Happy Friday, y’all! Found out yesterday that the pain I’ve had for a week is TMJ. Dentist told me I have to find a way to “remove” the stress from my life. Anyone out there know how to do that? Have a great weekend everyone! I’m planning a stress-free weekend. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA

    • Barb says:

Good luck with that!! No, seriously…stress can really play havoc with our systems. I speak from experience. It is really hard to let go of the things that give you stress, but sometimes you have to think of yourself first.

    • Molly says:

You could always get divorced! :)

  2. Mrs. H says:

When I got to work at 7:30 yesterday morning, I was hopping until a quarter to 3. At that point, I realized that I hadn’t eaten lunch! I need to go catch up from yesterday.

My eldest is headed to Starkvegas for the weekend. Last year all her buddies spent the 4th together up there. This year, they all had to be at work on the 5th (hello real world!), so they decided to get together this weekend. Em is headed to Camp Garaywa Sunday to be a C.I.T. for the week, and El is going to a leadership camp at MC on Monday. Both of my reds will be in Clinton, just at different venues!

Mark is at Camp Waukaway for the next 2 weeks putting on a camp that will, by the end, have had over 850 folks attend. That man is amazing!!

  3. Mrs. H says:

Coop, a pingback is when someone published a link to something else. WordPress does it automatically, I think.

  4. Marshall Ramsey says:

The driving in me wore me out. I guess it is because I drove 1,250 miles two weeks ago and then 800 last weekend when I went to ATL and back. And this weekend I’m driving to Birmingham in back in one day. UGH.

  5. OldBopper says:

Mawnin’ y’all. Get to cut grass today then I may wash one car. But, if I get too hot, I may just shower after cutting the grass and ride a while. Sure am glad the weekend is arriving so I can relax. :~)

  6. parrotmom says:

The home health person is here now. All seems to be well.

  7. msblondie says:

morning gang! hope everyoe has a great day! So glad it is Friday.. for this to be a short week it has been long.

    MR becareful on the road.

No for me to get busy.

  8. dhcoop says:

Planning to watch the last Space Shuttle launch on the big screen in the conference room. I hope it gets to go!

  9. msblondie says:

coop or any one if you do groupon – today’s deal is Lenny’s there on N. State St.

  10. dhcoop says:

Thanks, Blondie. a co-worker is bringing me a philly chicken cheesesteak!

    The shuttle launch was awesome.

  11. Airwolf says:

Morning! I’ve been repainting a primitive bench for Rambette. It came a brief shower and now my paint doesn’t want to dry!

I hope everyone has a great day.

  12. Crystalbutterfly says:

    hey all!!
this has been the longest week we have went though some changes to our system and I can say that it was not without bugs—big bugs and problems—I guess in a place this large and with this many employees that is to be expected.

BRING ON THE WEEK-END!!!!! I am locking the doors and hiding my keys so I can not go anywhere but church Sunday. Hope that everyone has a great week-end!!!

  13. OldBopper says:

Boss, when I was driving a lot, I would pretend I had George Washington in the seat beside me and I had to explain all the things he had never seen. That’ll keep you talking to yourself for a while!

“Oh that’s concrete. No asphalt and concrete are different……That’s an electrical power line. We use electricity for……. Sorry I scared you, but in today’s world 70 mph on the highway is an average speed…..”

  14. Mrs. H says:

Coop, a CIT is a counselor-in-training. They have to be 16 and aren’t in charge of a cabin. The CITs get there on Sunday before camp. They all live together in the CIT cabin and help out with whatever activity they are assigned to.

sitting in ER with PD. His lab levels for his coumadin levels continued to increase after stopping meds was at 9.3 and his regular doctor was not on call so was told to come here to be checked out. His urine was a dark rust color yesterday. Everything is probably ok but best to be safe till we get more used to this stuff.

Hello! I’ve been AWOL or AFK the last couple of days. We went to see “The King’s Speech” at the Pearl Library this afternoon and afterwards, since we never had breakfast, we stopped and got 2 double bacon Rally cheeseburgers and a $1.00 order of fries and 2 apple pies for $1.00. The King’s Speech was a great movie and I see why it won so many academy awards now.

MrsH, is Camp Waukaway at Lake Waukaway? My first ex-husband was from Waynesboro and we used to go swimming in the ice cold spring fed waters of Lake Waukaway.

  17. Mrs. H says:

That’s it, Leagle, and global warming has not touched that spring-fed lake. It’s my favorite place to go to camp and since I don’t have “children” anymore (mine are “youth”) I don’t get to go. Maybe one day I can be on the M4 Staff! I’m a close friend of the director/Chief of Staff……. I wonder if he needs a mad scientist for anything.

    • dhcoop says:

Waukaway?? Am I missing something? I never saw Waukaway mentioned. MrsH’s original post said Garaywa. Peanut is going to be at Garaywa in Clinton. So I don’t guess she’ll get to meet Em. :(

  18. dhcoop says:

    Evenin!

I need to read posts more carefully before responding…

PM, I hate to hear y’all are back in the ER. Maybe you can check in later and give us an update. I sure hope they get PD straightened out soon.

  19. dhcoop says:

Just caught a chimney swift that had gotten into the house and was tired from its efforts to get back into the chimney. I took it outside and held it in my hand and told it that it was okay. Stroked its back and its wings. Then I held it in my outstretched hand and watched it fly off into the night. It was a beautiful thing.

