paul revere did warn the british. he told them to knock it off. this was before the famous ride. i do believe sarah palin was not quite informed though. she is just a woman from alaska trying to make a difference. what about our president making bad mistake on etiquette with the queen few days ago. where was the liberal press? enjoy your cartoons. would wish you luck on new job but u are doing great on your talent alone.

    • Marshall Ramsey says:

Thank you for your reply and for your kind words. Life is good. . I like Sarah Palin, but wish she’d stick to TV commentary and Facebook. Anyone who has to have fans decipher and spin what she said for her to make sense probably shouldn’t be making life and death decisions about our country’s future.

As for our President, I’m not a big fan of him either and I think a distraction like Palin will keep a serious candidate from beating him. And no, I don’t think she is a serious candidate.

  2. Katie says:

Um, the only way he really warned the British was by warning the colonialists who were actually all British at the time. Pretty sure that’s not what Palin meant though. How is the question, “So what have you seen today?” a “gotcha” question???? (Same could be applied to “So what papers do you read?”)

And I actually learned about the President’s flub from the great Satan that is known as MSNBC. The President did not go on tv and say he was the one following proper etiquette and everyone else was acting lIke a jackass after he did that. Only Sarah Palin would do something as awesomely stupid as that.

  3. Musing Lew says:

I heard the hit job you flung out Monday Marshall. I’m disappointed. For the first time since you’ve taken over the 3P slot you have given me the “blues” on a day other than Friday.
Your position, if pursued to its natural conclusion, will result in another “squish” Republican candidate like we had in McCain. This gave us Obamessiah, sir. Or would you attribute the sad campaign of McCain to Palin as well? Who was it that led a conservative charge into the House of Representatives in 2010? Was it one of your “serious” candidates? I think you are a Mitt guy. Plugging for a fellow who drafted the blueprints for Obamacare? I refuse to root on a team that plays for the other side half the time….
Please, sir, read up just a little and stop the Palin jabbing:

As far as your take on Governor Palin demonstrating any rational forethought, as you said on your program “I ain’t buying it”! You have bitten the lamestream media meme hook, line, and sinker Mr. Ramsey…

    Lew

    • Marshall Ramsey says:

I guess I should say, “congratulations.” It takes a special person to believe in Sarah Palin. I don’t. She lost me after she QUIT her job as Governor of Alaska to pursue the spotlight.

America does need leadership — Right now more than ever. She’s not it.

Thanks for writing. And listening to the show.

      • Musing Lew says:

        Mr Ramsey,
Did you take the few moments needed to click the link I gave addressing your “QUIT” litany? After McCain’s run Palin was hit with 19 ethics violation complaints within six months. Her family was 500 thousand dollars deep in legal fees defending this. The state of Alaska was spending millions in processing paperwork etc. Resigning her position was the only defense against the ploy being used to bankrupt her family and sap Alaska of taxpayer dollars.
Your view is simplistic and not well researched Marshall. So imply my view to be “special” if you like. The thing most unneeded by America right now is another left of center Republican that panders to the left. It needs someone like Palin who is unafraid to call a shovel a shovel.
Perhaps it is impossible to persuade you to do the research which may change your viewpoint. Too bad, because we agree on so many things. I just think one needs to do their own research rather than being persuaded by the alphabet soup outfits who we all know pitch for the wrong team.

        • Marshall Ramsey says:

I don’t do research. My views are simplistic. Sure you don’t have me confused with Ms. Palin?

          Thanks for my nightly chuckle.

  4. Musing Lew says:

Snark much Ramsey? My regard for you drops the more you act like a liberal. I am trying to give information and debate with facts but it appears your ego is too frail to deal with that forthrightly. Been nice chatting with you though….

    • Marshall Ramsey says:

You sure do make a lot of assumptions for someone who lectures people about “doing research.” And don’t worry about my ego. It’s not even dented.

      Thanks for writing.

