Morning. Back from my second bike ride, this time on the mountain bike. I know it takes more effort to move with the bigger tires but I sure feel safer on it. The road bike is a bigger frame so it’s just too tall for me. I’m really hoping I can increase the distance next time out.

    PS: It’s already hot outside!

    Mornin again!

Just talked to T and gave him a Ghost update. He said they got the pics I sent to J by text message last night. I still wish I had taken a pic of the toilet paper roll I had to dig out of the litter box.

That is too funny Coop. I loved your morning comment on Saturday’s FFA about CAT’s!!!! Coming from a cat lady but I know you don’t have to get up and down for yours.

Good morning to everyone. We had an uneventful night for first night home. I thought I had bypassed a door to let the kittie girls in and set the alarm off. Needless to say that scared the cats, the parrot, PD, and myself. At least I had it turned off in no time.

  4. Barb says:

    Morning!

  5. Barb says:

PM, I’m sure you and PD are finally glad to be home. Glad first night went well.

  6. dhcoop says:

LOL@PM! What a way to start the day!!

I’m sitting here watching Ghost watching the house finch coming to the bird feeder.

  7. parrotmom says:

I need to do some yard/courtyard stuff, definitely need to use the water hose to clean out the fountain so it can run properly again. I just don’t want to face the heat yet.

Mawnin’ y’all. Went to early church and then to Denny’s for breakfast. Home now. We just finished re-covering the fourth dining room chair. Two more to go. Each chair has about 250 staples to remove before recovering. Should finish today.

  9. OldBopper says:

Glad to know PD and PM had a good night at home. Maybe your lives can get more normal now.

  10. dhcoop says:

WHOAA!! Eating leftover sushi for an early lunch. Got a little too much wasabi on a bite, but it cleared my head!!

  11. parrotmom says:

our parrot had his shower and is looking beautiful. I have a couple of errands to run shortly. will just tahe my time today.

  12. CornPop says:

Had my folks and all of the kids (daughter, SIL, SugarPop, Little Pop [9 y/o grandson], two steps that we love so much [7 y/o granddaughter & 11 y/o grandson]) over yesterday afternoon for steaks, twice-baked-potatoes, green beans & marble cake with cream cheese icing for supper! Sure was great, but Orville and I are tired and sore today. We had a blast wrestling with all the grands, but feeling our age today.

Barb, we have tickets to see Chris Angel (aka Mind-Freak) with Cirque-De-Sole at Luxor one night and then going to Tournament of the Kings at Excalubir (sp?) another night – dinner midieval style with jousting & knights competing for the flag that we sit under. Should be fun & definitely something different. Rest of the time is ours to do whatever we feel like.

Clucky, prayers for you and Mr. Fab in this difficult time with his momma! Orville is close to having to make a similar decision about his momma, as well. :-(

PM, I hope PD continues to improve and that your lives get back to ‘normal’ (whatever that means)!

Love & hugs to all! Catch you on the flip-side…

CP: The midevil theater is so much fun. We did it in Atlanta.. Our knight won that night.. you will have a lot of fun there.

  13. msblondie says:

been lazy today.. just taking it easy on the foot. it was nice to get up without it being the size of a softball.. but still very very sore. I have the boot off right now cause it gets soo hot..

PM glad you had uneventful night maybe things will be better with time. I find it funny you tripped your alarm this morning.. hubby did the same thing with ours letting moo out. C got in to get off before i could, we still got a call though.

well everyone have a good rest of day.

Marshall: God morning (well, God evening now) to you too! What a reminder to keep God first, no matter what time of day it is!

I’m watching Mississippi Burning for the first time. I’ve never let myself watch it before, on purpose. Because I knew it would make me angry, and it is making me angry. It’s embarrassing. Wouldn’t be watching if I hadn’t met the brother of one of the three kids that was murdered in Neshoba County in 1964 the other day. He was here for the naming of the new building in honor of his brother and the two others murdered, as well as the FBI agent sent here to investigate. He was an awesome man and holds no hatred towards Mississippians, even though certain Mississippians killed his brother. I know the movie is “loosely based” on the facts, but it’s still embarrassing. It’s embarrassing that our ancestors were involved with this type of activity. But, in fact, they were. Ignorant. Totally and completely ignorant.

    • parrotmom says:

I agree Coop, I have only watched snip its of the movie. I care not to watch it all this was not my time of my life.

    • Barb says:

Coop, I’ve never watched it, for the same reasons you stated. It makes me angry to remember that all this happened as I was growing up in Jackson. I was only nine in ’64 but I remember. I remember seeing crosses that had been burned on the lawn of WJTV because they had hired the first person of color as an on air personality. Disgusting behavior!!!

      • dhcoop says:

Barb, I was 5 and remember nothing from that era. Of course, my sisters can tell you I remember almost nothing from my early years…. I wish I could…

  16. parrotmom says:

CornPop I hope you and Orville have a great time and I too wonder what is normal anymore? I guess being at home is normal as it can be for now.

MsB glad the ankle is not as swollen just take it easy best you can.

  17. Clucky says:

Day sucked, but church was great. Watching a movie.

One of my cats brought up a litter this evening…4 black male kittens, probably 3 weeks old. Cute as a button.

  18. dhcoop says:

Pouring rain here in Madison County. Ghost is at the door. He is NOT a happy kittiekid!

  19. Barb says:

Coop, replied to your earlier post.

CornPop, I am even more jealous now!!! Hope you and Orville have a wonderful time!!

  20. parrotmom says:

we just had the lightening show in Clinton and some loud thunder. High today was 101 per ch 16’s weather.

Nite lite is on and may everyone have a terrific Monday, July 4th and that is for those who have to work also.

I take it Ghost does not like bad weather?

  21. OldBopper says:

10:38 pm and it’s raining in Brandon. We need every drop we can get.

Wonder how MrsH did tonight. I think she was singing a solo at church.

If the weather holds, I’m planning to head out in the morning and drive a lot of the trace on Boulee. If it doesn’t hold, I’m just gonna stay home and sulk.

PQ is planning to sew most of the day and I am no help in that category.

  22. OldBopper says:

7:12 JULY 4. PM is it raining in your area?

Happy Fourth to all! Wishing the best for CornPop and Orville! Have lots of fun!!
