Have you ever done something and knew — I mean just knew that you’d pay for it the next day? You know what I’m talking about: That choice. Yes, that choice that sounded like a good idea at the time to your stomach while your mind was screaming, “NO!!!!!”
I had one of those choices last night and unfortunately listened to my stomach. And now I’m listening to my stomach once again.
For the record: Taco Bell is not a performance enhancer.
Before you go and get all judgemental on me, I’ll admit, I was weak. And I’ll also admit that the Taco Bell in the Pilot Truck stop was calling to me like a siren’s song. And I’ll plead with you that there just aren’t many places to pick up a quick dinner between Carrollton, Mississippi and my house. And yes, I was hungry from being on the air for three hours.
But I should have resisted. I should have made a better choice.
I did run this morning. I ran 5.35 miles and I ran it quickly. Mainly because I had to.
After you eat healthy for a few months, your body rejects fast food. You feel bloated and sluggish from all the fat, carbs, additives and salt. Next time my stomach craves a 1/2 combo burrito, I’ll remind it of the price it paid the last time I ran for the border.
Now if you excuse me, I’m going to get a salad. I think my stomach is still mad at me.
Truck stops usually carry granola bars, too. I can’t remember the last time I ate at Taco Bell. I may have been persuaded by my child to eat there, but never tempted. Hope there was no permanent damage to your system. :)
I don’t eat granola bars. Too much sugar.
I hope your body forgives you and you get in the right track soon.
Marshall you are so right about Taco Bell! For that matter any of those…..
I remember when I train doing the whole watching everything that I eat or drink the only problem is when your not living or able to live that way all the time it becomes a major battle. In your case its very reasonable to have to get food wherever you can when it comes to work.
You do enough running that it will offset it, for the whole way you feel you will have to just take some previously prepped chicken or other for protein while on the road to make it easier lol!
Glad lately I’ve been able to catch your show some, I have problems with 97.3 coming in clear lots of the times. I sent JT a tweet the other morning and told him and bob that I was tired of it never coming in clear most of the time and 97.3 having a weak signal in Petal.
But I do enjoy both shows very much , thanks for being on and keeping us informed everyday!
Thanks,

Ah, you ate it, probably enjoyed it at the moment, then had the stomach turners….. good for you:) Now you can continue on the healthy journey. I would’ve done the same thing.
