Mornin! I’m looking forward to the picnic too!

Sitting on the porch with both of my sisters. Life is good.

  2. Airwolf says:

Morning friends. Beautiful day, hard to grasp so much death and destruction nearby!

  3. parrotmom says:

Good morning at 8:52. Coop so glad you gals left Vicksburg intact and enjoying your time with your family.

AW I agree it is hard to believe.

I need to get busy, but I just want to be lazy.

  4. parrotmom says:

Marshall it would be nice if the gas prices would drop. I love your toon for today.

  5. CornPop says:

A VERY good morning to everyone!

I’ve just got to brag on my hubby…first, he had a beautiful boquet of flowers delivered to me at work yesterday with the note saying, “Something to brighten your day!” And that it did – all bright yellow roses, yellow gerber daisies and lilies that smelled wonderful.

Now, he’s outside mowing the yard! This is so tremendous because he hasn’t been able to do that for over a year due to his cancer and gastroparesis! He’s heading in such a positive direction and I thank God for answering our prayers!

Orville is really looking forward to the pick-a-nick on June 18th. He feels close to each of you and wants to thank each of you for your prayers and good wishes! :-D

Me to me to me to! [Looking forward to the picnic} we are leaving today at 2 p.m with a load of water and diapers and stuff for the folks at Smithville. Gotta fly! Yall have a good day!

  7. msblondie says:

morning gang!! hope everyone has a great day. went to the braves game last night it was good. and they won.

I have to see what is on our schedule for the weekend of the pick-a-nick. I know I wont have M here but not sure what else is going on.

CP that is great about Orville.

    • OldBopper says:

Dang, sorry I missed you at the game. I was ushering in section 108 almost behind home plate. Will be there again tonight if you happen to be in the ball park. Tonight is my last night to work the Braves games. I gave my notice a week ago but offered to help out during the high school playoffs and the Conference USA playoffs. Those are mostly day games and usually they need help for day games. They may or may not call me to work those games…depends on the need.

PQ and I are a sad looking couple. She is still wearing a splint on her right hand and somehow yesterday I think I sprained my right wrist. Started hurting yesterday afternoon and this morning it was swollen enough that I couldn’t see knuckles on my right hand. Reached in my bowling bag and pulled out a wrist support I use when bowling and it is just right. Have about 85% usage with the support on. No pain unless I turn it the wrong way so I figure I haven’t broken anything.

Can’t ride Casper until it gets better. Little fella’s gonna get lonesome. May just go out there and crank him up to make him feel useful.

The Mississippi River flood stage should worry a lot of people who might live below the dam on the Pearl or along the Big Black and Yazoo rivers. When the Father of Waters gets high the flow from the other rivers slow and cause and proportionate rise. I’ve seen the Mississippi in almost record floods twice and it ain’t pretty. If it gets over or through the levees, flooding will be quite fast.

Hope everybody has a good day. It’s beautiful outside.

You gotta remember, ob, there’s OLD in your handle. If my Dad was your neighbor, he’d a been lookin’ over the fence muttering something about guys your age ridin’ a gotdang motorcycle in the first place. I figure you sprained your wrist “doggin'” ole Casper around those country roads .:>)

I agree about the river stages. That could get real interesting for some folks.

It’s drizzlin’ rain in east texas and I’m wanting to go home……bad.

    • Legal Eagle says:

Write the picnic on your calendar and work around it. Don’t let anything else jump in there and keep you from coming.

      • Legal Eagle says:

No, I don’t have the hiccups. This was supposed to go under msblondie’s remarks and when it went here the first time, I went back to msblondie’s comment and clicked reply there and it popped up here again. Gotta love ya, SON OF PLUCK!

  8. dhcoop says:

    Howdy!

I’m sitting at a rest stop just outside Clinton, about to intercept Baby Girl and Bug so I can give her the jewelry we had made in Dubai. It is BEAUTIFUL!! I wanted her to have it for a party she’s got tonight and this was the only way I could give it to her in person since she’s heading to a recital straight from shopping. Then I’m headed on to KO.

  9. parrotmom says:

OB sorry for the sprained wrist and glad you had a wrist band handy to help. Sorry that Casper is feeling lonely today would be a great day for a spin. The weather is awesome.

