    Mornin!

It’s a bit chilly this morning. On my agenda for the day is to get my truck fixed, then go watch my Peanut play soccer.

  2. dhcoop says:

Talked to PM last night. There area is pretty torn up, and they are being told it will be Monday before they get power. Otherwise, they are okay.

  3. cardinallady says:

exactly what area of jx does she live in I’m posting from my phone

  4. dhcoop says:

    She lives in Clinton.

  5. Mrs. H says:

I’m glad you talked to PM. The videos I’ve seen are scary.

The GC baseball game was NOT played last night, so El didn’t get to sing. We watched a marathon of Glee and had Chinese take-out instead. Em was at a friend’s house.

Mr H has landed in Atlanta, confirmed by Delta and Bro. Jimmy’s FB post of a few seconds ago! : )

  6. Barb says:

    Good morning!!

    Happy birthday, Tank!!

    Happy Birthday, Tank!

Worked last night at the Tim McGraw concert. I had a blast! Haven’t worked that hard in several years but it was fun. Sometimes I miss being out with the crowds but I’m happy with my M-F position now. I’ve put in my time with the shift work. I’ll just have to get my fix with a special event like last night every now & then. And it was a “special event” in my book! Super Fantastic even!!! :)

It looks like it’s going to be a beautiful day. We need it after yesterday.

  8. dhcoop says:

    Happy Birthday Tank!!

I’m sitting at the garage in CS waiting on Hector (mechanic) to show up.

  9. Airwolf says:

    Happy birthday Tank!!

  10. clucky says:

Morning! The sky is blue, the birds are singing, and it is COLD!

We lost a HUGE limb off the big oak between our house and Mom’s house. The limb is bigger than a lot of trees. I have no idea how we will get the thing pulled down (part of it is caught in lower limbs), but so grateful that neither house was hit.

If I can get up and really at ’em this morning, I would like to go check out Ham Jam in Philly today. The usual crafts and music, plus BBQ :D

  11. blues4you says:

    Good morning.

Wow, scary weather yesterday. Stayed in constant contact w/mrsblues and maw-in-law. I feel we’re fortunate a situation as bad or worse than the yazoo storm didn’t occur.

    Happy Birthday, tank!!!

  12. dhcoop says:

    10:40 am

Truck won’t be ready till 1 so Friend came and got me. Just finished mowing the front yard, and about to tackle a flower bed that needs help.

MrsH, I’ll bet you are counting the minutes now!

  13. Crystalbutterfly says:

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY TANK!!!!!

  14. clucky says:

Remind me again why I bothered to get MARRIED? Things were JUST FINE the way they were. Hummmmph.

Trying to decide between Ham Jam, working in the yard or going to Brandon in support of our fallen soldier.

    I need a life. I need friends. I need a drink.
    GAH.

  15. Ann Onimous says:

Good morning, everybody! Headed off to church to help with Selection Tournament. But first…

    *LAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!* (kaBOOM!)

    Hippo, Birdie, Two Ewe:
    Hippo, Birdie, Two Ewe!
    Hippo, Birdie, Deer, uh… TANK!

(all the animals run and hide cause they think an actual tank is coming their way: but when they sense it’s not an actual tank, they come back)

    Hippo, Birdie, Two Ewe! :D

  16. clucky says:

I’ve been waiting all day to hear AnnO sing :) Always makes me LOL!

  17. dhcoop says:

Me too, Clucky! Well done as always, AnnO!

    It is GORGEOUS out!!

  18. Legal Eagler says:

I just went to yesterday’s FFA to get caught up and laughed at Coop’s “cloud of feet and citronella”!!!!
I left here yesterday at 11:45 during the height of the storm and got in the car with a 70 something year old man and rode to Brandon to a bridge game… I called that morning to see if it had perhaps been cancelled because of the weather, but NO, they said I was the only one to call and ask. Apparently, I’m still young and foolist enough to think of being a little leery about the bad weather. The rest of them frankly don’t give a damn. We got there and back safely so who am I to question?

Clucky, I will remind you if you will remind me.

And why is it still so hard for black men and white men to come to an understanding and why does the color of one’s skin always come up in the discussion?

  19. Legal Eagle says:

Son of Pluck just ate my post and spit it out.

We are ok. I played bridge in the height of the storm yesterday and rode with a 70 something year old man there and back. I was the only one who called to check that we were still playing because of the weather situation but I’m the youngest, so I guess the others are too old to care if they play in Brandon or Oz.

Why can’t black men and white men be friends without bringing up the color of their skin at he slightest disagreement?

  20. Legal Eagle says:

Happy Birthday, tank! I said that in the first post, but after Son of Pluck ate my comment I forgot it the second time. I have learned to copy my comments before I submit them but every time I forget to copy what I just typed, that’s the time Son of Pluck strikes.

  21. Mrs. H says:

    He’s baa-ack!!
And he brought treasure. I posted pictures on FB. He’s asleep now. They left Canta (in the mountains yesterday morning around 9:30. They traveled back to Lima and flew out of there just after midnight. He had been up a while.

The girls and I are going to a Mobile BayBears game this afternoon. It’ll be nice and quiet while we’re gone.

