal after the main artery being mostly blocked. He’ll be moved to the heart floor later today.

    Thanks for your prayers.

Chicklette has talked my ear off since they got here. Mr Fab is exhausted, so we came out to the country for a while so he can get a nap.

  12. Mrs. H says:

Got my Christmas tree in a bucket, having a drink on the front porch. I found a bird nest tucked up next to the truck.

I know exactly what you mean about the girl, Clucky. When we got home last weekend, they both sat on my bed telling me their parade story for an hour. :)

  13. cardinallady says:
