PD is being released today. Will check back in later. Good Saturday morning :)

  2. Barb says:

    That’s great, PM!!

  3. OldBopper says:

    Good news PM!!

Got up too early this morning. My sense of time is way off.

  4. blues4you says:

    Good morning folks.

Forced retirement should end around wednesday or so. Don’t know if I’ll be able to attend the pic-nic just yet.

OB, if you ride up my way this weekend, please give me a call when you get to the store. I would love to see your bike.

Glad y’all are back home PM. Hope things continue to improve.

Blues, would that be the store at the corner that has a Baskin-Robbins? Didja get the boat going yet?

Checking in…I didn’t fall off the face of the earth, just crazy busy and the next couple of weeks look to be more of the same. Up at 515ish, working non-stop til 6ish, coming home, cooking supper and falling in the bed and asleep before my head hits the pillow. Lather, rinse, repeat.

Good news? Granny is home..hopefully we are DONE with Memorial for a while! Why in the world would a hospital discharge an elderly frail lady that is also extremely weak from the hospital after 8pm? Lord knows, Pop can barely see to drive at night, much less have the strength to get her in and out of a wheelchair at that time of night. They should be ashamed…let them stay the night, and send them home the next morning. Sheesh.

Mr. Fab has had a hella week…the meds he got last weekend for his back apparently caused a BAD reaction and his ankles and lower legs looked like tree trunks with water blisters and weeping fluid. He’s on antibiotics, praying he hasn’t gotten a secondary staph infection and having to change dressing three times a day. He looks better, and his fever broke (finally) yesterday afternoon. He had another MRI yesterday afternoon as well, so we can find out why his right leg decided to go numb, I’m sure it has NOTHING to do with all the mess we did in the yard a couple of weeks ago with the chainsaw, shovel, etc….::sarcasm::

I get to see Dr. Fred this evening in Flowood. How awesome is it that a neuro will schedule an appt for a Saturday evening? I LOVE IT. Not sure what else she has up her sleeve, but we ruled out the really bad stuff-No MS, No malignancies, only thing out of whack was my folate, and I have been on a supplement since I was discharged from St. D.

Chicklette taught a VBS class this week-the 4 yr olds! She did a great job :) Their commencement was last night. Next weekend she will be in Gulf Shores on a Bible Drill Team trip, and the following week will be in Pensacola for the week! Lucky stinker! She is growing up TOO FAST! Needless to say, I think she will be gone for the pickanick this year.

Word to the wise-I WILL be bringing a big-honking fan and extension cord, a cooler of Mt. Dew and Gatorade, and still deciding what edible deliciousness to make :) I’m craving tater salad…anyone else called dibs yet? One of Mr. Fab’s growers gave us a whole 5 gal bucket of new potatoes, and all I can think of is potato salad and crawfish boil! LOL

OK, now to go back and read and catch up with the week on the MRBA. Curious to see what is up with PD… I do know Blues went to the concert I had been having a fit to attend, but alas, it would have just been wrong with a sick husband and the fact I had a 7am meeting an hour away the next morning :( for me to join him. I bet he did have a good time!

  6. blues4you says:

Clucky, no water transportation at the present time. Boat’s still in the shop.

Concert was a bit of a bust. He only got to play about 9 or so well received tunes. suffering from food poisoning so badly, he finaly had to give up. Chatted with some of the bandmates and they said they would probably be back soon.

    God Almighty it’s hot outside!!!

  7. Legal Eagle says:

PM, I’m so glad PD is getting to go home today and will not have to have surgery.

We have to be at the country club for a group picture at 6:30 p.m. and get in the buffet line at 7:00 and I think I’m going to stay inside until then figuring out what the heck I’m going to wear. I wore my latest Run From the Sun t-shirt last night and if they think I’m going to appear in a dress and heels, they would be wrong.

Clucky, potato salad sounds great to me and so does the fan. I hope Mr. Fab feels a lot better by then and you too.

The best looking guy in our class has lived in New York since graduation and I always figured he went there to model. He’s back this time for the first reunion since then and boy has he changed.