  22. parrotmom says:

pd’s cousin came down. the generator is running. we have tv, fridge, 2 freezers, and a iPhone charging. they are now saying lights should be back on at midnight.
Pushmower is running again thks to the cuz. He helped with the backyard that was knee high then cleaned up my courtyard up. As soon as iPhone is charged a lap top is next.

    happy birthday Tank!!

  23. parrotmom says:

if you google kitchens drive 39056 you will see Hannah dr this is our block. the subdivision east of kitchens had a house lifted by the tornado and turned upside down. they are pretty bad off as I have heard.

  24. dhcoop says:

My truck STILL isn’t ready!!! Urg! !

  25. OldBopper says:

    Happy Birthday Tank!

Glad to know Mr.H made it home safely. I hope it was a wonderful experience.

Just calle me Biker Bob. :~D I passed my motorcycle safety course. Now to get my license. It’s all coming together.

PQ and I are headed to USM tomorrow after church for lunch and to see “Smokey Joe’s Cafe” .

Sounds like everybody made it through the storms without any injuries. So glad for that. The lights will come on again, trees can be cut and most houses can be repaired. We just have to be thankful for the important things.

  26. dhcoop says:

    6:26 p.m.

Just made it back to Gtown. TOTALLY lost the day to the truck, and didn’t get to go to Peanut’s soccer match, but I believe my truck is finally fixed up for a while. Oil thingy was sticking which was causing the oil light to flash. Did a flush, new oil and filter and whatever that thingy was that was sticking. A/C problem ended up being the compressor needed oil and it needed a shot of freon. Anyhoo, I’m back in the saddle again!

Now tonight I plan to enjoy the evening I didn’t get to have last night due to power outage. Hot bath, and some satellite tv.

  27. parrotmom says:

how is everyone enjoying this weather?

our lites flickered on a few times earlier but nothing lasting. still on the generstor.

  28. Legal Eagle says:

Coop, I’m glad you got your filter changed today, be it oil or air, doesn’t make a bit of difference!

  29. Ann Onimous says:

Anybody in/near Clinton: there will be a Community Worship Service tomorrow night at 5:30pm in the Big Lots parking lot. Our church is calling off services so we can be there. If you’re nearby, come join us!

  30. dhcoop says:

    LOL@Leagle!!

PM, the weather was fabulous today!

  31. parrotmom says:

still no lights by the power company, buy they are saying soon. I am so glad for the genertor just wished it was not outside the den’s wall. I think I will here that sound in my sleep tonight once it is turned off when we go to bed.

  32. Barb says:

    Evening, all!!

PM, glad you have the generator up and running!!

Coop, I hope you have been enjoying your night!

  33. parrotmom says:

yea!!! lights :) we were the last 2 us and the family across the street. they pushed the breaker back in place so all os good.

  34. Airwolf says:

Hey folks. I haven’t had a chance to check in today. We took my SIL and BIL over the line to Florence Al and checked out some places. Tomorrow is her birthday! One of the places we visited was The Rosenbaum House. An American architectural treasure, this house was built for newlyweds Stanley and Mildred Rosenbaum of Florence, Alabama, in 1939. The house is the only structure designed by Frank Lloyd Wright in the state of Alabama, and the only such house in the southeast that is open to the public. It was worth a visit.

I’m pooped. Glad all the storm victims are getting things cleaned up.

    Goodnight!

  35. dhcoop says:

Enjoying catching up on RuPaul’s Drag Race. My girl, Raja, is still going strong!

  36. Legal Eagle says:

Frank Lloyd Wright was the bomb! There is a house in Woodland Hills here in Jackson that he designed.

We had an easy supper – spaghetti with Wolf’s chili with beans. And I had parmesan cheese on mine.

PM, I’m glad you got some electricity again. Over here the owners are bad about turning off the water without notice to anyone and sometimes it will be off for several hours while they work on a line. I swear I’m going to be sitting here with hair color running down my neck one day and when I get ready to rinse it, the water will be off. We sure do depend on things we take for granted.

  37. OldBopper says:

G’morning gang! My left wrist is very sore from pulling on a clutch for 8 hours yesterday. Holy smokes I never expected that. I can’t turn that hand palm up. Oh well, this too shall pass.

Hope everybody has a wonderful day! Later.

  38. dhcoop says:

    Mornin!

LOL@OB!! An unexpected turn from becoming Old Biker??

I am going to spend the morning piddling around here in Gtown before I head back to Podunk. My BIL’s brother had the yard mowed yesterday and it is beautiful here. I’m going to enjoy the wildlife and a little more satellite tv. I haven’t heard from Big Sis, but I had a note from a friend in the UAE who is sister to the friend Big Sis is with in Bangkok and, apparently, they are having a blast shopping. Bangkok will never be the same…

  39. dhcoop says:

    oh, it’s 7:10 a.m.

  40. blues4you says:

    Good morning.

Marked off one on my bucket list last night. Went to see Robert Earl Keen in Nacogdoches. It was mighty fine! Nice venue…great show.

  41. Airwolf says:

Off to choir practice and church in a bit. Have a great day. It’s cold on my hill-37!

  42. Barb says:

    8:32

    Good morning!
