The little book that could

Book UprightWhile I miss Banjo frequently, I know the little dog’s spirit is still with me. Never had I met a tougher animal than him; he just wanted to live.  Banjo the dog was 10% teeth, 20% brains and 70% heart.  And that heart drove a will stronger than any person I know.

So it only makes sense that a book dedicated to him would have an equally strong will.  Last week I was on the Dave Ramsey show talking about it.  His website offered the book at rock-bottom price for 48 hours to coincide with my appearance on the show.  “Bring 200 books. We’ll probably sell 100 and keep 100 on reserve,” they said.

Within ten minutes, they had sold 150. The plug ended up being pulled early on the special because amazing sales had wiped out my remaining inventory of books.

Needless to say, I’m ordering more books.

On Christmas morning, I received dozens of tweets from people unwrapping their book.  I had photos of it sitting next to fried chicken and a glass of wine. Yesterday, I received a long note from a lady explaining how it had changed her life.

It’s the little book that could.

And it is just like the little brown dog it honors.

If you’d like a copy, you can order one from Lemuriabooks.com.  Soon, I will be getting it on Amazon.  We’re working on national distribution (although Lemuria can ship anywhere in the world). An e-version is on the horizon and I might even do an audio book.

Banjo would be proud of “his” book.

I know I am .

I ordered one for my husband for Christmas through Lemuria’s website, they had a problem with my card and they called and left a message on my answering machine. The look on my husband’s face when he heard the message was priceless! LOL He looked at me and said Lemuria is the bookstore in Jackson, I asked him if there was anychance that he could pretend he didn’t hear that! LOL But he was very happy Christmas morning when he opened the book!

Just heard about your book, Fried Chicken and Wine, on Friday Jan 11th on the Dave Ramsey show. He said it would be available for $10 over the next 48 hours and be on his website but I can’t find it and customer service is not open. Can you tell me if this is a valid offer? Thanks! Really anxious to buy several copies and give them to friends and family.

It quickly sold 800 copies, wiping out my inventory. I’m reordering and we’ll get it back on his site soon — probably a little closer to it’s actual price.

    WOW! 800? AWESOME!! ^5, Boss!

So you’ve sold what, 3,000 since Mistletoe? About 2 or 3 months, tops? Heck YES !!

I am so proud for you Marshall! I have my copy on my desk at work and read (or re-read) something almost every day — sometimes several times a day if I need a lift.

You deserve every bit of success — with your book and everything else. Your hard work and optimism is an inspiration to me.

I have enjoyed reading more about your works and Banjo. I was referred to you by your parents whom I met at work in Marietta,Ga. They had so many wonderful things to say about you that I just had to find out more! You are an inspiration and your positive attitude is a wonderful asset in today’s world and society. I look forward to looking more into your works and new book about Banjo.

Loved Fried Chicken & Wine, loaned to me by a friend. Went on line at Barnes & Nobles to get a copy. I inserted the title in the correct box and received 50 Fried Chicken recipes and 3 pages of wines and no information on purchasing the book.
I see Tom Little created the cover. Thought he might be a relative but found out the
Tim Little I know is still In jail, could he be YOUR MAN?

Being a Mississipian, from Mississippi State am proud of your success but still
can’t get a copy. Louisiana folks, well, JUST DIFFERENT!!!!!
