    Morning!

  2. parrotmom says:

Good morning everyone. Thanks for the weather forecast from OB and Coop on yesterdays FFA. I best hurry and hit the shower.

  3. parrotmom says:

    It is 5:57 am

  4. Mrs. H says:

NOAA’s weather site is missing some of it’s features. I was trying to find the forecast for Atlanta and Mobile for Mr. H and their hourly weather graph is “temporarily not available for this location for technical reasons. We apologize for any inconvenience.”
Mobile’s “Sunny with a high in the 70’s” is probably plenty of info.

But Atlanta’s “Showers and thunderstorms likely in the morning… Then mostly sunny in the afternoon. Windy. Highs in the lower 70s. West winds 10 to 20 mph. Chance of rain 60 percent” leaves me wondering how bad it will be and will it effect a flight that left from Lima shortly before midnight the night before.

  5. Mrs. H says:

I’m afraid the local weather outlook may put the nix (or at least a hold) on El’s singing opportunity. Showers and thunderstorms likely, damaging winds. We’ll see how things turn out.

In other news, I started knitting a sock. The form of a sock is something that we take for granted, I believe. This one is bright orange. I figured my first attempt, if not pretty, should at least be …. hmmm…. distinctive.

  6. Mrs. H says:

In case you missed it last night, Mr. H did get his bag yesterday afternoon. After a trip lasting 7 nights, he will return home with mostly clean clothes!!

  7. Mrs. H says:

Okay, that’s 3 in a row (this may make 4).

    Y’all wake up out there!!

  8. parrotmom says:

Thanks for the update MrsH. Very little washing to be done for MrH. So sorry it took him the whole time to get his luggage. I hope they don’t misplace it again coming home. Everyone be careful heading out to work. It may be bad, hopefully we will all make it in before the first line comes through another one should be around lunch for the Jackson area.

  9. parrotmom says:

PNC what is so Super Fantastic about today?

  10. blues4you says:

    Good morning.

    Y’all stay safe today.

  11. Clucky says:

The fact it is FRIDAY is SUPER FANTASTIC to me!

I’m wearing my day-glo flourescent t-shirt today so if I get blown away, at least I will be easy to find!

  12. dhcoop says:

    Mornin again!

I got to the office a little after 6:30. Looking at the radar, I could have probably waited a bit later, but didn’t want to take the chance.

Keep an eye on the sky!

  13. parrotmom says:

Looks like I will make it to work in plenty of time. I hope everyone has a “Super Fantastic” Friday and no bad storm damage.

Prayers to the Young Staff Sargent’s family and friends I am not able to be on the road for support but I am there in spirit.

  14. parrotmom says:

    LOL!!! at Clucky.

  15. LegalSec says:

Hang on everyone! It’s going to be a bumpy ride today!

  16. Airwolf says:

Morning folks. It looks like we are about to get hammered. Keep an eye to the sky!!

  17. Crystalbutterfly says:

    hey all!!
    HAPPY FRIDAY!!!
if you can’t make it to Brandon tomorrow pray for the ones that will be there

  18. Barb says:

Morning!! Have to take my sister to Wal-Mart. Stay safe!!

  19. OldBopper says:

Mawnin’ y’all. Slept like a baby and didn’t awake until about 8am. Feel rested for sure. A check on my weather map says we may not get much of the severe stuff but north central Mississippi is getting hammered. Haven’t watched anything on TV so I’m probably way off base.

MrsH, glad to know he got his baggage. There’s an article in the SunHerald this morning about the place in Alabama where lost luggage goes as it’s “final” destination. Now you don’t need to read about it.

PQ says her arm is much better. I forgot to set up the coffee for her and she had to make it herself this morning and said getting the coffee can open was the most difficult part. She made good coffee.

  20. OldBopper says:

Question: If the airline loses your luggage will they refund your luggage fee?

    • Mrs. H says:

I was wondering the same thing, OB. I think you get at least one checked bag with your ticket though. I do believe he will be receiving some complementary skymiles.

  21. OldBopper says:

You know, those people from Kansas have never demonstrated in Rankin County. They may not be familiar with the term “Rankin County Redneck” but I got a feeling if they show their scrawny a$$e$ they may learn the hard way. Folks in Rankin County don’t take too lightly to anti-patroitism. And I’m not sure police protection will arrive in time to save them from the cuts and bruises that happen when the Rednecks open up a can of whoop a$$. And I definitely know that a local jury will not be sympathetic to their cause. Just sayin’

    • CornPop says:

You’ve got THAT right, OB. Orville and I will be side by side with those Rankin County Rednecks, as will my daughter & SIL, out there tomorrow protecting the family from those &^%*(&#@ low-down dogs from Kansas! It could get ugly…

  22. OldBopper says:

Three in a row!!! Oops, four.