  20. parrotmom says:

We were let loose about 7:00 this evening had to stop by the drug store appears not only is blood level bad, he had another UTI. They decided to give him a shot of K (I think a vitamin I haven’t looked it up yet). It is supposed to get the blood back to normal faster anything over 3.0 is not good and when the INR is at 8.6 then 9.3 then back to 6.? they wanted to control the clotting factor faster. He will start back on the coumadin on Monday. Thanks for asking Coop.

That camp that M4 is being held at sounds wonderful MrsH. I hope everyone has fun at their camps and other outings this week.

  21. dhcoop says:

PM, I sure hope they can get him fixed up soon.

It’s been a long day. I woke up at about 3 this morning and never really went back to sleep afterwards, just dozed off and on, so I’m going to bed soon. Big plans this weekend involve working on my truck and my house, and, basically, my life.

Marshall is doing it. He’s hitched up his britches and done it, why can’t I? I need to get off my flat butt and get busy!

    Thanks, Boss!

    Good Night y’all!

  22. parrotmom says:

Coop good luck with your plans tomorrow. I will probably be going in to work to play catch up after 12:00 noon. I am ready for my life to slow down, but don’t see that happening as long as PD is on the Coumadin.

Nite all, I missed my nap this evening and am very tired also.

    Nite lite is on!!!

  23. Barb says:

Good night and God bless you all.

  24. Legal Eagle says:

    11:40 p.m.

Well, I drifted off to sleep for a few hours and woke up about 10:00, so I’m good to go for a while. I’m down to the end of “World Without End” and I hope to finish it tonight. Ending a great book is like losing a friend.

Coop, let me know how all that works out. Maybe I can work on mine.

    ((((((((PM and PD)))))))

MrsH, I take it Lake Waukaway isn’t open to the public like it used to me.

  25. dhcoop says:

    Happy Saturday morning!

I just ate some figs straight off the tree. They are just about perfect. Expect to pick a gallon or two tomorrow.

  26. Mrs. H says:

I wish we had some fig trees. Maybe this spring we’ll set one out. I think Mr. H’s mom still has one. We’ll be going down there tomorrow after church……..

Leagle, Waukaway is run by a board and has a resident family on the facilities. They do an excellent job of hosting camps, retreats, etc. I’m not sure if there are any public dates on their schedule. They provide lots of outdoor activities: archery, paint blow-guns, and lots of water/mud games. Mark provides the spiritual content, and I think some craft opportunities. The large group worship times are just incredible. His hope is that he teaches kids (and their parents) what worship REALLY is. It’s not about sitting in a large auditorium with your hands folded in your lap being quiet. It’s about true interaction with a Holy God Who wants to hear from us. I’m always reminded of Kind David at camp events!

  27. Barb says:

    Morning!!

  28. parrotmom says:

Morning to everyone. Barb thanks for the info about “K” and thanks to everyone for the hugs.

I remember my dad going to the fig tree and eating them right off the tree while the birds ate too!!!! I am sure I did the same as a younin since I was my daddy’s girl.

MrsH, I want to go to M4 camp next year, how do you get to go when your slightly over 50?

  29. dhcoop says:

MrsH, I sent you an email about Peanut.

I brought a couple of half loaves of stale bread and a package of tortillas we had at the office down to Gtown with me. I couldn’t bring myself to throw them in the trash when I knew I could have a “crow show” down in Gtown. I am not disappointed. I tore up the bread and tortillas into chunks into a bag, then went out and spread about half of it around the pecan tree out back. I’m now getting the show. They are so funny! The way they stack up as much as they can carry before they fly off with it. I’ll put the other half bag out tomorrow. By then, word will have spread within the crow community that the crazy woman in the fuzzy duck slippers is throwing bread all over the yard. heh Maybe that will distract them from the figs…

  30. parrotmom says:

I was going to say you best keep the crows busy if you expect to have figs tomorrow :)

  31. dhcoop says:

They really are funny! They seem to prefer the bread over the tortillas. And wheat over white. They will strut around, looking at the various pieces and choose which ones they want. They will stack them up, then take the whole pile at once.

Ok, so it doesn’t take much to amuse me…

  32. msblondie says:

morning gang! being really lazy today.

    everyone have a great day.

  33. pncpnthr says:

I’m cleaning out my closet & have discovered I should not buy clothes for quite some time. Found a purse hidden on the top shelf that I haven’t used in a while. BUT, one can NEVER have too many purses…

  34. parrotmom says:

    Laughing at PNC.

Coop nothing wrong with being entertained by nature. I grew up watching Mutual of Omaha’s “Wild Kingdom” and still like to watch show’s about different species of animals. I could care less about the reality shows of people and wild animals to me that is not teaching anyone to be nothing but an “idiot”!!!!

  35. parrotmom says:

MsB, how many miles has M put on her car so far? I know she has to be loving it!!!

  36. parrotmom says:

Off to work to play catch up.

  37. OldBopper says:

Mawnin’. Hmmmm, it’s less than an hour from being afternoon. Got up and got out while the weather was cool and took a good ride. Got rained on a bit in the Clinton area. Not a real bother but makes one need to clean the bike afterwards. Waiting on the pipes to cool so I can clean some more.

PM, if you didn’t, you need to ask PD’s doctor about Pradaxa….a civil blood thinner. It sure would be easier on both of you. It’s a fairly new drug on the market and I didn’t know if my insurance would cover it, but they do.

There are so many things that affect you when you take Coumadin. If you eat too much leafy greens, pig out on grapefruit, or indulge in cranberry juice your coagulation numbers will go haywire.