  8. clucky says:

OOOOOH, PLUCK JUST ATE A LOOOOOOOOOOOONG POST. GRRRRRRRRRRRR.
PM, glad he is okay and coming home today! I used to be a charge nurse on the tele floor there for 2 years on nights. Drove back and forth for night shift 7 outta 14 days for two years. The second time I woke up starting at a pine tree coming at me at 70 mph, I decided it was time to work closer to home.

Molly, I really hope you are meeting Paula at EMAR. She is AWESOME! She is where we found our little Murphy the white poodle, and I know she had some dachsunds a little while ago. She does wonderful work, and someday, somehow, I will find a way to help her organization! Tell her my baby is doing well! I am so very sorry to hear about Roller Dog. I talked to someone not too long ago who had the same kind of setup for their pup for the same reason, but it wasn’t a dachsund. I told them about your little fella. (((hugs)))

We lost 3 kittens yesterday. Not sure what happened, but the entire litter of 4 had not been well since birth. One had to be euthanized immediately due to birth defects, but we thought the other three were fine. However, the circle of life being what it is, that queen’s sister had 4 kittens of her own last night. Lord have mercy.

My boy is sitting here playing me some Marshall Tucker Band on Chicklette’s pink 3/4 size guitar. Heh. At least he sounds good; so proud he is learning the good stuff…now on to Pink Floyd. That’s my boy :) Now if we could get him a paying job…

  9. Mrs. H says:

Greetings. My 2 cup humming bird feeder is about to fall apart. I purchased 4 (2.3 oz. each) to replace it. Now, they’re everywhere. I think this will work better, since they won’t share the 4 port feeder anyway.

The Eldest’s diploma just arrived in the mail! She’s out shopping with her best buddy since 3rd grade.

  10. dhcoop says:

Goodness!! I think I need to re-read todays posts to get all of the news!! I’m back in Gtown. Talked to Big Sis and she’s on her way here for a couple of days respite from gramma duties.

    Clucky, tater salad sounds awesome!

  11. dhcoop says:

Oh, and the lack of AC in this weather is really tough. Seriously…awful…

  12. tank says:

pm, I am SOOOOO glad pd got to come home. I know y’all will be more comfortable. I’m glad you can take care of him. I’m not a “nursey” person at all. I hope hubby doesn’t have a lot of stuff like that to deal w/after his surgery. after his last surgery he came home with a feeding tube and a big ol’ incision that had to have bandages changed. thank goodness his sister would come do that. I’d either faint or vomit. just talking about the stuff makes my legs hurt. I TRULY appreciate people that can be doctors and nurses cause I just wasn’t cut out to do it. that goes for teachers too.

Yes, the temps are up there but I’m not complaining after I almost froze this past winter. I’m just dreading our water and electric bill. I’ve actually got the air set on 78 right now since it’s just me and hubby here and we’ve been laying around watching tv since lunch. I do remember sweating bullets at last year’s picnic. hope y’all are cooler this year. after being at yogi for that previous week I doubt if I drive back for the picnic. If I do I’ll come by myself so I can visit and not have to chase after the redheads…even though I love to show them off. it never fails when we go somewhere that someone is going to ask “are they twins?” and then comment about the hair. I love to hear that!

clucky, I’ll be glad when all of your crew gets straightened out! hope this doctor can give you some answers.

hey blues! I’ve had “going down to Laurel, it’s a dirty stinking town” by Steve Forbert on my mind since you mentioned you were headed that way. remember that one? I’ve got relatives over that way.

we have a big vbs kick off tomorrow afternoon. the girls are excited. they always have morning classes so I never get to help.

oh, by the way, have y’all watched any college softball? the coach from baylor is from amite county.

I see MR will be in my real home town later this month. high school home of Erick Dampier, Kendrick Hardy, and I’ll throw in Matthew Wells too. Hoping to see matthew have a break out year this year even if he is playing for them dawgs. I’m sure hardy will have another good one. I think Dampier needs to follow shaq and retire after the playoffs.

man, have I rambled or what? it’s just really quiet and boring here when the girls are gone. y’all stay cool.