  23. Mrs. H says:

I think I’ll have another cup of coffee, then I need to head south to make arrangements for a purchase this weekend!! o~7o

  24. msblondie says:

a quick morning.. busy day.. but makes the time go faster.

going up to Memphis tomorrow. M is looking at going to University of Memphis they are having a big day for Juniors tomorrow. So will be a long busy weekend.

    now to work.

  25. The Real JB says:

Four in a row means you are talking to yourself.

    Morning all.

  26. Barb says:

Back from Wal-Mart. Raining when I left, but doing nothing right now at 10:26.

  27. dhcoop says:

    sirens going off downtown

  28. OldBopper says:

Looks like most of the bad stuff is staying west of Brandon. The Reservoir area, Ridgeland and Madison will take a lick though.

  29. dhcoop says:

just saw footage of cars tossed upside down in Clinton

  30. msblondie says:

survived… trying to get a hold of C… I know MC took care of them.. but a mom worries…

we watched it go down the road here at the office.. and had 50 people crammed into a small place.

  31. Molly says:

Starting to clear off at the Rez. Talked to my dad in Clinton. They have a huge tree uprooted (barely missed the house), window blown out, and shingles from their brand new roof blown off. But they are ok.

  32. dhcoop says:

I’ve lost phone service. Anyone else use att?

  33. cardinallady says:

Morning. The red bird has finally landed. God eased a big oak tree to the ground for us during the night. It was across my driveway when I went outside this morning. He laid it down at just the right place. It didn’t hit the house or the dogs house. AMEN. AND my car wasn’t parked there either. DOUBLE AMEN, especially since this ride will be PAID FOR next month. YES!!!!!

Since we were under a tornado watch and the tree came down because of the storm and I couldn’t get out of my driveway, I called my supervisor to bring his men to saw it enough for us to get out. Supervisors are allowed to come on private property on those kinds of conditions to move a tree out of the way for a resident. Y’all keep that in mind next time you are in that kind of situation. It has to be those very specific conditions, bad weather and you have no way of getting out of your driveway.

My little sis saw the tree, circled back and came to hug me, then daddy called before I got to work asking if I needed his help. Bless his heart, 73 years old and wanting to get out in the DELUGE we had and help if I needed him.

I had an 8 am appointment and then a 10 a.m. appointment so that is why I’m just now flying in.

  34. cardinallady says:

    EAGLE, are you okay?

  35. dhcoop says:

I was going to leave at noon and go take care of my truck problems, but I can’t get on the road without phone service. Looks like it turns out to be a blessing, because if I had left when I planned, I would be driving right into this next cell. Sirens are going off again.

  36. Ann Onimous says:

ATT cell phone service is out. We lost power for about 10 minutes: we have a large piece of plywood in the backyard where the neighbors have been roofing. We’re all okay. Can any other Clintonians check in?

  37. dhcoop says:

I can’t get in touch with my daughter. I just saw footage of a neighborhood in Clinton that is torn up. I think it was called Avon place.

  38. Clucky says:

Any word from PM? I saw Susan is okay, not sure about GG’s and PM’s homes. Philly just had the storm that hit Clinton, but no tornado even they were under a warning. You would know Thing 2 was delivering pizzas in this mess. If there is bad weather in Philly, he’s at work. Every time. Talked to him and he’s okay.

Mr Fab was in the path of two tornado warnings. I was making buttonholes.
    GAH.

Look for money if the storm from Clinton came over you. That tornado hit a bank! There is money everywhere!!

  39. Clucky says:

Coop, check the radar, tornado warning in CS!!

  40. dhcoop says:

I saw that Clucky! Talked to Friend while ago and they were fine so far. Finally heard from my Baby Girl. She’s fine. She had lost service too. It’s back up now.

  41. GrammarGirl says:

Went through my neighborhood. Extensive damage, but none to my home. No power, no phone land lines, no access unless you live there or are picking a child up from the school that has no lights or air and can’t serve lunch. . .

  42. dhcoop says:

    Glad you are ok GG!

Just talked to Friend. He’s got one tree down, but otherwise ok. Had some golf ball size hail.

