Good Tuesday morning at 5:58 am. I hope you all have a wonderful day. You know we at times say “Hey I’m first” we are not first Marshall is. Duh!!!!

  2. dhcoop says:

    Mornin!

  3. Mrs. H says:

It’s a beautiful morning after a rather nasty night.

  4. blues4you says:

Good morning. Hope no one sustained any weather related damage yesterday.

  5. parrotmom says:

MrsH, you said it well!!!! A bit chilly, but no more storms.

  6. OldBopper says:

Mawnin’ folks. Weathered the weather OK. Hopefully all the pine pollen has been washed away.

Watching our cat Rider eat. It wasn’t until the other day that I noticed he eats by using his lower jaw to scoop the food to the edge of the bowl and then starts to chew. He doesn’t use both jaws in a clam like motion. Must work, the boy has a great appetite.

Pulled a muscle in my back yesterday. It’s the same that I injured at work a year or so ago. Not as bad this time. Wearing my lumbar support and doing most anything I want except rather carefully and much slower. And just like the first time, I was only stooping over….tying a garbage bag. Last time I was putting a small book on a lower shelf.

PQ is preparing some plantians for breakfast. They may look like bananas but they don’t peel as easily. Peel’em , cut into pieces, quickly fry the pieces, then take it out of the pan and pound the fruit, put in a press like a hamburger press and fry again. Drain well and let it cool. A sweet taste.

  7. Sheila Gold says:

Mornin’. Don’t you just hate it when you get to work and you’re still half asleep and you wonder “How did I get here?” It’s going to be one of those days. . . uphill all the way! However, on a positive note. . . no damage at my house. Hope y’all made it through without any as well. Have a great day!

  8. LegalSec says:

I’m going to try this and see if it works. I’m putting up the name my MRBA friends know me as. We’ll see if it does.

  9. OldBopper says:

I stand corrected. After the first fry, put’em in a press then refry them. We have wooden press about the circumference of a drink can and about a quarter of an inch thick that our Panamanian friends gave us. Also, PQ says the sweet ones are the ripe (or over ripe) ones. She said they are not as good for you. They have lots of carbs, vitamins A and C, potassium, and no fat or cholorestrol to speak of,

  10. parrotmom says:

Sheila I am not at work yet but it will be a tall mountain to climb for the next several weeks and probably a weekend or two.

OB so sorry for the back. I hope you will be heeled quickly by noticing it so quickly and using the lumbar support.

Well off to work I go. I hope you all have a great, wonderful day!!

  11. dhcoop says:

    Happy Birthday to Mom!

  12. tank says:

fyi: mercyme, brandon heath and natalie grant are all going to be at broadmoor baptist on April 15th.

  13. Airwolf says:

Morning folks. Had some rough weather but we came through ok at our house. Lineman was out until after midnight replacing poles and reinstalling powerlines. There are some huge trees down north of town.

    Happy birthday Mama Coop.

  14. tank says:

we got the girls in the hallway it got so rough at home. the satellite had long gone out so we couldn’t hear any weather. we were fortunate not to have any damage at the house but just a few miles away there was lots. lots of trees down and some home damage. I saw some huge old oaks down on my drive in. katrinaish.

  15. Molly says:

Mornin. I’m wooped already. Kiddo leaves in the morning on a school trip for a few days. She can only take one suitcase and they have a long list of required items (rain gear, water bottles, towels, etc.) plus her clothes and personal items. I have a huge suitcase that it should all fit in; I just hope she can handle it on her own. She says it is big enough for HER to fit in…and I think she’s right!

  16. Molly says:

I was cutting up cilantro this morning for a chicken marinade and Roller Dog started begging. I tossed him a piece to see what he would do with it. He gobbled it up and asked for more! He doesn’t usually like leafy foods. Lettuce is one of the few things he won’t touch. He LOVES broccoli!

  17. Molly says:

Glad you and yours were safe Tank!

  18. cardinallady says:

Morning everybody! We are doing fine in the Pontotoc neck of the woods too. I wonder how Legal is doing today, and JB hasn’t checked in either. Did you make it through the storm my dearies?

*stay tuned for an important announcement* I FOUND MY CARDINAL PIN!!!!!!!! :) :) :) :) :)

Okay, back to your regualr BEAUTIFUL Tuesday morning. I’ve gotta write a creek full of words today. Got most of them written last night, not gotta pull up the stories and fluff them out.

