Mornin! Getting ready to head to work.
Last Monday of school for Em and El. Boy, are they ready for summer!
Morning All,
Got to work and dove into my checkbook headfirst! WOW! Money sure doesn’t go very far, huh? Hope you all have a wonderfully COOL week!
Good morning! PQ is home! Slept like a log last night.
Yesterday my future SIL and I took Casper and Boule for a nice jaunt. He has a scooter and it was his first time on a motorcycle. I think he is hooked.
Thinking about easing over to V’burg to see the water. I’ve seen the last two big floods and know what it looks like, but really don’t have any pictures. I feel for those people in the flood plain but recognize it was their decision to live there. And for what it is worth, I think the last two floods were both described as “hundred year” events.
Having been reared basically at the banks of the Mississippi in Vicksburg, I have always been aware of normal and potential flood areas. Building in a flood zone is a gamble.
Morning everyone!!
Good morning everyone!! I hope everyone has a great Day!!
AnnO so sorry your weekend was so bad, I hope your week is better :)
OB if the last two floods were considered 100 yrs each just how old are you? LOL!!!
Ha! I stepped right into that one!!
morning gang! hope everyone has a great day!
Lucky me another week another round of poison ivy. Last Monday was able to get a medrol doespak (prednisone) by yesterday my arms looked like a pin coushin with dried up red spots. This morning my right eye is swollen and brand new fresh bumps and the benadryl is offering no relief. I am not at work and cannot get another pak of pills. If I go to my local doctor he has to see me before he would prescribe it.
hey all!!
PM you asked about the barges going under the bridge at Vicksburg they are we saw one yesterday when son and I went over there, but if it gets much higher they are going to have problems
what is up with the temperture outside? the temp outside has dropped 4 degrees since 9:00 am this morning, it is now 10:30 am.
Morning folks. Slept late and dragging around. I have a load of junk to take to the dump. Need to get moving.
We had to turn our heat back on. It’s 10:30 and 53 degrees.
thanks CB.
not sure how my comment wound up here. I have playing on the laptop and it has been very frustrating at the least. I never saw a comment from AW on it. hmmm!!
Morning! Yep it is certainly nippy out there. I built a fire in the fireplace yesterday. It was nice to hear it crackling merrily while I washed dishes.
I wish I was still at home and I spent the whole weekend there by myself. I went to church yesterday morning and ran by mom’s but was right back home. It was a great Saturday. I didn’t do anything but lay around and finish a picture for a sympathy card.
I noticed that on yesterday’s FFA Cardinallady and Barb were sniffling about being out of school 32 and 38 years. Bless your hearts! The 1961 class of Provine High is having its 50th reunion the first weekend in June. Somebody get a kleenex; somebody get some smelling salts. Oh, shoot, somebody get me a Funky Cold Medina CD.
Parrotmom, run a bathtub of water and add a box of baking soda to it and soak that poison ivy away.
thanks for the idea LegalE!!
I was born in ’61.
AAAAAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWKKKKKKKKKKK!
The year I started school!!!
I wasn’t even a twinkle in my mother’s eye yet! I was born in 1964. :)
’69. Just sayin’.
Heh.
Hey! MR says it’s his #1 son’s birthday today. It’s Rexi’s birthday, too! Happy birthday to both of them.
here, here!! I agree Happy Birthday to both of them. We need to get Rexi out to the MRBA pick a nick.
Ditto on both!
Good afternoon one and all.
Wife and fellow teachers are trying to help their students cope with the loss of three of their freshman last Friday.
Unless you need the final exam to help you pass for the year they are exempting all of their students.
That’s a big stress relief for most, I imagine. In years past GCHS has lost 1 student (a few times) but never 3 at once. Prayers for your lovely wife as she helps her students through this.
I agree with MrsH.
That is nice of them to do that for the students.. helps alot. Prayers for your wife and staff at the school as they help the students and fellow teachers deal with this tragedy.
I think this is the first year in a while that THS has not had a student death.
I just found out that our grandmother (Dad’s mom) passed away this morning.
prayers for your family Coop!!!!
coop so sorry – prayers for your family
so sorry. :(
Coop, for folks our age to still have grandmothers with us is amazing. I’m sorry you lost yours. Did she live close to you? Mr. H’s grandmother is in her 90’s and still drives to church every Sunday. She’s fiesty! She also has her 20 year old grandson living with her (when he’s not away at MSU).
MrsH, she was still fiesty until about three years ago when she had a little health problem. She was never the same again. She lived up in the Winona area. She’s in a better place now.
So sorry, Coop. I lost my last grand when I was 17. My dad was her youngest…she was 70 when I was born.
I brought my digital photo frame home from work. I think I have more animal pics than family, but that’s ok. I see my parrot and cats more often.
I’m sorry, Coop. And (((JB))) and (((Mrs. JB))) and all of the students who have lost friends at such a young age.
Son of Pluck has eaten my last 3 comments, so I’m trying again.
everyone have a good evening. M has Girl State Orientation tonight. Hard for me to believe she is finishing her junior year in high school.
Coop sorry about your grandmother. Prayers for your family.
Evenin. Thought provoking night for me.
Thanks for your prayers and thoughts.
Went to the doctor today because of my back and what I thought was just my usual sinus problem. He replaced my one medication for pain with 3 meds and gave me 2 for bronchitis, pharyngitis, and sinusitis!! The pharyngitis has probably added to some of my joint pain, so maybe some of these meds will actually help!! And, oh yeah…2 shots also!!
Prayers for Coop and family. Oh brrrr, it’s mighty cool outside. Didn’t go riding today. Not complaining, but I wish this cool snap would have waited about 6 weeks.
Barb I hope the doctor has helped you out. Coop still prayers for you. I was a lot younger when I lost my Great grandmother on my mother’s side in fact she was 90+ in 1983 when she past.
Thank you all. The next few days are going to be tough. I and my family appreciate your support and prayers.
You know you and your family are in our prayers.
Thanks Marshall. I do know and I appreciate it.
Our Grandmother turned 97 in January. It’s hard to think of her being gone, even though we haven’t been able to communicate with her for a while now.
Coop, continued prayers for you and your family.
*Ah-ah AH CHOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!*
Gesundheit!! And, God Bless!!
Morning friends!