  5. Musing Lew says:

And what assumptions am I guilty of that you’d like to point out exactly? Do you reference the fact that I assert your position is lacking any real research? What other assumption could be made when you regurgitate the same, exact garbage printed by the liberal media even when links to the actual substance of governor Palin’s resignation are provided to you. Its illogical to state, “she QUIT her job as Governor of Alaska to pursue the spotlight. “, she already had the spotlight. And, she could easily have pursued all but her Fox gig while doing the job as governor. Which, by the way, the leftist press has just inadvertently proven she was doing wonderfully with their dive into some 24.000 of her emails while governor. You never argue against the facts I give. Instead, you resort to personal attack each time you are disagreed with.
Are you speaking of my inquiring about your use of snark? What else is one compelled to think when in answer to serious discussion you reply “thanks for my nightly chuckle” and refer to me as a “special person”. Regardless of what you may think you are not more intelligent then all the rest of us dumb rednecks hoss.
As far as your ego goes…I never was worried about it. I was just pointing out what seemed to be blatantly obvious by the way you were replying. Just in case you may find interest, I’m assuming you won’t, but who knows, :
A good article by Rick Richman on this very debate

The length of the press’ need to try to destroy Palin:
    http://michellemalkin.com/2011/06/10/operation-get-sarah/

I’ll tell you this in a heartbeat Mr Ramsey. I’ll support a candidate that espouses good, old American virtues and ideas any day over the rest of the field that promote republican squishiness….any day. No matter how you and others in the press try to portray them (dishonestly I might add) as stupid.
    Good day sir…

    • Marshall Ramsey says:

Let’s see. You assumed I didn’t read your links. You assume I don’t do research. You assume I’m a liberal. And you assume Sarah Palin is an intellectual giant.

I don’t engage anonymous posters who throw out labels, insults and assumptions. I’ve made an exemption for you because I’m being polite.

      Thanks for writing.

  6. Musing Lew says:

Hmmm….let’s address your points one at a time:

    1) “You assumed I didn’t read your links.”
This would be a natural assumption as I even asked if you had read the links and you never affirmed.

    2) “You assume I don’t do research.”
Again, this would be another natural assumption since you aren’t backing up your assertion about why Sarah QUIT (to pursue the spotlight) with any facts. You are merely repeating what I’ve read in the NYT and WashPost over and over. Reading newspapers isn’t actual research.

    3) “You assume I’m a liberal.”
Nope, never made that assumption. I feel quite aware of your take on things. Unless, that is, you are merely playing a part on your radio program daily. I clearly said “I think you are a Mitt guy.” and “Too bad, because we agree on so many things.”. I would not have made those statements had I assumed you to be a liberal. You are basing your assumption of what I thought on this statement: “My regard for you drops the more you act like a liberal.” You do know there’s a huge difference between being a liberal and acting like one?

    4) “And you assume Sarah Palin is an intellectual giant.”
Nope, I never made that assumption either. I’ve said she has old fashioned American morals and ideas. And she does. Rather, I have spent most of this conversation trying to convince you merely that the woman isn’t a dunce. You are the one making an invalid assumption in this case. No one can run a state as well as she had and be a dunce. She left a huge surplus to Alaska when she resigned, got a contract for a natural gas pipeline put through that many said couldn’t be done, and many other things. But these don’t jive with your “she’s stoopid” agenda you’re trying to push. So, you merely ignore the facts and try to use transference to make it seem I was trying to tout her as an Einstein or something.

And as far as my “anonymous poster” status. If you’d like my name….fine. It’s Lew Wallace and I live in Corinth,Ms. I don’t hide behind anonymity where my convictions are concerned, sir.

Lastly, I have not thrown out labels, insults, and assumptions. I have tried to engage you in conversation about why I feel your view is wrong. For some reason you seem to take this personally. I have engaged you in a manner to include reference links and arguments to back my assertion. Each time you’ve answered you’ve seemed more testy. If you choose not to “engage” any further I’ll simply take it as a sign that you felt your viewpoint wasn’t worth defending.

    Good day Mr Ramsey

    • Marshall Ramsey says:

Here’s the thing. I don’t WANT to defend my position to you. I could. If we were in a coffee shop or a bar, I would cherish it. But you’re an anonymous heckler. You write volumes when a few words will do and make assumptions about me that aren’t true. You call me a “liberal” and insinuate I’m stupid because I don’t do “research.” Why would I want to talk to you? So yes, this is the end of the conversation. I’m glad you think Sarah Palin is wonderful. I don’t think she has what it takes to be President. That’s the end of the conversation.

  7. Musing Lew says:

*Sigh* I’m an “anonymous heckler”, yet I gave you my name and where I lived. Its okay Marshall, I understand, scurry away from the debate before you have an actual epiphany. Lew 1, Ramsey 0

    Lew

    • Marshall Ramsey says:

      Whatever Lew.

And as long as Sarah Palin manages to garble the English language, I think I’m safe from any epiphanies.