  13. pncpnthr says:

Afternoon…Everyone’s a bit chatty today..But all is well or getting that way it would seem.
Took a drive up the highway for a summer haircut. I can’t mention the town, jb would have a fit if he knew where I went. But I got out of there as soon as the haircut was over…didn’t want any maroon & white on my car, not to mention the Ole Miss tag might have gotten me in trouble.
Have a good afternoon & try to stay cool. Hubby called at 8:30 this morning & said his boots felt like they had water in them. Don’t think they were going to work all day..One of the other crew had to be carried out on Thursday. They need a break in the form of RAIN!!!

  14. tank says:

greenville is as far in north ms as I’ve been except for traveling through to memphis. one day I want to take a road trip and go to corinth, tupelo, oxford and such. I want to go to doe’s eat place and ground zero. one day. one cool autumn day.

  15. Molly says:

Well….it’s TWINS! We are now the proud parents of two baby boys, 10 weeks old, named Nicky and Connor. (Kiddo picked the names.) They are mostly dachshund and SO SWEET! They checked out the house for a little and then climbed in the crate and passed out. They’ve been asleep for 2 1/2 hours. One woke up and came over to me for some lovin, and then went back to the crate.
I did meet Paula, Clucky. I had been emailing and talking to her the last couple of days. She did all the paperwork. She REALLY wanted to keep these puppies for herself, but her hubby said the NINE dogs they have are enough. I can understand that!

PM, glad PD is going home. Take care of him.

    Everybody…TRY to stay cool!

  16. Clucky says:

Appt went well!!! No news….nothing significant. Sending me for cognitive testing with another neuro. Weird, huh?

  17. parrotmom says:

Well folks false hope and without a laptop and could never get to Saturdays FFA. PD did not come home. They are saying he has something called ICU Psychosis. when I posted my message at the beginning I came home for about an hour. When I returned he had removed his neck brace, stripped out the IV and taken off the finger oxygen thingy and laying on his side I was scared you know how. the nurse was just as scared. I have been called everything in the book. He has tried to crawl out of the bed I called for help and 6 men surrounded the bed. He has seen his mom, dad who are deceased in the room. They took him down for another CT to see if a blood clot or TIA(mini stroke) that was fine. He has two small emboli in his right lung that they are not too worried about but gave him a shot of some type blood thinner in the abdomen, I don’t recall the name. His children has witnessed some, his daughter is with him know so I could come home she text her brother and so far has only been called the “B” word because he wanted the 2nd IV removed and he was going to do it. Lord help me trough tonight my patience and weariness are both growing thin.

    • Airwolf says:

It’s the medicine, same thing happened to Daddy and FIL when they were hospitalized.

      • parrotmom says:

Thanks Aw, but it is all the same meds and formula that he gets at home other than we use generic and they are using brand name, maybe that’s the difference. So none of it makes sense to me.

  18. parrotmom says:

I don’t have time to read everything. Molly congrats on the twins and CLucky I think I saw Mr Fab’s mom is doing ok Chiclette did something really good at VBS. Coop, do you think the crows was waiting for the watermelon to ferment for some watermelon wine? Maybe I can check back in from my phone later at the hospital.

Oh the also have done a doppler on PD’s legs and that was fine.

  19. parrotmom says:

Hope to check back later. Love and hugs to all of you!!!!

  20. tank says:

pm, hubby did the same thing with his last surgery but he had a reaction to meds. and of course, after I had spent eight straight days/nights at the hospital without coming home, this happened the first night I was gone. they had to get security to get him back in his room. he pulled out all his tubes and unplugged his iv from the wall and was going down the hall w/the iv machine and his behind shining in the hospital gown. he was seeing monsters coming out of the air vents and thought the drip they were giving him was mt. dew! we can laugh about it now. I do hope they get pd under control and straightened out.

  21. Barb says:

PM, so sorry about the setback. Prayers for you both.

  22. OldBopper says:

PM saddened to hear the bad news. Hope he can get better soon.

PQ and a bunch of ladies from all around the state are headed to North Carolina for an Episcopal Churchwomen meeting. They’re leaving out at 6 am in a van and two cars and picking up the last person in Meridian on the way.

Molly glad to hear about y’all’s new adoptees. Hope they do well. Life should be interesting around your house.
