Good morning everyone. Safe travels to anyone today and hugs and love to all!!!

I had a scare when I turned off Hwy 80 onto the street to get to mine. There in the middle was a little kitty with the same markings as Itty Bitty although it had white paws. My mind raced frantically trying to remember if Itty had white paws. Lucky it was a cat with a tail but unfortunately this one lost his life. I saw him/she the other day a few streets up. I guess it was coming to my house to clean out the food and water bowl since it has been empty the last few days.

Good news. PD is coming home some time next week :) Now I probably will need more strength (mentally/physically) than ever!!

  2. Mrs. H says:

    going home

    It’s been a great week!

Hang in there PM. Some things take time, but time works. Covering you guys in prayer.

  3. dhcoop says:

    Mornin

    Safe travels, Marshall.

    It’s Friday. I’m tired. yay

PM, glad PD is coming home. Hate to hear that about the poor kitty.

  4. Airwolf says:

    Morning folks, headed home today!

  5. parrotmom says:

Oh by the way I have the cleanest Mediterrian Geico around. Apparently he loves the shower. He finally made it to the top edge of the tub this morning. I hope he is not thinking this is an awesome big sliding board :)

  6. OldBopper says:

Mawnin’. Headed north in about an hour to hand off the Grands. It’s been a fun but exhausting week.

The lack of political signs in the Delta probably indicates the loss of population, the poor voting percentage, and thus lack of clout in the area. Tis a shame. The Delta refuses or cannot change and is dying a slow death as a result. I find it a very depressing place.

  7. Crystalbutterfly says:

    hey all!!!!!!!
    IT IS FRIDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  8. msblondie says:

morning gang! hope all have a great day!

    Those traveling be safe.

  9. The Real JB says:

    sup

  10. cardinallady says:

morning. Flying through. A cook page, special section and two funerals are on tap for today. If I don’t get back, it’s because I’m busy. the upside to funerals is you get to see cousins you haven’t seen in a couple of years, well since the last funeral on that side of the family … oh wait … it was just last year we buried her daddy … seems a lot longer.

  11. Barb says:

    Morning!! It’s my Monday!

  12. parrotmom says:

Barb, I hope you have had plentu of rest and ready to tackle your Monday.

CLady the last few family funerals have felt like reunions. People I haven’t seen in ages or decades.

    • Barb says:

Thanks, PM. You need to rest up as much as possible for when you get PD home. Since I worked Wednesday I am off Tuesday, so I will actually have 3 days off in a row because our week starts on Wed. YAY!!!!! I did rest alot, but my lower back has seized up on me a bit. It is nothing I can’t deal with. Can’t call out because we are so short handed and I am now senior beauty advisor!! Raise included!!!

  13. The Real JB says:

Pastors who spent time in the Delta would always tell me that they felt as if they moved and were ministering in a foreign land…it was so different.

I know when I moved to the coast that it was a totally different experience for me as a pastor.

  14. The Real JB says:

Did yall know that in Tylertown it is illegal to shave in the middle of the street.

  15. Molly says:

Mornin. I’m tired, too. Kiddo has to be at church before 7 tomorrow am to go on a youth trip to Alabama Adventure, so there will be no sleeping in for me. Not that the puppies would let me sleep, anyway. They think 5 am is a great time to start the day. I’ll be glad when they realize the joy of being lazy!

  16. Molly says:

I am SO ready for Kiddo to have her driver’s license and a car! Now, to find money for that car payment…

  17. parrotmom says:

Barb congrats on the new title and raise.

    Molly I feel your pain.

PD called and said he was kicked out of PT that for exercise he could roam the walls by himself. No one has contacted me yet maybe they are waiting for me to show up at lunch.

  18. The Real JB says:

It is also against the law for a drugstore to sell poisen to children. go figure.

In Jackson, it is against the law to have wire cutters in the glove box of your vehicle but you can have them in the back due to cattle rustlers

  19. The Real JB says:

In Mississippi it is also a law that Private citizens can personally arrest anyone that disturbs a church service. I wonder if snoring fits this law?

  20. tank says:

the $2 tank sale is tomorrow at old navy. or if you are a fan on fb you can get a coupon to get that price today. I’m planning on getting some for my redheads for cheer practice. they are flyers since they are so tiny. I can’t wait for competition to start.

  21. msblondie says:

JB you just full of interesting things today.

Molly: I understand about the car payment. We promised M a car for her birthday that was Tuesday. She is wanting the little Ford Feista – hatch back in green. If a dealer has one, it is sold.

Lunch – Sonic. I will feel it later.

