Good Morning to you too Marshall. I hope you and Banjo had a better night last night.
I hope everyone has a wonderful Hump Day.

  2. Mrs. H says:

    Today, we are rocket scientists!

PM, I did snicker when you mentioned air filters yesterday, but yes, there are real air filters in our homes and autos that do need changing. :)

Morning! PQ comes home from North Carolina today. Watched the Diamond Jubilee program last evening. Really good in my opinion. Non-Episcopalians might not care, but I saw the Arch Bishop of Canterbury standing in the audience several times as the cameras panned the area.

We’ve got absolutely stunning weather outside. Ultra low humidity makes the temperature feel much lower than it really is.

I watched the festivities too. I was surprised to how how the older artist looked. Was in total surprise as to how Tom Jones looks now. Of course Elton and Paul were definitely older just didn’t sound as good as they used to, but outside venues the sound is not always as good.

OK, need to vent a little bit here. I realize that women’s sports will likely never garner as much attention as men’s sports, but the Women’s College World Series (softball) has been on the past two nights and I have yet to see one single news article about it. And I did say WORLD SERIES! The end of the season, the games for all the marbles. During the SEC baseball tournament, every game was broadcast on AM radio. And that was just a division’s tournament, not the whole enchilada. The Crimson Tide ladies of Alabama are playing the Sooners of Oklahoma, which is interesting in and of itself because there is no PAC-12 team in the series. California and Arizona State were defeated in the final four. The Southeast is slowly catching up to the West Coast in the softball world, and Alabama is doing us all proud. There are NO California girls on Alabama’s team. The coach purposefully recruits locally, and his strategy is paying off. The series is tied at one game each, so tonight determines it. If you want to see college softball at its best, tune in at 7 tonight.

    Rant over–Good Morning, all!

GG I’m afraid Jon Lee will be as bad as you in a couple of years. He has discovered women’s softball at college. He is going this weekend to help my cousin with a tournament.

Rice Krispie treat for lunch again. I would lOve to go home now, not as spry as I was.

  10. Mrs. H says:

Coop, we launched balloon rockets. We used balloons for the propulsion, some sort of string for trajectory and straws as guidance to keep us on path. I gave them a choice of mono-filament (fishing line), wool yarn, or kite string. They also had several choices of balloon shapes: long thin ones, big fat round ones, little water balloons. They could choose how many straws and the location to attach the balloon to the straws. Most importantly they had to work as a team and that the most important part of the demonstration was the people, not the equipment. The teamwork was THE most important thing. They all had to work together: holding each end of the string, hold the air in the balloon until time to let go, making decisions.

R.I.P. Ray Bradbury. One of science fictions blazing stars.

  12. Mrs. H says:

today’s rockets were powered by a physical reaction. Tomorrow’s rocket will have a chemical reaction. Oooooo…….

  13. Clucky says:

My brother used to read a lot of Ray Bardbury’s books.

Sorry, not being rude intentionally. A “not good week.”
Marshall, thank you for remembering our WW2 heroes.

I’ll try to check in later.

I got gas today for $1.99 per gallon at Kroger in Brandon. The lowest any of their competitors had theirs priced was Wal-Mart at $3.12.

  17. dhcoop says:

    Evenin!

Leagle, I paid $3.11 for gas today and felt like I had gotten a bargain. That’s sad…

  18. parrotmom says:

watching CMT country music awards. fun, fun!

  19. parrotmom says:

nite lite is on. nitey nite!

  20. Old Bopper says:

    PQ is home!!!!

Leagle, how did you get the price to 1.99. They were listed at 3.12 and I thought you could only get a $1 off using points. Of course you get multiple points for purchasing a Kroger gift card.

AW, glad you are enjoying yourself. I’m still jealous.
