Good morning to you all. OB have a safe trip and enjoy. I have a reunion at Lake Caroline to attend at lunch today to visit with some folks I met and worked with in 1983 to 1987. Hope you all have a grand day also.

Pokes head in…hey, where is errybod…oh, it’s saturday,…nevermind…goes back to work.

  3. Marica says:

Hey folks– usually don’t comment too often but I’m in NOLA, it’s raining, and husband is in an all day meeting. Yes. An all day– no lunch break (catered into meeting room)– meeting in New Orleans. So I may be stopping in just because it’s raining.

  4. Mrs. H says:

    Marica, glad to see you!
I once went on a business trip with Mr. H and was alone in the hotel room for 2 days (during the day) while he was working. I would have lost my mind if not for these guys. In fact, that was one of the biggest days for this blog ever. It was back when it was hosted on the clarion ledger site (son of Pluck) and one of our members had been banned because of a comment on some other CL story. I think there were around 300 comments that day as we cried out to have our Canadian friend reinstated.

I doubt if a Saturday will be quite that entertaining, but for you, we’ll try to step it up this weekend :)

Morning! Got up late but not a lot to do today.

    Welcome Marica!

  6. parrotmom says:

Hello Marica glad to see you today. Sorry for the rain and being cooped up in NOLA.

  7. Marica says:

Thanks for the welcome. It’s stopped raining and I got out to catch breakfast at one of our favorite French Quarter joints, De Javu on the corner of Conti & Daphne: corned beef hash, eggs, toast & a bloody mary. It is New Orleans, after all! What’s amusing is to see all of the folks who are clearly not from the South. Poor dears, they look so hot!

  8. blues4you says:

wanders back in….oh!hey folks…thought I was gonna have it all to myself today.

So, hi Marica…that’s a nice name. I bet I could find something to do in NOLA. Even if it was raining. You must not be trying very hard:)

I think I remember that day, MrsH. I miss those days of 200plus comments. And ALL the snark.

  9. dhcoop says:

    Mornin!

Welcome Marica! Glad you could join us.

Yep, I miss those days, too. I was actually thinking about our old preacher friend last night. I’ve got a kitten that seems fascinated with my toes. Keeps trying to bite them. heh

I’ve been enjoying watching the Olympics this morning. Watching the double-amputee qualify to continue on to the next round was really something. It would be really awesome if he could take home a medal.

And, I had no idea trampoline was an Olympic sport! Scared me to watch them!

Y’all try to stay cool today. I’m going later to meet up with some friends. Looking forward to it.

I think of him often too, Coop. Just as I’ve stated on Facebook, I don’t think a public forum is the place to discuss religious or political beliefs. We all have different ideas and feelings about things and it’s nice to have a place to come and converse without yapping at each other and getting mad because someone else thinks about something differently than we do.

  10. Marica says:

Oh! There’s plenty to do. But I wasn’t looking forward to doing it in the rain. All’s well now and I’m headed back out on the streets to take some photos. I am. Just as soon as I … zzzzzz .

    (I blame the bloody Mary.)

  11. Mrs. H says:

Coop, Dr. T’s youngest daughter spent Christmas doing language missions in China. She worked with Dong Dong, the gold medalist! Now THAT’S a small world!!

Oh, and Coop, we just rescued a cousin of yours who was hiding under a fern. I posted pictures on my blog. (click on my name)

Afternoon! I’m excited! Just realized this morning that the reason I can’t type on my laptop is I was resting my hand on the touch-pad. Go figure….Yes, I am techo challenged, to say the least.

Wish we could get some of that rain from NOLA, but wait a minute. When we get rain from there this time of year it’s usually a tropical storm so never mind.

Been to Bx, commissary, and class 6 store at Keesler AFB. To seafood store for shrimp and crab meat to take hone. Just finished oyster on half shell and fried shrimP & oysters at the Whitecaps.

  14. parrotmom says:

MrsH glad you were able to take care of Coop’s cousin ***snicker***

I had a good time earlier today good to see all those that showed up.

  15. OldBopper says:

Evening! Made it home safely. WELCOME MARICA!!

Stopped at the outlet mall on the way back and got PQ three new outfits. It rained on us about half the time driving from Hattiesburg to Magee.

Groceries are put up. Now to get the shrimp into smaller batches and into the freezer.

  16. DWB810 says:

Hello Everyone! PM how many showed up? And how do you find out about the reunions. I went to one in maybe 2005 or 2006. Anyway, maybe next time.

  17. DWB810 says:

Cat keeps pushing my hands and then bites when I ignore him. Crazy cat. Other cat is upstairs doing what he does best — sleeping. Dog on the other hand is lying next to me giving me attitude for who knows what this time. He has separation anxiety so it is most likely because his pack is out for the evening. We are merely substitutions. You know, we will do in a pinch.

  18. parrotmom says:

Hey DWB, I was talking to one of the ladies in charge and she remembered you. I will look up her info and FB you a message so you can contact her or you can just FB me the information and I will get it to the woman that was over personnel before the take over. I would say about 50 plus. It is sad when they mention the ones in bad health or how may have passed since the last one. I think she said today there was about 46 that had past since I guess the company ended back then.
