Good Thursday morning!!! It is 6:05 am.

  2. OldBopper says:

G’morning! Our Panamanian host is going to freeze to death with the temperature drop today. He’s already cut off the a/c upstairs and we forgot to tell him about blankets last evening. You’ve got to understand that when it gets below 80 down there, they offer us blankets.

He’s a great guy and speaks English better than most of us. He will be a great asset to the Diocesean Racial Reconciliation conference being held this weekend in Starkville.

Hope everybody has a great Thursday. I’ve got to go put the garbage out. Toodles!

  3. parrotmom says:

Marshall I hope you have safe travels to Greenwood and hope your show goes well.

  4. parrotmom says:

OB glad your guest is here. So sorry he is not used to our temps.

  5. OldBopper says:

BTW, I remember seeing Elizabeth Taylor in Mississippi when they were filming “Raintree County” at the Windsor Ruins. She was mighty pretty.

But in my humble opinion, the most beautiful actress to grace the silver screen was and is Sophia Loren.

  6. dhcoop says:

    Mornin!

  7. parrotmom says:

Hmmmm!!! it is a nice cool temp outside. Almost like Spring :)

  8. Ann Onimous says:

Oog. I’m at home sick, and the dog has taken over my spot in bed. It’s not going to be a good day…

  9. Sheila Gold says:

Morning All! I hope it’s not going to be another one of those “work through lunch” days again! Thanks to everyone for the “welcome back” messages! Y’all have a great day!

  10. parrotmom says:

Hope everyone has a happy and wonderful day. CP welcome back to the real world of work :)

  11. Mrs. H says:

I have a ream of paper cut to 8 1/2 inch squares on my desk. There was a conflict at our local elementary school on Dr. Seuss’s birthday (Read Across America day, March 2) so we’re doing it tomorrow. M2 is the president of the PTO, and she does things right! There will be an origami station to go with a book about an origami crane. I’ll be folding all day long…

Mark is geocaching today with the 5th and 6th graders today. He put out 42 geocaches on the school campus this week. They will have a great time!

  12. Molly says:

Mornin. It’s been crazy busy at work this week and showing no signs of slowing down.

LegalSec, glad you checked in with us again. I had been wondering about you. Has hubby found a job?

Gotta go. Lotsa legal documents to prepare today.

  13. The Real JB says:

Do any of you ever look at your teenager and say, “What were you thinking?” This has been one of the week for us.

  14. Molly says:

Teenager and thinking? Those 2 things don’t go together AT ALL!

  15. msblondie says:

morning gang! I just love wrecks in the morning on 55 S -Northbound. Took an hour to get from Terry to the 55/20 split this morning. And of course you get the idiots that think the shoulder of the road is a driving lane.

ok.. now for me to get busy this morning. everyone have a great day.

  16. The Real JB says:

Can anybody tell me why we are involved in this Lybia mess?

  17. The Real JB says:

Geeze…you talk world politics in here and you kill the blog. Aren’t you all intellectuals with opinions?

    • Barb says:

So far, so good. As long as Obama sticks to the plan and we don’t get into another ground war, I agree with the coalition’s plan

    • Airwolf says:

As a frequent (in years past) participant in some of these forays, we know how to get in but never seem to have a exit plan.

  18. dhcoop says:

jb, I’m not quite sure. They say we needed to do it to protect the civilians, but that doesn’t seem to be working.

    I’m about to fix a salad. :)

  19. parrotmom says:

Thursday’s FFA finally decided to show up. I have been able to read from computer. I just can’t reply there.

JB no clue on the political stuff.

I wonder how many origami’s MrsH has completed and if any paper cuts?

  20. parrotmom says:

I agree with Molly on teenager and thinking do not belong together.

AnnO sorry you are ill today. I hooe you get to feeling better soon.

  21. parrotmom says:

lunch is chicken strips and onion rings. I bet I am talking to myself? not to bad only 3 in a row.

  22. Ann Onimous says:

We’re at UMC. IG is getting his first radiation treatment today. I’d forgotten how much I hate soap operas.

Tonight is the first Associational drill, and LilO will be drilling. IG3 is waiting until the other Associational drill on Sunday.