  22. tank says:

    peter falk died. :(

  23. OldBopper says:

We had a nice quiet ride back after dropping off the boys. Stopped for an adult lunch (AKA not McDonalds) and now at home. Got to pickup and put away toys and get back to normal. The cats are relieved as the boys thought it great fun to play chase.

  24. GrammarGirl says:

Heading out for another weekend of softball (which, by the way, is why I was absent from the picnic–our schedule changed and we played this past weekend after all). Hope daughter and her teammates bring home the first place trophy! Hope everyone has a nice weekend.

  25. msblondie says:

about to wrap thing up for today. Have to do some work over the weekend but it is ok. – as long as we keep showing as good of show numbers.

Head to the Braves game tonight and tomorrow OB – section 103 Row A (i believe we are actually closer to 102 side)

Everyone have a good evening and weekend.. PM hope PD keeps improving.

  26. Mrs. H says:

Made it home and got stuff in the washing machine, made tea, and promptly fell asleep on the couch. I was up until 2 this morning doing hair wraps on girls in my room. I could have made a mint, but I DID NOT charge them the $2/inch that the souvenir shop charges. :) Several years ago, I invested in a bag of embroidery thread that stays in my duffle bag. It’s become a tradition that I do a wrap for them on trips. It is definitely a way to connect with girls on trips AND save them some money at the same time.

Now to post some pictures for the kids on FB.

  27. parrotmom says:

I will check in a little later. Off to sing to the parrot and head “north!!! (to Alaska)” the song just clicked into my brain.

  28. OldBopper says:

I think we will be at the game Saturday night so I’ll look for you.

I bought some (5) LED lanterns for power outage usage. Gave one to my inlaws, one to my mom, one to my youngest daughter and have kept two for us. They are great and will last 56 hours on 4 D batteries. I paid $49.95 for the first one. Then found them on the internet for $29.72. They are great sources of light. If interested, here is a link:

  29. dhcoop says:

    Evenin!

Eating a fresh cucumber from our garden! Picked squash and cucumbers today. Okra is coming on strong. Going to the tomato festival tomorrow to pick up some maters to put up. I’ll be on the lookout for Crystal.

  30. parrotmom says:

    hello!

  31. parrotmom says:

hope you all have fun at the tomato festival. Once PD is home I will start buying me some maters for lunch/supper.

  32. Barb says:

Thanks for the congrats, PM and Tank!! As for JB, nothing will help one of those mangy Dawgs, right, Tank?

  33. msblondie says:

good game tonite though we lost it in the ninth. fireworks were good as well. have to see how they do tomorrow. now home.

  34. OldBopper says:

6:30 am Watched the college baseball game last night. A great game!

Mawnin’ y’all. Happy Saturday!! About to head out for a long ride on Boule. Will check back in this afternoon.

  35. pncpnthr says:

Morning. Bittersweet day. Have to say “Bye” to big sis & BIL. Don’t want to….

  36. Clucky says:

Mornin’. One unspoken prayer request answered! PTL! Please keep praying for my other friend-she is loved more than she knows, and thinks Denial is a river in Egypt.

I’ve been awake since 630. Laundry is done, girl is at her Daddy’s this weekend and I have 200 crickets. The king is still asleep. Grrr. I did find us some mud boots so we can tromp around on the boggy sides of the ponds now :) Shorts + muck boots = shmexy!

Laundry is done, dishes washed and I wanna go FISHING!!! OB, we’ve had over 2″ in the last 3 days. My grass says,”Thanks!” Our part of the state may get more storms this afternoon. OB, how are Ruth and the new man getting along?

I have an appt in Suite A at UMC Pavilion Monday afternoon. A little nervous, but this is just the “meet the doc” consult. Testing will be scheduled later.

  37. Airwolf says:

Morning friends. We got back about 4 pm. Drove into a hail and wind storm. I’ve got tree limbs and twigs everywhere. Have to use the chainsaw on some of them. My rain gauge says we got 4 inches of rain while we were gone.

OB I’m going to take a look at a Can-am Spyder 3 wheeler.

  38. Mrs. H says:

AW, we have a friend who wants a Can-am, too.

  39. Mrs. H says:

I didn’t mean to post that yet. I slept VERY well last night. The girls are getting ready to go to choir practice at 9. They leave on choir tour tomorrow. We’ll be washing clothes all day!!!

  40. Barb says:

    Morning!

  41. Barb says:

I need your help, please. I need your prayers. I have to go to work and am in so much pain with my lower back that I just don’t see how I am going to make it. I am sitting here in tears as I write this. Of course I feel like a big baby, a very biiiiggggg baby, but I will not make it through this work day without His help. Thank you all. If I did not have you all to talk to, sometimes I don’t know what I would do!