  10. parrotmom says:

Blues so sorry you are having the homesick Blues man :(

  11. Legal Eagle says:

tank, if you’re going to be at Yogi’s place the weekend of the pick-a-nick, jump on Highway 80 and come down the road just a little way. You need to come visit with us a little while at least. And if JB shows up, we’re gonna need you big time!

AW, can y’all change your reservations in Destin since you have a month and a half? After all, you are retired now and we need to see y’all at the pick-a-nick!

  12. Mrs. H says:

My eldest is officially a Mississippi State alumnus!
She got to walk between her boyfriend and her best friend since 3rd grade.

  13. Legal Eagle says:

And OB, speaking of flooding, that’s one reason I felt we would be safer making a reservation for the picnic at Roosevelt instead of trying Mayes Lake. It’s highly likely that Mayes Lake will experience some flooding since they are on the backwaters of the Pearl River and have a boat ramp right into the Pearl River.

  14. parrotmom says:

Congrats MrsH on your daughters status :)

  15. Legal Eagle says:

    Ditto, MrsH.

And speaking of flooding again, we’re off to see for ourselves and visit local attractions. I feel like Charlie going for the golden ticket!

  16. Clucky says:

I’m alive. In Meridian with Mr Fab. Check in later.

  17. parrotmom says:

Almost through with my wedding from March. I just need to run some video of the bride and groom and capture a few still shots of them to print on the front of their DVD’s. I also have been working on some VHS-C tapes putting to DVD.

  18. parrotmom says:

We bought a 26 inch Sanyo at Cowboy Maloney’s yesterday at the special sale. I managed to get the last one in the box at 5:00 pm. Went to Walmart and bought me the wall mount where I can turn it side to side or tilt up or down. Now I just need the smarts to put it on the wall sometimes finding a STUD can be tricky in more ways than one. LOL!!!! I am waiting till I am finished with the DVD’s because I really don’t know what is plugged into which power saver strips.

  19. dhcoop says:

Just had a Dad grilled Burger. YUM!

Congratulations to the Eldest! I know y’all are proud!

  20. dhcoop says:

PM, finding a stud is never easy! Heh

  21. parrotmom says:

LOL!!! so now we have air filters, popcorn, and STUDS :)

  22. parrotmom says:

nite lite to all :) !!! Prayers to all the Torndo’s victims’.

  23. OldBopper says:

Congratulations Mr and MrsH and their eldest! What a great feeling.

  24. parrotmom says:

Yes Barb, I caught the tell end of the changing of the air filters :)

  25. Legal Eagle says:

There is nothing like finding your own stud muffin. We went over the river and throught the woods to get a Powerball ticket. You can’t win if you don’t have a ticket. We came back over the river with the idea of going to a seafood buffet, but the Ameristar seafood buffet was $30.00 and the Diamond Jacks seafood buffet is $25.00 and we decided that we weren’t paying a ridiculous price for either one. We came back to Jackson and went to Monte’s Steaks and Seafood. We have known Monte and his wife Ellen for years and would rather spend the money locally. I actually had 2 appetizers, the stuffed mushrooms and oysters D’Iberville and we got to see Mr. Monte and Ellen and had some delightful folks at the next table. One was celebrating her birthday and sent us birthday cake for dessert.

  26. msblondie says:

OB i looked for you when we walked Friday night and didnt see you. We are talking about going tomorrow, not sure yet.

I do have the pick a nick on the calender. Will try our best to get there.

Congrats to your daughter mrsH. I know you are proud.

    everyone have a great nigt.

    • OldBopper says:

Sorry I missed you. I was relieved twice last night and you must have come by during one of those times. Last night was my last night to usher for the Braves games. I’m still on the list for the high school playoffs and Conference USA if needed.

  27. dhcoop says:

    Mornin!

Got A’s baby shower today. Should be fun!

  28. OldBopper says:

Happy Sunday morning. Going to 5:30 service today. Didn’t get up early enough for early church.

  29. parrotmom says:

    8:45 am Sunday morning!!
May we all have a Blessed day and remember the folks hit hard with the storm and the loss of their family members and homes. May they know they are Blessed and were left here for a reason.

  30. parrotmom says:

Leagle so glad you had a wonderful evening with friends and good food.

Coop have fun at the baby shower.

  31. parrotmom says:

Marshall you hit the nail on the head again with the MS River drawing. Between the tornados and now possibly some severe flooding we are being hit hard, but we will survive.

  32. Barb says:

    Good morning!

  33. Clucky says:

    Mornin’.