  23. Molly says:

    Are you feeling better AnnO?

  24. Molly says:

JB, I think you’re question went unanswered because nobody has an answer.

  25. parrotmom says:

AnnO at least the radiation does not last as long as the chemo.

  26. Mrs. H says:

PM, the origami is tomorrow. Sorry if I said today.

I’ve been trying to figure out an MP3 player for a church member. I’ve got songs loaded on it, but it took me an hour to figure out how to find them. This has got to be the most user-UNfriendly device I’ve ever seen. And the manual looks like it’s been translated by someone unfamiliar with the English language! My word! And while menus read from top to bottom, you use the left and right arrows to move up and down. Talk about confusing. I don’t have much hope for the future of this device.

  27. Mrs. H says:

I think someone in Pearl underestimated the will of a certain shop owner. Note: most (if not all!) of those places that buy and sell gold and jewelry have guns on the premises. I’ll not even speak to dressing up in female clothing!

    • Molly says:

And one of the poor saps forgot one little detail in his female costume. He got the women’s underwear ok (doubt anybody would have checked for that), but the mustache kinda gave him away!

  28. Airwolf says:

Hey folks. I’ve been up at my farm servicing the tractor and the lawn mower I keep up there. Went over the hill and visited my parents, fixed a drippy kitchen sink while I was there.

JB I replied on your Libya comment. Interestingly enough, Google is calling it the Libya War.

  29. OldBopper says:

Once I was exposed to war, I became anti-war. I support our men and women in uniform 100% but not the politicians who put them in harms way….especially when those political leaders have never put their butts on the line. Now if Bill Clinton, “W” or Obama decided to go fight Kadafi one-on-one, then I’d support that. There would be less killing and less wars if the leaders of both sides had to encounter each other bare handed before they could put their people in a war situation.

Personally, I don’t think it is any of our business what goes on in Libya. What would you think if the US was embroiled in civil strife and China flew over here and started popping missles on everybody? We are going to wind up making both sides mad.

  30. The Real JB says:

I think Iraq and Afganistan both prove that we cannot get out of these situations that we get ourselves in. If we are going to invade anybody let’s invade Mexico and deal with all those cartels who are killing Americans along the border or let’s plant some destroyers off the coast of Somalia and kick some hijacker butt. Geeze let’s invade Canada. All they ever given us is hockey.

  31. parrotmom says:

Hello to anyone that joins the party this evening :)

  32. Ann Onimous says:

We’re back from Associational. LilO did perfect – did not miss a single call – and goes on to State. All five who drilled tonight go on to State. IG3 will join most of the team and drill on Sunday.

  33. dhcoop says:

    Evenin!

    Congrats to LilO!

    Watching AI results.

  34. parrotmom says:

Hello Coop and AnnO!!!! Congrats to LilO!!! and hope the same for IG3 at his chance.

Decided to have PD’s cousin to paint the hall. I have bunches of caps to remove and nails to yank out. Why use a border when you can hang a cap.

  35. Mrs. H says:

I’m so excited!! I just made the reservation for a Gulf Shores condo for 3 nights next week. 2 other moms and our kids (grades 4, 6, 7, 8, 2@10 & 12). We’re going to do a beach mission while we’re there: free bottles of water, face painting, hair wraps and anything else we can think of and afford. Some more of the kids’ friends will drive down for the day one of the days and I know of another mom and her kids that will come down for a day, too. It may end up being a bigger mission (more folks involved) than the canceled one to Mexico! I’m even working on a series of short devotional based on a train station. I’ll post it somewhere when it’s finished.

  36. dhcoop says:

    That sounds great MrsH!

AI was a shocker in more ways than one tonight. Great show!

  37. parrotmom says:

MrsH that is great!!! Coop so glad you and your mom enjoyed AI!!
Good night to all!!! I will probably check back later….

  38. dhcoop says:

OK, I love my droid, but ATT sucks.

  41. OldBopper says:

5:36 am on Friday morning. Hope everybody has a safe drive in today. The weather is rather cool outside. PQ is taking our guest to Starkvile today to attend the conference he is here for. He will be back late Saturday evening. We have him a ride back with a priest attending the same conference.