  42. dhcoop says:

    Mornin!

Got up at 5:30, went back to sleep and slept till 9:30! Unbelievable!

Barb, you will always have our prayers and you need to know it. I’m sorry you are in so much pain. Hope it gets better today.

Big Sis and BIL are with lil sis and the rest of the family today. I’ve been priviledged to see her a lot more than the rest of my family while she was here since I live so close. It’s been great to have her here for a while.

I’m headed to the Tomato Festival!

  43. OldBopper says:

Prayers for Barb and Clucky’s friend.

AW, go for it! I’m jealous. Just finished a 120 mile ride: Brandon to Clinton, Southwesterly on the Trace to Hwy 27, turn around and go Northeasterly on the Trace to Hwy 43, then west to Hwy 25, South to Hwy 471 and on into Brandon.

The Trace is such a good place to ride. No traffic at all going south, no traffic going north until I passed downtown Clinton. Once I got to the Reservior, I had one car pass me and no others behind me. An easy, easy ride. Saw more bikers, joggers, and walkers than I did cars.

Need to cut grass today. Going to the baseball game this evening.

  44. OldBopper says:

Oh Clucky, the cats have finally bonded. When Ruth gets tired of Rider’s antics, she just swats him a time or two. But they sleep together, eat together and play well.

  45. msblondie says:

morning gang! slept till 930 this morning.. havent done that in a while. Up now and even have checked on the Show and processed the orders from yesterday.

Now gotta get ready to go grocery shopping since didn’t last night.

OB I will send an email to you with my cell.
    Everyone have a great day!

  46. parrotmom says:

11:09 am Saturday, I have been home about an hour. Drove up to my yard being cut the neighbor next door was doing his and found out he did mine. How sweet.

Prayers for Clucky, her Friends, and for Barb. Back pain is not good when you have to stand for a living. All have a happy Saturday, heading into work for a couple of hours really don’t have to or need to but since my coming week is iffy and end of the month and end of a quarter I need to be slick as owl grease.

    See you all later.

  47. Mrs. H says:

PM, your neighbor was being a blessing! The world would be such a nicer place if we all did that.

  48. Legal Eagle says:

BE was going fishing at dawn but his back was hurting so bad he hasn’t left yet. He’s still messing with the boat.

We had a birthday party for the City of Pearl last night at Pearl Park with hamburgers on the grill and birthday cake and a gospel group called Wildwood Flower picking and grinning. It was a lot of fun until rain started falling and everyone left. Of course, the rain stopped about the time we got home (a block away).

  49. parrotmom says:

hello. so sorry our sisters are missing the eldest and their bil, as well as they are missing you both as well as missing Poppy. Coop how was the tomato festival?

  50. parrotmom says:

LegalE I hoped you managed some food and desert before the rains came!
yes, MrsH that was very kind of him and I was able to thank him as we both leaving home about the same time.

  51. Barb says:

The on duty manager told the off duty second in command about me being in so much pain and he sent me home. I think the back is a little better… maybe. Thank you for the prayers.

  52. parrotmom says:

Barb glad that you didn’t have to pull the whole shift. I hope you are much better tomorrow.

After I made it home PD called and said the doctor came back in and said his blood was to thick that they were going to have to start giving him shots in the stomach again and continue to work on getting the coumadin regulated. Well the other doctor this week never mentioned anything about the blood and never adjusted the meds so it makes you wonder who is doing or not doing there job? PD was fit to be tied and upset that they may not let him come home this coming week after all.

  53. Legal Eagle says:

Barb, I’m glad you didn’t have to work a full shift, but are you seeing a doctor about your back? I slipped and fell a few years ago and flipped in the air and landed on my back on a plastic box. My doctor sent me to a neurosurgeon who put me in a brace for 3 weeks and told me if the pain got unbearable to come back to see him. My husband goes to the VA and he gets pain medication for his and it’s not strong enough to always help. I know how miserable you must be and just wondered if you were seeing someone about it.

  54. parrotmom says:

duplicate comment even if it was over 12 hrs ago, really!!!

  55. parrotmom says:

I talked with my oldest brother tonight. We have talked before nd knew his wife was having trouble with swelling in her legs and Baker’s cyst at the knees. now she is in the hospital due to ttouble breathing and low oxygen level and now on oxygen. please keep them in your prayers he just started a new job at the first of the year so he doesn’t have any time built up to take off at this point. thanks.

  56. parrotmom says:

nite lite is on. I hope everyone has a goog evening and prayers to all in need..