We need to hear from PM!

  43. msblondie says:

got a hold of C and her bbf. they are ok.. i had to take them some lunch as campus is out of power… but ia m reporting a professor. he would not let them leave class and they were on the 3rd floor of the building.. the campus security had to come evcuate them from the room to the basement.

As I took the back roads (Northside Drive) i cant really give a damage report. Northside was clear.. just lots of traffic on it.

  44. Molly says:

The Avon Place area is in my parents’ neighborhood. There is extensive damage all around their house, but just the bit I mentioned earlier on their house. Their power is still out. Their power lines are underground, so they rarely lose power. Even during Katrina, they had electricity. Kiddo and I moved in with them that week.

  45. dhcoop says:

Just heard from PM. They were spared, thank goodness.

  46. dhcoop says:

I have service now so I’m going to head out. I won’t be able to get the work done this afternoon, but I can get everything ready and handle a couple of other things. I’ll check in later.

  47. OldBopper says:

We’ve dodged all the bullets in the city of Brandon. Glad to know everybody appears alright. Still no word from LE?

  48. Barb says:

    PM is fine…no damage.

  49. CornPop says:

I just heard from a coworker in our Philly office that a school bus in DeKalb County, full of students, was blown off the road & they are now in search of it. The school officials let school out early thinking they could beat the storm, but didn’t make it in time. They can’t find the bus!!!!!!!!! Dear Lord, please let everyone be OK! :'(

  50. CornPop says:

Keep your head covered, Coop! Just heard that there’s another tornado in G’town area now & it’s heading for CS then probably coming for J’town. It’s going to be one rough drive home from work…

  51. Mrs. H says:

    Wow, about the bus!!

The eldest said they have had several storm chasing teams out today, so not much in the way of classroom time. I bet everyone not out on the trail was in the climate lab.

  52. dhcoop says:

Down in Grown. No power and am sitting on the porch looking at lines down across the road. Just watched one idiot drive over them. Already called Entergy. Got to go find Skeeter spray

  53. dhcoop says:

OK. Now sitting in a cloud of feet and citronella. Skeeters are backing off.

Entergy said they’ve put in an emergency order since there are lines across the road. I just watched another car blow past, slow down a little, then drove on thru. I would never do that! Take the chance that its not hot?? I don’t THINK so!!

Anyway, I guess I’ll hang out and hope Entergy gets here soon. I’m not going to stay without power. But I’ve got some daylight left.

  54. dhcoop says:

    Feet= deet LOL!!

    • clucky says:

I LOL’d at “cloud of feet and citronella”!!!!

My local nursery has citronella plants already, and we need them too. The skeeters tore me UP the other evening. I bought one plant the other day, but may go back and get a few more.

  55. dhcoop says:

Well, it finally happened. Someone hit the line at full speed and I could hear it ripping all into the pole and meter. Pole outside was shaking. Hope it didn’t damage the meter. Here comes another car.

  56. dhcoop says:

Well, now that the idiot drove thru them, they are lying flatter on the road, so EVERYBODY is driving over them. I hope Entergy gets here soon.

  57. dhcoop says:

Better locate all the candles and flashlights I can find. I really don’t need to leave until I can tell Entergy what I saw and heard in case there is damage to the meter on the house.

  58. dhcoop says:

    They’re here!!

  59. dhcoop says:

    They’re leaving!!

Crap! I did get to tell them about what I heard and saw. Apparently, lights are out everywhere down here.

  60. cardinallady says:

    has legal not checkd in

  61. dhcoop says:

When I can get to a real computer I will fill you in on details here. What a day!!

    Not heard from Leagle.

  62. dhcoop says:

Bless them…they are still at work trying to get power restored.

  63. dhcoop says:

Talked to PM. She said it might be Monday before they get power. I guess I’m doing pretty well considering. ..one truck…two men…that AREN’T enjoying a Friday night at home…

    God bless the linemen!

  64. dhcoop says:

I am supposedly 20 minutes away from having power. We’ll see…but regardless, I’m still grateful for the guys out doing this this time of night.

  65. pncpnthr says:

Well, I’m home & all is well here. It’s 12:20 AM. I worked the TIM MCGRAW CONCERT!!! My feet are mad at me but it was great! Even though I was working I got to enjoy the music.

  66. Mrs. H says:

Mr. H should be boarding now.

  67. dhcoop says:

Lx Power just came back on.

Glad you had fun lil sis!
