Morning. Hubby will be home tomorrow, thankfully. I’m about tired of “dog duty”. They are accustomed to getting up with him in the morning at 4. I prefer 5ish.

Everyone have a good day! Daydream of snowflakes & icicles! :)

Oh, and a friend of mine gave me a brain itch I’d like to share with coop:

    Propel, propel, propel your craft.
    Placidly down the liquid solution.
    Ecstatically, ecstatically, ecstatically, ecstatically,
    Existence is but an illusion.

  3. Barb says:

    Gee, thanks, PM!
    Morning!!!

  4. Molly says:

Mornin. I’m not sure that one will stick with me, Pnc.
I’m up watching the puppy races, alternating with puppy wrestling. They ran off toward the bedrooms and got quiet a few minutes ago. That’s never a good sign. I went to check on them and they had found a full-length mirror and were admiring themselves. Such vain pups!
They like to climb, so I pulled out the step from step aerobics and they have fun knocking each other off of it. At least somebody is using that step!

  5. OldBopper says:

Mawnin’ y’all. Headed out for an oil change and tire rotation, then on to V’burg to return some items I purchased last week. PQ will be home tomorrow evening!

  6. Mrs. H says:

Mr. H sent an e-mail to his office that he was working from home today: his wife needed help with an air compressor and a pneumatic egg cannon! Do you think they’ll believe it or will we have to send pictures?!! (actually, we substituting small water balloons for the eggs…….)

  7. Airwolf says:

Morning folks! Bear is hanging out with me today!

  8. msblondie says:

morning gang! hope everyone has a great day!

  9. dhcoop says:

    Mornin!

Thanks a LOT lil sis! Molly, think of “row, row, row your boat”

Yes, I was running late this morning, then got caught in traffic, and then…

Molly, sounds like the twins are having a blast! I’m glad you got them both.

I want to play with a pneumatic egg cannon!

I’ve been invited to play with the Tuesday bridge group, so I’m trying to drink enough coffee to get dressed to go.

Here’s a little more invigorating something something thought to leave you with while I’m AFK:

Send “In the Big Rock Candy Mountains” Ringtone to Your Cell

One evening as the sun went down
And the jungle fires were burning,
Down the track came a hobo hiking,
And he said, “Boys, I’m not turning
I’m headed for a land that’s far away
    Besides the crystal fountains
So come with me, we’ll go and see
    The Big Rock Candy Mountains

In the Big Rock Candy Mountains,
    There’s a land that’s fair and bright,
Where the handouts grow on bushes
And you sleep out every night.
Where the boxcars all are empty
And the sun shines every day
And the birds and the bees
    And the cigarette trees
    The lemonade springs
    Where the bluebird sings
In the Big Rock Candy Mountains.

In the Big Rock Candy Mountains
All the cops have wooden legs
And the bulldogs all have rubber teeth
And the hens lay soft-boiled eggs
The farmers’ trees are full of fruit
And the barns are full of hay
    Oh I’m bound to go
    Where there ain’t no snow
    Where the rain don’t fall
    The winds don’t blow
In the Big Rock Candy Mountains.

In the Big Rock Candy Mountains
    You never change your socks
And the little streams of alcohol
    Come trickling down the rocks
The brakemen have to tip their hats
And the railway bulls are blind
    There’s a lake of stew
    And of whiskey too
You can paddle all around it
    In a big canoe
In the Big Rock Candy Mountains

In the Big Rock Candy Mountains,
The jails are made of tin.
And you can walk right out again,
As soon as you are in.
    There ain’t no short-handled shovels,
    No axes, saws nor picks,
    I’m bound to stay
    Where you sleep all day,
    Where they hung the jerk
    That invented work
In the Big Rock Candy Mountains.
    ….
I’ll see you all this coming fall
In the Big Rock Candy Mountains

Forget the reference to ringtones. That was operator error!

  12. The Real JB says:

LE…you should have your blogging right revoked for that.

    PnC…Go State!