  19. parrotmom says:

Happy birthday to Coop’s Mom. May she be blessed with many more.

So glad to hear from everyone so far that they fared well through all the storms. Tank so glad that it passed you by sounds like it was really close by.

I hope JB’s family and friends are well too!

  20. The Real JB says:

Some kids are idiots. Kid that my wife teaches decides that he is going to make threats to my son via text message and phone calls last night…and then he says, “I don’t care what your mom thinks either…I will snap her in half too.” Doesn’t he know you should never make a threat to one of your teachers even if it is said to one of her kids.

  21. parrotmom says:

JB that is horrible. I think it should be brought to that boys school counselor.

  22. msblondie says:

morning gang! we faird the weather. I saw a few limbs down in the yard but that is it. Hubby said when het got home last night M was in the hall with the Moo sitting at the doorway and D the cat was no where to be found (under our bed).

I got lots to do as usual. Everyone have a great Day!

  23. Legal Eagle says:

JB, that kid must not know who he’s messing with. Go after the turdhead’s family and the MRBA will put the fear in him.

And good morning! The earth has been washed clean again!

  24. The Real JB says:

She went to the principle to ask for his advice and he wants her to sign a warrant for his arrest. Evidently this kid has a history and he said that is the only thing that might get his attention.

  25. Ann Onimous says:

    *ahem* LAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!

    Hippo, Birdie, Two Ewe:
    Hippo, Birdie, Two Ewe!
    Hippo, Birdie, Deer, Coop’s Mom…
    Hippo, Birdie, Two Ewe!

(One of these things is not like the others: one of these things just doesn’t belong…)

I have an earworm. And I don’t know why it’s this song. I haven’t heard it in years.

“Don’t sleep in the subway, darling.
Don’t stand in the pouring rain.
Don’t sleep in the subway, darling.
The night is lonely. Forget your foolish pride.
Nothing’s wrong. Now you’re beside me again.”

Petula Clark. Famous for something other than “Downtown.”

    • Legal Eagle says:

I saw Petula Clark at the Copacabana in New York City in 1966. A girl friend and I went to NYC and stayed a week and saw 5 plays. We took the nightclub bus tour and had dinner at the Copa, and then went to the Latin Quarter and saw Lili St. Cyr. I didn’t realize until I read Barbara Walters’ autobiography that he dad owned the Latin Quarter.

  26. The Real JB says:

I believe that when Tank calls me Turdhead that it is actually a term of endearment which actually means:
    T – Terrific

    U – Understanding

    R – Right for Me

    D – Delicious

    H – Hunny

    E – Endless love

    A – Appetizing

    D – Drop Dead Gorgeous

So Leagle…she may get angry at you using that.

  27. dhcoop says:

    LOL!!!

  28. parrotmom says:

    Happy Birthday to GG :)

you guys are cracking me up.

    • Ann Onimous says:

Is it Grammar Girl’s birthday? If so…

      (LaAAAaaaaAAAA!!!!)

      Hippo, Birdie, Two Ewe:
      Hippo, Birdie, Two Ewe!
      Hippo, Birdie, Deer, Grammar Girrrrrrrrrrrrrrrlllll….
      Hippo, Birdie, Two Ewe!

      If it’s not her birthday… nevermind. :D

  29. Mrs. H says:

I can see that All’s Well in MRBA-Land.

  30. The Real JB says:

Boy’s parents were brought in. He admitted to the threats. Was told if he or any of his friends messaged my wife or son again charges would be drawn up and he would be arrested.

  31. msblondie says:

    well happy birthday coops mom

JB that is good.. maybe the threat of him being arrested work him up.

I have been running all morning. I think I might have finally laned in my desk chair for a little bit.

  32. Legal Eagle says:

JB, if tank gets made at me, we can work it out at the picnic if not before. She does show up from time-to-time. I’ve been waiting for you to take me to Louise’s for several years now.

  33. dhcoop says:

I’ll pass all the birthday wishes on to Mom! She’ll be tickled.

I’m about to have some “Bold and Spicey” BBQ.

  34. The Real JB says:

Leagle I would love to take you to Louises…just don’t make it to MS very much. I would do anything to have one of their pork steaks for lunch today. Anything.

  35. Airwolf says:

Just in from the CPA, first time in over 20 years a small refund from federal and state, woohoo!

