Good mornng Marshall, Hope you enjoy your trip and have safe travels.
Morning to everyone, hope you have a grand Thursday. Appears for me the wheels are falling off the wagon. Seems that greed is taking over a certain child and is mad because the lawyer or the courts office is being too slow. I want, I want. I was even threatened as to what he and his sister can do legally if my lawyer continues to appear to do nothing!! In my experience the paper work may be in but there is still processing by the court that has to be done first.
I must be crazy I am excited that our marker could be in today and could be in place in the next couple of days. Greed and self centered my husband was not. Maybe a little selfish at times, but I think we all have that tendency?
BE had an aunt who was like his second mother and he actually lived with her and her family when his own mother was injured in an automobile accident and had to stay in the hospital for quite a while. His aunt had a store and worked many hours a day every day while raising 7 children. She and I shared the same birthday and I loved her too. She passed away last year and her children didn’t bother calling BE. I saw it in the paper and we showed up in south Mississippi for the funeral. Her kids began sputtering when we walked in, asking how we knew about it, etc. They didn’t even invite us to share the meal that had been prepared for the family afterwards even though they talked about it within earshot of us at the cemetary. To be such a fine hard-working, honest, Christian woman like his aunt was, she had the most rotten children I’ve ever seen. The best one of the bunch died about 10 years ago and the rest can carry on their big Christian lives without ever being bothered by the sight of us again.
people are cruel!
Good morning, PM (and everyone else). Mr. H took the truck since the weather is looking very yucky for the rest of the day. It’s really odd to see him head to work in shorts and sandals rather than covered in an armor plated riding suit.
Be safe Boss.
Our water leak alarm went off about 4 am this morning. It’s the first time since all the rain started so I assume the underground stream is about at full. The water came in for about 30 minutes and then quit. If we get any serious rain today, I imagine we will experience the full flow of the leak.
I haven’t been by, but I expect Boule is sitting out in the rain at Got Gear. Hate that. I’ve always kept him under roof or under cover. Looking forward to getting my bike back.
PM, wishing you the best in all your business affairs. It’s a shame that death brings out the greed in people.
Mornin!
I was in a pretty heavy rain all the way into town, but when I got about to the Jtown city limits, it slowed to a drizzle. Big Sis said it rained ALL day in Gtown yesterday. Grass has gone from crunchy to soggy.
Safe travels, Marshall!
PM, hang in there, dear. I’m sorry you are having to deal with that.
Let’s all try to have a great day!
Morning. I had planned to spend the day with Mom doing crochet stuff but my head cold decided to come on strong last night. I’m taking stronger meds today, staying in & have a, pardon the pun, “rain check” from Mom. We’ll get together Saturday. I know if I caught this stuff from Cub & Hubby then I could pass it on to Mom & Dad. Don’t want that to happen!
Everyone have a lovely day…really would like to see the sun for a moment or two.
Morning, all. Hope you all have a great day. I am off to work soon. 10-8:30. Not fun!
Morning, it’s still raining!
Good morning, MRBA! I haven’t really looked, but I hope those people in Texas and other drought areas are getting plenty of rain too.
I have 20 people coming for our bridge game at 1:00 this afternoon. We are eagerly awaiting the grand opening of our new senior center in Pearl. The ribbon cutting and reception is 2 weeks from today. The outside of the building is beautiful and I have heard that the inside is really special. I know our senior director and her 2 assistants will be glad when we get over there. They are the special folks who carry the number of card tables I need each week down to where we play and set them up for us and then come back later and get them and take them back. It will be nice to have a place where we can leave them up.
morning gang! things went well this morning.. so now it is wait and see.
everyone have a good day!
Wet tailfeathers flying through. How is Banjo? I”ve got to get back on my calendar. See you later.
Crap. It’s going to be a REALLY nasty drive home.
everyone be carful on the drive home.. it is going to be nasty.
everyone also have a good evening.
