Morning! Merry Christmas! Finally got all the letters posted out to Santa Claus in the newspaper.

Oh Marshall! I pray your van will be alright and won’t hurt the pocketbook too bad.
    God will provide.

Oh, that reminds me, I’ve got to tell you all a story. Last Saturday I was headed through the four-way stop in the sprinkling rain. A chevy blazer was in front of me and right after the intersection I noticed the woman pulled over. I went around her, but in my rear view mirror I noticed her lights flicker then die.

I circled around in the next parking lot and headed back toward her. “Do you need help?” I inquired. She needed a jump. Her battery wasn’t working properly. I drove my car to hers and we lifted our hoods. “I’m concerned about this,” she said as she wiggled the air intake cover. It was loose. I prayed and grabbed my pink tool bag. Years of granddaddy’s fix it til you can go further kicked in. I black taped that thing on, sealing it as far around as I could with the tape then taping it down. “This is JUST TEMPORARY” I insisted. all the while I was praying that God would send someone along who knew more about what I was doing than I did. Just as we got ready to hook up the cables another car pulled into the same lot I was in. “Do y’all need help?” The guy asked. “yes” the girl said. I sized him up, I didn’t think he knew anything about a car, but he was help. as he started toward us, he said, “I do this for a living.” [oh ye of little faith] I grinned and thanked God for sending him our way and asked forgiveness for judging a book by its cover. He inspected my work, “that’s a good idea” he said. He helped jump her off and he gave her his cell number and told her to call him if her car went dead again before she reached her destination. I think he was an angel. Wow! Merry Christmas!

I’m here, I just have been feeling out of sorts lately. I wish I had time to figure out what’s bothering me. I’m looking forward to leaving my office tomorrow afternoon and not coming back until Wednesday.

  10. parrotmom says:

Evening to you all. sorry I was missing most of the day. Trying to work is getting harder to do.

  11. Old Bopper says:

Good Thursday morning! Got to work this morning then I’ll be through for the year.

Cardinal, I love the story. There are angels among us.

Congrats to M after her first semester! Hope she keeps it up.

MrsH, I’m kinda in a funk too. I think the senseless acts of violence have put a damper on the season. But we’ve got to remember that God knows what it is like to lose a child to senseless violence.

Y’all be careful out there, and if you see me behind you, please move over and let me by. :~))