  13. parrotmom says:

Hello and happy lunch time to you all :)

I don’t know exactly when but will be sending to PD to Select Specialty or vice versa on Ridgewood Rd for 4-6 wks. His heart rate is spiking max so far as been 160 on two different occasions, even when the rate is low is still above 110. His blood pressure is fine in the mornings but even in the evenings after 2nd pill still is not coming down. He just has so many issues and is so very week he will need this time to get better. About the time I get used to the schedule of work and vists and my Parrot I should still get a lot more rest than I have had in what will soon be a week.

Love, hugs, and prayers to all that are in need. Thanks for your prayers and the funny things I can read on here to keep me happy.

  14. OldBopper says:

PM, prayers for you and PD.

Home again and considering a ride. Guess I ought to clean up my painting mess before I go. Pick up my drop cloths (newspaper) and move the furniture back into place. Everything associated with the actual wet paint was cleaned up yesterday.

  15. dhcoop says:

Lenny’s philly chicken cheese steak YUMMERS!

  16. Molly says:

PM, I’ve heard good things about Select Specialty so I hope he will do well there. And I hope you can get some rest. I know you are worn out.

  17. tank says:

    it’s raining!!! it’s raining!!!

  18. dhcoop says:

There’s something wet falling from the sky!!!

  19. msblondie says:

we have thunder and dark clouds in west jackson… just went out and rolled up my windows.. hope didnt scare it away.

  20. dhcoop says:

    POURING here! YAHOO!!

  21. cardinallady says:

Whew! Paper is AT LAST to bed, and now I have to get ready for the city aldermen board meeting. Going to grrrrrr!!!! Gotta go. Lord, PLEASE don’t let me kill anyone right now. Be back in a minute.

  22. cardinallady says:

Okay, nobody is dead. What’s this I’m reading about RAIN? :( I want some of it too. Of course y’all have gone longer without rain than I have so I’ll share. I have been catching all my dishwater to water my garden. The corn is grateful. I’m thinking about dipping my bath water too. There is just no use wasting that water down the drain when the crops need it.

Ahem, I am NOT going to work the day before the picnic. Already told my boss I wanted that day off, she said to put it into writing. So I will. I worked the day before last year and was WAY later than I meant to be getting south. Jon and I will probably drive down Thursday afternoon and camp out at Roosevelt.

  23. Molly says:

Came a quick sprinkle here. Lasted just long enough for me to roll my windows up. Still cloudy though and I’m hearing some thunder off in the distance.

  24. cardinallady says:

Alright I’ve got to get home and hug CardinalSon. Invest 94 is forming down south, I vote for the red track. At least we will get some more rain out of it maybe, because as usual it should jog a little more to the east before landfall. I don’t want a gigantic hurricane, just a good rain soaker.

  25. pncpnthr says:

I’m home, no rain, but I’ve got the sprinkler going. And, our air is not cooling. Wonderful.

  26. OldBopper says:

Whoopie!! Rain!!! We got about .4 inches so far and it’s still sprinkling. I swear the grass has already turned green.

  27. parrotmom says:

Rain at the hospital and rain at home, I guess that is good. Thanks for all the well wishes, so far all is on track his kids know what is being planned. I think PD is going to hate me since he has splet most of the day. He may have sat in a chair if strecthing it 5 minutes. He did have to stand for about 2 minutes with the aid of a walker. Then into the bed back to sleep.

I hope everyone receives some rain soon :)

  28. dhcoop says:

    Evenin!

I’m in Gtown and it looks like we got a nice rain here. Not sure how much, but the grass looks a lot greener.

  29. parrotmom says:

I was ticked off when I left the hosital that I was driving before I realized I did not have my glasses. I can see it is just reading and farsighted in one eye. So I should be fine getting back. Coop I have no clue if my grass looked green or not :)

  30. dhcoop says:

Still raining a slow rain here.

Tried to watch “The Voice”, but lost interest when they did a lame cover of Queen songs. Don’t be messin with Queen if you can’t nail it. Just sayin…

  31. dhcoop says:

Ended up with a nice little rain that helped out on the crunchy grass syndrome we were having here. Hope others had a little rain as well.

Going to get ready to get some sleep now. Hope all is well with everyone.

    Good night!

  32. Barb says:

Enjoyed the rain. We got quite a bit.

Prayers for all and rest for the wicked!! j/k

    Nite all.