Update on Orville. His doctor told him yesterday afternoon that, even though the last MRI showed continued improvement, she is not satisfied with the progress. She wants the lesion to be GONE. Therefore, she’s adjusting his chemotherapy. He’s checked into the hospital today and have his IV hydration going. Tomorrow they’ll run his routine Methotrexate, but then on Saturday he’ll have another chemo drug added to his regimen. It will run for 3 hours Saturday, 3 hours on Sunday and 3 hours on Monday. This is another very aggressive drug that’s guaranteed to make him sick (nauseous) and hit his blood counts hard (white cells, red cells & platelets). He’ll go the clinic twice a week after he gets out on Monday to have his blood levels checked so they can make sure he won’t need transfusions of any sort. He’ll progressively feel real bad and tired – on a downhill spiral for a week or so then slowly rise back up to a ‘normal’ point. His oncologist said that she’ll do the same series of treatments three weeks after this one’s completed (plan on five full days in the hospital). Then in six weeks (or three weeks after the second chemo treatments from now) she feels it will be time to start harvesting his bone marrow stem cells to get prepared for the bone marrow transplant in the near future. There will be another MRI done somewhere in this time period. It’s going to be a very rough road coming up, BUT it also means that we’re looking at the possibility of him being cured soon (before this year is over)! Your continued prayers would be most appreciated.

(((((((CornPop and Orville)))))))
Love, hugs, prayers, and every positive thought we can muster from all of us to both of you!
*choking back tears* Thank you & love you!
I’m home alone tonight so I can get up & go to work tomorrow. I’ll head up to the hospital after work to stay with him through the weekend, at the very least. Taking it one day at a time.
(((((((CornPop and Orville)))))))
BE cooked pork chops in cream of chicken soup, which made gravy to go over rice. I have cooked fresh snap beans and new potatoes and sliced some Wright’s Produce tomatoes. BE is in the kitchen putting the squash on and I’ve turned the oven on to cook the corn bread muffins. I think he said he got some speckled butter beans too, so I will take the next shift for that. Some sliced onion will be needed.
BE went to Food Depot yesterday and bought a spiral ham for under $10.00 and it has a wonderful taste, a lot better than anything Honeybaked has ever produced. He also got a box of pork chops and some other meat. They have the best and most reasonably priced meat anywhere in this area.
Thought I might check in to see how y’all are doing. A not so good week physically. It is what it is. I did get inspired, after finding Mama’s tube pan last night, and made a lemon pound cake. Perfect. And less than half of it is left…nomnomnom.
CP, I’ll keep y’all in my prayers dear. Tom Carson, EC’s now-retired 30 year band director, is still undergoing chemo for esophageal cancer. This week he is getting daily injections of Neupogen to pump up his blood counts. He has Marshall’s HOPE down to an art form, which is pretty awesome considering August 16, 2011, he was given 6 months to live-WITH treatment and surgery. He’s a great guy and a great friend.
AW’s “get some” comment a couple of days ago cracked me up. Heh.
We have had some serious rain the last couple of days. So, so glad. We have season passes to the Choctaw Fair, but I’m not sure it’s worth mucking through the mud. Although I do love me some Clint Black and JoDee Messina!
PM, I was afraid he was going to act a fool-his personality is very much like my brother who decided to try to pit my sis and me against each other. We both told him to grow up. Blues, my sis lives in Alexandria.
Mr Fab is taking off 7/19-7/25 and we’re spending it on the coast with Poppy. A year ago, his mom was admitted to hospice. He went down alone this past weekend and stayed with Poppy. They had a good visit. I’m not sure who needed it more, but he came home feeling better.
Pnc, I’ve been home for six months today. It’s gone by mighty fast.
Miss y’all.
XOXO
I know that you’re struggling with your own demons, Clucky, & I do pray each day gets better for you! Same goes for PM and the list goes on & on & on…
Hey Clucky praying for you girl. I think of you often. Enjoy that week hopefully you will have a good week pain wise and everyway else.
Clucky, it’s great to hear from you and hope you continue to get better and better.
That was the first summer meal we’ve had this year. I didn’t even cook the speckled butter beans because we didn’t need them. We had pork chops smothered in gravy with cream of chicken soup base, rice, fresh snap beans, new potatoes, squash, sliced tomatoes and onion and corn bread muffins. The temperature has been so pleasant all day that I was actually able to turn the oven on in our un-air-conditioned kitchen and cook cornbread. Everything was delicious and just what I’ve been craving.
Evenin!
Well, Big Sis just left to head to the airport to wait for BIL. She’ll be early, but she couldn’t stand it any longer. I’ll be asleep long before they get back (probably about 1 a.m.), but I’ll see him tomorrow.
Clucky, good to hear from you! Been missing you. You need to come by some time when you are in Jtown so we can catch up.
CornPop, you know you and Orville are in my thoughts and prayers daily.
Leagle, as usual, you make me hungry even when I’m full.
Night y’all!
praying for Banjo!