  34. Airwolf says:

    Morning!

  35. msblondie says:

morning gang! no ball game today for me.. I woke with a swollen eye and cheek.. love the allergies.
so back to the couch with a compress on they right side of my face.

  36. parrotmom says:

    So sorry MsB :(

  37. OldBopper says:

PQ and I headed to the ball park in a few minutes. Looks like it will be a nice afternoon for baseball.

  38. blues4you says:

Yep, that’s me over in the corner….arms crossed….rockin’ back and forth…mumbling incoherently…..drooling out one side of my mouth. ‘S ok, I’m good.

  39. Ann Onimous says:

Happy Sunday afternoon, as it is now 12:02pm! I have some work to do this afternoon from my old job, then a party this evening. Should be a fun day!

  40. Legal Eagle says:

Blues, as long as you can still drool, it’s all good!

I haven’t checked Powerball numbers yet. I want to extend the anticipation, like Heinz ketchup.

Y’all please keep Chef Eric in your prayers. We hadn’t heard from him in a couple of weeks and I called last night to leave him a message and he was at home. Seems that the Saturday before he had 4 seizures at work and woke up in the hospital. The doctor said he’d had a mini stroke and he stayed in the hospital 4 days. Of course, they are already calling him from work wanting to know if he’s going to be back at work on Monday.

  41. parrotmom says:

Dang I was doing a tape that was 1:06:08 I ran to Walmart, Big Lots, and El Sombrero and made home 2 minutes before it was to be over. WOW!! AC and fan both running I am perspiring.

  42. parrotmom says:

I need 12 pack of Diet Dr Pepper I wonder if anyone has them on sale. I don’t get a Kroger sales add and then to forget to check on line. Walmart wanted $4.00 + for theirs.

  43. OldBopper says:

We lost the ball game but the weather was perfect for sitting out. Enjoyed it anyway. Came home and Casper and I went to church while PQ came along in her own car. My longest trip thus far…..22 miles each way. Old Hwy 80 to Air Port Road to Hwy 25 to Ridgewood to Old Canton Road. A good mixture of traffic and road conditions. No problems. ;~D Really enjoying this cycling. My sister wants me to go on a ride on the Natchez Trace with them. She and my BIL both have Harley’s. I don’t think she realizes how much less power I have than them. Oh doing the speed limit on the Trace wouldn’t be a problem but it would be like a pony running with full grown mustangs.

  44. dhcoop says:

    Evenin!

It’s been a great weekend! Shower was a big success. She got some great stuff. I made it home safe and am trying to make nice with the kittiekids I’ve neglected lately since I’ve been gone so much.

  45. dhcoop says:

Leagle, I’m sorry to hear that about Chef Eric.

Blues, it sucks you didn’t get to go home, bud!

  46. dhcoop says:

OB, well…just be safe my friend!

  47. msblondie says:

evening. got feeling better and had to go to the Home Depot in clinton.. C’s ac went out in her room after 10+ years so we had to get a new portable one for it. Hubby is now down with a massive headache… Allergies have gone us both today.

Now i am in the process of baking bread for M to take to school tomorrow. It is Teacher Appreciation Week. Time I finish i will have done about 20 loaves. The house will smell good all night.

Well everyone have a great night and I will see yall tomorrow.

  48. Barb says:

    Good evening!

  49. parrotmom says:

nite to all!! MsB sorry for all that went wrong. Coop so all went well! It is 10:21 p.m.
    Love to all :)

  50. cardinallady says:

I hope yall are watchng tv at 1030 and know that uama bin laden is dead

  51. Legal Eagle says:

We went over and spent the afternoon with Chef Eric. He’s planning to go to work tomorrow even though his appointment with a neurosurgeon isn’t until the 9th. He was very subdued and quiet and I know he’s not up to par yet. I just hope he doesn’t let them talk him into coming back until he’s up to it.

I think I’m going to bed now since it’s 1:33 and I have to go with BE in the morning to talk to a (yuck) lawyer (no offense to AW intended) about getting help with his SS disability claim. Oh, will I ever have to suck it up to walk into a conference with a lawyer. Actually, as a certified professional paralegal, I’m qualified to represent him when appearing before the Social Security Administrative Judge, but it kind of reminds me of that old saying that he who represents himself has a fool for a client.

  52. parrotmom says:

Good Monday Morning at 6:14 am.
