Wednesday Free for All

Good morning! Watching the fog slink like a gray cat hunting its prey as the sun rose this morning was amazing.

Marshall, your next book should be of your photos. “Sunrises in Mississippi”. Absolutely gorgeous. Hope all has a good day. Coop the temp this morning was an eye opener too. Brrrrrr….
Clucky glad you were able to get the electricity going again even though it was not as easy as flipping the switch.

    Mornin!

Today is my Bug’s 18th birthday!!!

Mornin. Happy Birthday, Bug! Kiddo will be 17 next week. They grow up so fast!

I started a new craft project last night making coasters out of 4″ ceramic tiles. I was looking for a low-cost gift for the co-worker and came across this on Pinterest. We just happened to have most of a box of tiles left after redoing bathroom floors a couple of years ago. So, I started experimenting. For my trial coaster, I cut a square of Christmas wrapping paper just smaller than the tile and “Mod Podged” it onto the tile. I need to get a can of polyurethane to seal it and put some felt on the bottom and it will be done. Looks cute! I’m going to make 3 more of those and have a Christmas set for me. For co-worker, I plan to print out a large letter “D” (for their last name) in a fancy font and make a set. For mom, I’m going to put family photographs on the tiles. It is such an easy project, and the possibilities are endless. You can use any paper or photograph, or even pretty fabric. This is going to be fun!

Good luck with the coasters molly. Just make sure you let them thoroughly dry separately, like for 24 hours or so, or they will all stick together when you stack them up. Also pay attention to the temperature range and make sure it is warm enough when you spray. Have fun!

      • Molly says:

I will. I should have the Mod Podge portion of the project done by tomorrow night and will do the sealant this weekend. It is supposed to be sunny and in the 70s on Saturday, so that should be a good day.

That sounds fun! You should post some pics!

Mawnin’ y’all. The air has a definite crispness to it yet the Sun makes me want to be outside.

I’m excited about the weather this weekend. Thinking about overnight motorcycle traveling. Will have to think more on it but it sure would be fun with temps in the 70’s.

morning! feeling so much better. work is busy but going good.

it was “cool” this morning. had to scrap frost off the car before coming into work. I was just glad most the fog had burned off by the time I was on the road. When hubby left it was so thick could barely see across the street.

    everyone have a good day!

Sorry I didn’t check in today. Well I did, but it was on the tail end of yesterday’s FFA.
I finished my knitting project and that was the last thing I had going and now I’m going crazy. I’ve got to find a new project!!
    Must knit…
    Must knit…

Haha! Mrs H I understand the addiction. Thre is just something about pretty strands going into something useful. I have a couple of crocheting projects I’ve got to get on.

I crocheted my nephew a full hunter orange outfit, vest, gloves, booties and cap. Even bought him his first gun and crocheted him a sling to hold it. He was born the end of October.

My first cousin is about to have her first grandson, so I guess I’ll crochet him a hat or something like that.

I’m about to crochet some more throw pillows for the doll bed. :)

I have been BUSY in a slow sort of way. I went through my old picture box and got everything sorted and organized. Have more old photos than I thought so I’m almost set to go for our Christmas issue. it was nice to do that. It made me think that I want to get dad’s disc of old photos that he gave me to mess with on the computer and put them on paper for my brothers and sisters for Christmas.

NOW, don’t send the sheriff out for me tomorrow. I’m taking a vacation day because I’m almost going to lose them if I don’t. I’ve got to take one a week from now until the end of the year.

    Evenin!

Enjoyed a great birthday dinner with Bug, but I ate WAY too much! She has had her bday dinner at Keiffers for the past several years, so we went there. I got there early and gave the staff the birthday cake (which could have been a candidate for cakewrecks.com…it was rather “festive”), and they brought it out lit up with 18 candles. Baby Girls Dad (my first ex) was there, along with Peanut, Baby Girl, Bug’s boyfriend and one of her life-long friends.

I gave her a cookbook that was written by one of my co-worker’s mother called Sweetness Forever. It’s a cookbook and the story of the 62 weeks straight that she fixed a desert a week for a young man who was recovering from a near-fatal bike accident (he was hit by a drunk driver). Bug loves to bake so she loved the book, and the story.

A good time was had by all!

Now to go put on my comfies and settle in.

Coop that sounds like so much fun for Bug. Sounds like she had a good evening. That is an interesting story with the cook book.

CLady enjoy your day off. Everyone have a good night.

Goodnight, y’all. Busy day today. Love y’all.

It’s Thursday morning…2:30 am. Finally decided to get up since I couldn’t go back to sleep after experiencing a horrible nightmare. I scared the hell out of PQ and now she’s hugging the edge of her side of the bed. Maybe by getting up, she can get some sleep. As I am sure AW can relate, you may leave the war but the war never leaves you. lt’s been with me for 46 years.

Hope everybody has a better start to the day. Hugs y’all.

  14. Mrs. H says:

Wow! OB…I’m glad you woke up and moved on. I can’t relate, but I can sympathize. I think the worst nightmare I ever had was when I was expecting Em and I dreamed that our eldest (aged almost 6 at the time) was drowning. I ran as fast as my pregnant self could to the end of the pier and dove in to save her. I woke up as soon as I hit the dream water but before I rescued my girl. In my brain, that meant she had drowned. I was crying when Mr. H woke up. Aren’t dreams the oddest things? Sometimes you know where they come from and sometimes they are just so outside the ordinary scheme of things…