  36. parrotmom says:

you folks have had a blast today. so glad to see the numbers being higher for a change.

JB glad they took care of the situation.

I think I will soon start on what came on on the 30th last week.

  37. parrotmom says:

great for you AW. I started back on getting my stuff together to get mine done.

conga rats must be pretty big!!!!

  38. The Real JB says:

    AW
    May I borrow $5

  39. cardinallady says:

Okay, I had some great news this morning. Now for some not so great news. My phone has disappeared into nowhere. I can’t find it.

So I backed my ears down and ordered me another one. this one will have email capabliities on it so I think I’ll like it. I should even be able to talk to yall from my house on the internet at night. It is a smart phone palm pro.

  40. dhcoop says:

Clady, you would enjoy seeing the flock of cedar waxwings we’ve had around the office for the past couple of days. They are beautiful!

  41. parrotmom says:

At home to do my 2nd, 3rd and 4th jobs.

  42. Mrs. H says:

I posted to my blog part of the devotional I had planned for our spring break trip. I think if you click on my name, it will take you to it.

  43. Barb says:

    Happy birthday to Coop’s Mama!!
    Happy birthday to GG, also!
We had no damage from the weather, but our trash can lid went missing!! Several co-workers who live in Simpson county lost power until sometime this morning. My store manager’s neighbor lost 10 big oak trees!! Braxton or Harrisville.

  44. parrotmom says:

Better a tree than a life. Thank goodness.

  45. dhcoop says:

    Evenin!

  46. dhcoop says:

I just read all the birthday greetings to Mom. She was so excited! ! Thank you all so much! AnnO, she even wrote down the “Hippo Birdie” song. LOL!

She had a great birthday dinner at the Catfish Kitchen in Carthage that happens to be owned by someone she taught in kindergarten, so dinner was free! Good day for her.

  47. parrotmom says:

So glad your mom had a wonderful day, Coop!!! I am so glad the surgery a few weeks back has given her a more enjoying time.

  48. parrotmom says:

The official time is 8:03 per computer and Grandfather clock is a little slow :)

    Where was Clucky today?

  49. dhcoop says:

Selena Gomez looks like she’s half Elmo on DWTS.

  50. dhcoop says:

Yes, PM, Mom is getting better every day!

  51. parrotmom says:

That is wonderful news!!!!! I bought a new litter box and placed where Tinker likes to go, but I think I have scared her away with picking her up and placing her in it the last two nights. PD thought it may be because of the scent of the other kittie? I haven’t a clue?

  52. clucky says:

Clucky was in Jackson (well, Flowood) this morning bright and early for the appt with the neurologist. I will be spending the night at St D in a month for a sho-nuff work up.

She also is of the opinion that I may have MS. The tests she will be doing will either confirm or rule out. Either way, she said she would get to the bottom of whatever is going on. I have a lot of faith in her, and feel very confident in her abilities. I’m not scared or worried-I just want answers, ya know?

Chicklette stayed at her mamaw’s today, and now she’s running fever, so no school again tomorrow. I have no clue what is going on with her. I hate to take her to the doctor for nothing. So far, I am just treating the temp when it gets over 101, and giving her Tums for the tummy ache.

The weather was wicked cool to watch zoom over yesterday, but I sure was glad to wake up to clear skies this morning. I wanted it to cool off a LITTLE bit, but dang, it is downright COLD right now!

The Queen Mama cat that had 3 kittens about 10 days ago brought me the orange tabby from her litter and put him on my lap. She hasn’t brought out the black one or the white one yet, but they are under my side of the bed. I guess she just wanted a babysitter for a little while. He’s sweet-he’s snuggled under my neck asleep. :)

AnnO, I can’t wait to meet you this Saturday! Drills are from 10-1. It sure would be fun if some of us could meet up afterwards for a quick visit. I can’t stay too long-Thing 1 is taking his gf to her prom-and probably in my car.

Goodnight, friends. Sleep well. And happy birthday to Coop’s mom, who is a sweetheart, and to GG, who is a mess! LOL!

    • Ann Onimous says:

I can’t wait to meet you, either! Do you know what time you’re going to be there? I’ll be there the entire time. I think Chicklette and LilO will both do us proud!

  53. clucky says:

PS..I keep seeing guys looking at their thumbs, then the thumbs of other guys around them. What’s up with that?

    LOL

  54. Barb says:

    Nite, all. Rest well.
