6:03 am here
PM, mornings are probably better because PD is fresher then. Praying the freshness lasts longer and longer.
and Happy Mardi Gras to you!!
Morning everyone!!! Thanks MrsH for that thought.
Mornin!
Morning again! Workout is over (and survived.) Now sitting alone in the C-L.
Happy Mardi Gras or Fat Tuesday, whichever suits you! I ate the last scoop of ice cream in the house on Sunday evening. Will be giving up ice cream for Lent so I’m going to pig out today.
Headed to the Capitol in a few. All the general bills and constitutional amendments have been introduced and the committees are meeting to wade through the mess.
Good morning Boss.
morning gang!
Sitting at eye specialist office. The paper work said it could take up to 2 hrs. Oh joy!
Took me 45 minutes to get to the Capitol. I-20 was a parking lot so I got off and took Hwy 80 in. I can attest that the red lights on all the stoplights along the highway and State Street are operative.
LOL!! I found out that to a few weeks back.
Morning folks. Assessment meeting is Thursday not today. Nothing on tap until this afternoon. Plan on getting of the treadmill for awhile!
Mmorning!! Flying through. Got the paper smoothed out and ready for bed, just not tucked in yet.
I came in this morning with a hand full of Mardi Gras beads and made every body happy wit their own strand!
I just wish I’d bourght a feather Mardi-Gras mask from the dollar store a month back. Be back. Glad everybody is doig well today. I do admire all you people who get on the tradmill and walk and run. Marshall exhausts me.
May your day be filled with gold doubloons and beads! I have nothing planned to do today. Yea, me!
Since Christmas, I have read the following books:
1. Kill Alex Cross – James Patterson
2. Just After Sunset – Stephen King
3. The Night Circus – Erin Morgenstern
4. Ricochet – Sandra Brown
5. Smash Cut – Sandra Brown
6. Smoke Screen – Sandra Brown
7. 11/22/63 – Stephen King
8. The Game, a Mary Russell novel – Laurie R. King
9. 13 1/2 – Nevada Barr
10. Spider Bones – Kathy Reichs
11. Obsessed – Ted Dekker
12. Touchstone – Laurie R. King
13. Bare Bones – Kathy Reichs
14. Cross Bones – Kathy Reichs
(re: #11) Ted Dekker writes some creepy stuff! I read “Boneman’s Daughters” not too long ago.
(re: #13 & 14) Carolyn Haines (originally from Lucedale) has a “Bones” series, too. It’s about a woman named Sarah Booth Delaney and Jitty, the ghost of her great-great grandmother’s nanny. All set in Zinnia, Mississippi.
Have read #1; own #s 4, 5, & 6; just ordered 2 Nevada Barr’s but do not know 13 1/2; don’t care for Stephen King and am not familiar with the other 3 authors. I am reading “A Devil is Waiting” by Jack Higgins. I love his Sean Dillon books.
Kathy Reichs is a forensic anthropologist, as is her main character, Temperance Brennan. Reichs is the producer of the TV show “Bones” and a really talented author besides being a professor as well as working in her field along with only 76 othr forensic anthropologists ever certified.
It sure is gorgeous out!
Just give me the Mardi-Gras blog killer queen crown today.
Clucky,
I’m looking for a hotel in Philadelphia, MS. Last time, we stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn Choctaw, which was right by the casino, but it doesn’t pop up when I search for HGIs. Has it changed hands and names?
I Googled hotels by the casino and HGI is there.
http://www.google.com/hotelfinder/#search;l=Philadelphia,+Mississippi;d=2012-03-04;n=1;h=3994253907430421441
Yes, but if you try to book it, there is no booking information, and it is not listed on the Hilton Garden Inn’s home site.
Oh, I am sorry. The phone number was no good?
The name has changed. Will ask Mr Fab tomorrow-he is sound asleep. He drives by there many times a week.
I’m sorry I didn’t check in last night. Dancing Rabbit Inn.

Woo Hoo! Beautiful outside. I took Casper for a 35 mile ride this afternoon. That little rascal is some kind of fun to ride. It’s like going from a full sized car to a Miata. Haven’t put it on the market yet, but I figure with gas prices soaring and summer on the way, I won’t have any trouble selling a machine that gets 70 mpg and will do 65 all day long. It’ll do more but it’s kind of like the old VW Beetles, down hill with a tail wind helps a bit. 75 is as fast as I have had it but not for long.
Ballpark, what would a bike like that cost? I’m getting an itch.
Can’t wait to get off work and go see what’s happening in New Roads on Mardis Gras.
Go eat some topless oysters for me, Blues!
Flying through again. Ya know last week I mentioned my editorial cartoon? Well this first grader’s work is in the newspaper and on our web site. College professor Ramsey is an inspiration. Any how, if you want to peek at it it is at pontotoc360.com and click on opinions on the left side of the page.
We missed The Walking Dead the other night so we could see the last Star Trek movie. We saw it at the movie, but that’s been a while back. We had to go to demand tonight to catch up on The Walking Dead. And surprise, more zombies (walkers)!
We had tacos for supper for the first time in a while and they sure were good. BE had cooked some pinto beans a couple of days ago and they fit right in.
We have decided to try “The River.” hopefully can find the earlier episodes on abc.com or hulu.
Was saddened to realize tonight I will miss our Ash Wednesday service due to a late appt in Meridian :(
Checking in. Working on Chicklette’s room as fast as I can (a snail’s pace) so she can move back in. She’s tired of sleeping on a 150 yr old sofa, and I want my play room back!
Just went back on caught up on the last few FFA’s. CP, hugs and prayers.
On a lighter note, I strongly suggest either Eucerin, or Neutrogena NOrwegian Formula hand creme. Anything with silicone in it will hold in moisture and keep your skin from cracking. If you are having SERIOUS problems, we have a secret formula creme that a local pharmacist mixed up years ago that is simply known as Super Dooper Diaper Goo. Our pharmacists compound it in the store. Have your pharmacist call Fred’s Pharmacy at 601-774-8283 to get the recipe. Amazing stuff. Good for more than just hands, as you can tell by the name, but we always keep a jar around.
